"Gun turret, that's gonna be a bitch." Blackout hissed subvocally. "Any of you mages know anything that could zap the thing? It wont be easy to take out without a lot of noise. Also, what about the ghouls? There's got to be something stopping it shooting them, which means they might have an IFF system that could be spoofed." Blackout left the statement open, he wasn't familiar enough with ghouls to know about their heat signature, amongst other things.
(is it possible to get a clear shot of the gun without entering it's scanning arc?)

OC:
I'm going to take a leap of logic and want everyone to follow me.
In the past wolf has brought up a sr4 peace of gear. Basically it's fiber optics hooked up to goggles. Since fiber optics are basically hollow mini cords with mirrors inside, then it makes sense that you could use a standard mirror (on a stick ect) to cast spells around corners the same way.

If the gun mounts are not shooting the ghouls and like you say maybe they have an item the the gun mount recognizes, then shouldn't we check the ghouls we geeked to see if they had something we could use to get by the guns? Fade say to the group over the SV comms.

Oh Oh checking ghouls bodies I can dibs Mist is so excited it didn't cross his mind to check the bodies for anything. Oh ya they did say that ghoul blood is bad though so best not touch it since could turn me into something else... Oh do I want to be a ghoul hum... eatting flesh of stuff all the time is no fun I guess not. Oh ya I do also have a spell that does damage physical things smoke bomb. So that might help too. Ya me I help.
(OOC I agree with Shade a mirror should be able to work nice corner shot for mages. Oh ya Mist concealment is personal so only works on him not how the power is stated in general in the books. Too bad or like 6 guys concealed all the time would be cool.)

Your 'mirror on a stick' can easily be a 30cm manipulable snake periscope with a telescope end attached to a segmented plas tube and fiberoptics linking to a viewing scope.. the cost of a camera. One of the mages would have one.
You can get a clear shot of the turret wait for it to arc away then blow it to bits with a quick short burst or a single heavy shot... too far away to do that with a pistol though unless you are lucky or very good.
Nothing on the two ghouls - not even loincloths. eeeyw.
the questions you raise would indicate that the turret is monitored - there are intelligent targetting comps which guide a turret - but the turret then tends to be pretty efficient too (read costly) - expensive comuter uses expensive gear. This turret is cheap and old - would it be monitored by a security person? seems logical.
the Vampire had a bank of cams back at the Carfax building - someone likes electronic security ? It was basic stuff - you would need a reasonable idea and to be able to follow the instructions on the box.. Blackout could easily assess the capability of the installer by the standard of the work.. this job has been completed by a novice - someone was probably reading the manual while drilling holes judging by the age of the turret and its poor positioning. That would usually have an impact on the system as a whole - a badly-wired up system will not transmit very well and may well be prone to failures. It would be a good bet that the camera is there to pick up obvious things like muzzle flash or small explosions - or even a lot of flashlight flooding down the tunnel. That would stand to reason - a 'spot obvious' camera. It would need constant monitoring or a good computer to maintain a watch on the IR sigs of the four ghouls. The indication is that is is not a good system so will be picking up only rough data.
If you can fool it for a short while then you ought to be able to get through undetected.
Meg could raise a nature spirit to affect the camera mounting - but it would probably get shredded by the ghouls on the way past them
A smoke screen could work - it would blank out the ghouls and you while you take them down and then spring the maglock. once you are through, the heat from the ghoul bodies will remain for a good few minutes. As the system is pretty ropey anyway a glitch every so often could be expected - just as long as it doesnt take too long and get someone to come looking.
The Star reports on the Carfax cameras was brief - stating that it was a 'poor' system. Stands to reason that if they are going to set up one system then another of theirs will be similar. these things need maintenance owing to critters a-nibbling bits.

Smiling, hunter looks at the turret, then to blackout. "well," he whispers to him as he puts away the semi automatic pistols. "If it comes to it, im sure that this will do the trick." he says with a wink as he pulls out the x-frame pistol ".500 Magnum..... Wont be as quiet, but...." he lets the rest hang as he looks over the pistol for a moment, then at the turret.

"Blackout, I need specs on that turret mount - how precise will it turret be? If it saw a target at our end of the hall, would it fire off a concentrated burst or blanket the area with automatic fire? How do you think it is managing to distinguish between us and the ghouls?"

Listening to these guys was driving me nuts. If I were down here by myself I'd already be past the gate. <sv>"Why don't you leave the ghouls to me? I've dealt with this kinda thing before."http

Bishop stopped, his posture relaxing as he digested what Shade had just said. His aura shifted slightly as he played out a vicious retort in his head, but held his tongue.
"Ok, off you go. I'll wait here for your all clear."
He lowered his weapon and leaned against the wall, casually glancing at his watch.

"Hard to say, programming can vary. I'd expect it to fire bursts, from the quality I doubt it'll be very accurate or pick up targets quickly." With his face as straight as he was able, Blackout nodded in agreement with Bishop's instruction to Shade. "Good plan, you go and do it all."

((Is the gate flush with the wall??))
Shade waves the team back... further..... further...
He sets himself up a nice big area to work, since jack will need it. He was waiting in astral space patiently.
<e>I need you woft that noxious breath of yours around this corner without them seeing you. I see where your going with this. Jack manifests with Shade standing behind him. You want me to do this fast or slow? Slow, if it builds up slowly over time they will adjust and not notice the smell until their already half out of it. Ghouls have real sensative smell so take it easy
Jack starts slowly breathing out and gently pushes it around the corner.

That was a nasty plan.. three of ghouls throw their heads up then slump to the floor while the fourth resists for a few seconds clawing at its throat and frantically looking around - it staggers a few steps into the railings then slides down them coming to rest with its face jammed inbetween the bars and back bent nearly double and an arm clawing out.. the ghouls are out of action - confirmed by a number of scopes and fast looks around the bend. a couple of quizzical looks in the darkness towards Shade as if to ask 'is it safe now?' Blackout should not have any problem with the lock - it is there as security to prevent access by sewer workers who are not versed in the twistier arts of infiltration.. a peer at the mag-padlock reassures Blackout that it is a step above standard but well within his comfort zone. Problem is there is a cam still up there.. You have the four slumped bodies - which will retain their body heat sig for the camera.. all you guys need is to be able to get through without being spotted.. Hunter or Bishop could quite easily destroy the camera and mount - but wouldnt that raise the alarm? The size of the spirit Shade referred to as Jack is impressive - the dust swirls in the limited pencil torch glow but there is a feeling of bulk which fills the tunnel as if the spirit is cramped in this subterranean passage - filling it with.. well it is more of an impression than an actual solid. Some have seen the spirit before out in the open in more visible conditions and know it takes up a lot of space with its swirling mass. now it seems more concentrated - bottled... the ghoul has neatly scrunched itself up close to the lokc creating a neat place to conceal himself from the cam sweep.. Blackout recons with a little concentration he could outmanouver the cam sweep anyway but using the ghoul as a shield he can quickly disable the lock and swing the gate open after checking it for manual alerts. Blackout knows that he could happily slip through avoiding the sweep - but what about the others? The mages tend not to have that physical ability to take advantage of natural cover and their gawky attempts at sneaking could just spoil the whole setup after all this hard work... (OOC anyone with a stealth of 3 or better can avoid the camera sweep.. otherwise you will need to gain one sucess using sneakyness - or use some other method to avoid being detected... Blackout could adjust the sweep and allow everyone through with great ease - if he could reach.. (apologies for the short jokes ) once you are through this - and I dont see any reason why not as you have thought it through and executed well. you are expecting to encounter quite a few of the creatures - so would be making sure you have the correct tools to hand.. Meg hefts one of the heavy UV beamers - currently set on 'tiny glow' allowing minimal illumination preparing to

"Are they dead or just unconscious?" He looked at Bishop. "If they're unconscious, we're best off icing them while we've got the chance."
He considered the scene and the angles for a moment. "Anyway I can get up to the gun and deal with it. I'll look for a more subtle way of deactivating it but once I get up there it'll be a cinch to just knock it out if no better option presents itself."
He looked around at the others. "Keep me covered." He left the decision of any of them tagging along up to them to work out, and started out moving quick and low for the gate as soon as the timing was right with the camera's scan.
Electronics 6 to check the gate for alarms and deal with it, assuming Blackout gets there uninterrupted: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][rand=4275181199168808468783658523965411541297523337697453305353537113]
