I heard that you guys some times reported stuff to some para normal research group. why not call them in while we strip what we can. If they get here in time they can take over and hold this place to learn more. We can tell them that they have one hour maybe. They also could give us a big chunk of cred for what ever this place is. Fade says this as he's moving around picking up odds and ends.

" There are things in this universe that man simply doesn't need to know... this is one of them. Personally I'd like to take what we can and completely destroy the rest. With any luck we use that to peace this place together." He rubbed his chin. " If info like this leaks out, it'll cause a panic but if we keep to ourselves then they remain hidden in other places." Meg looked over. " Your quite good at dealing with the star if that's the route you guys want to go." Shade had finished his astral reading and was digging though the papers reading little snipes here and there as he pulled them together. " No, I would seek a higher authority." This is coming from the man who can get the Seattle lonestar branch CEO off his ass and into the field. Who else could he possibly know? ((I've waited so long to work this in, now i am smashing it in at the end. )) ((I sent my watchers to check out the new exits, also what is causing the toxic background? You never gave me a specif cause.))

Mist speaks up about his intentions. If it is ok with everyone I'd like to stay here with who every is going to stay. I'll help with the dismantling of anything but I can't really help with the moving of stuff. Oh ya I'll also keep video records with these guys cameras then wipe the video after I download it to my deck. Mist pats his cyberdeck when he mentioned it. Then waits to hear what the group is going to do.</div>

Shade was struck with a idea when mist started patting his deck. "We could cut down on our carry out if you digitize these documents. I believe I can offer assistance. I have a spell or two that could speed up the process. Plus with catalog I have an extra sense of which document goes where so sorting them shouldn't be to big a job either."

Meg holds up a couple of sheets of the real paper to the light
this stuff is old paper copies went out years back - there is probably something to trace back in virtually everything here - there will be serial numbers or papertrails to check through - some of these sheets should be in museums see this one, hand written in ink on what looks like German high command letterheads.. but there is signs of heating and a feint trace of hidden lettering. We should try to take anything that is not nailed down.. but theres a lot
We can call for a couple of extra hands - Chuck and a few others could be here inside an hour if Mist can tap into this communications rig again and find a safe outside line - you said that their security is paper-thin Mist.. Someone ought to retrace steps and show our guys the way... Sewer or through the sub-carport?
I agree wit you Shade this place should be wiped out - any of their friends who come callin may raise an alarm then we'd be into an open war if they recognise us - I'd prefer to make this look like an accident an destroy it all.
Who are you thinkin about callin in Shade? Somewhere down the line some of this evidence will lead to people with who may well take offence at us killin off this research place. Look at some of this..
top range bioware - someone has to be supplyin vampyre with cyberware an real expensive medical gear.. takes yen an influence to cover up. See these crates too - ex USA military, these vamps had access to milspec equipmet and military archives so they had or have good connections. This paper an glass will have bioprints on it from suppliers an We should be able to trace a lot of this to the previous owners but then once they know we know - they will come lookin for us.
My point bein that we've probably done the easy part - next step is to throw our lot in with a bigger organisation who just might have the clout to follow all of this up without getting buried real quick. someone will have to start sniffin out these leads which will spook a few people involved who will run to their higher ups for help...
I seen it before - just settin up the business has had me involved in politics with Seattle City, Great Britain - with Aztechnology an the Magus Universities.. everyone wants a slice of.. fame, yen, magic. Soon as you call on a few favours you make an alliance an someone else will want to see you fall big time. Look at how the Star dealt wit the rednex - iso-cubed for the rest of their naturals and rightly so - but theyve erased any public knowledge of the ghouls or vampyre references to prevent public disquiet - meaning people in power have pushed their influence through City Hall to bury this.
Yeah this is conspiracy on conspiracy with no real evidence - cept we have a big hunk of evidence here and now - which may just mean there will be powerful people out there who want to keep this very very quiet.. an anyone who knows about it even quieter.
Alternative is to waste this place so the vamp friends cant follow us up - an we later investigate the gear we carry away, on the quiet. Even so little tings will leak out leavin trails back to us. But we will do somethin with it all because it will lead to more associates and more vermin that will need removin.
The toxic background is set about the machineries - the area has been put to some very dark uses for a good while leaving a stain in the astral - unhealthy, reeking of death and power, an influence of overwhelming triumph accompanied by utter dispair
Blackout comments that there is an innordinate amount of electrical power going into the machineries far far too much to just turn the stuff on - no need to couple power links onto the city grid.
you can take a lot of pix Bishop dose seem exceptionally good at collecting serial numbers and ID tags - once some of the electrical slabs are disconnected the bubbling stops from four of the tanks - looks like you are turning off the life-support to the ghouls inside.
Being careful you can collect nearly everything that is not nailed down - samples of each liquid or cannister is taken, pix recor where from and sealed up.. you recon you have a sample of everything within the hour - it wont take long to remove the delicate electronics beds an put em into back packs - even so you have enough for a dozen people to carry leaving the bulky tables, tanks glasses and jars all sampled... (if this is the route you wish to take! or - you wait for backup and investigate the machineries where it is and as an added bonus the six ghouls remain alive)

Shade checks the machinery and circuits closely Blackout, does this remind.. would all this be something along the lines of a comms link?
Blackout and Mist raise eyebrows Theres enough transmit receive parts here with a whole host of wave amplifiers - I had considered that it was an intense bio-monitoring system - but yes it could be used as a kind of comms unit but the wavelengths are too wide to pick anything up through the crete - you'd need a microwave transmitter for that.. Blackout agrees Yeah mil-spec gear this isnt - the wave would be too localised - but it is built to channel a very heavy charge through the tanks which would kill the ghouls within a minute - but they could control it in steady increments.. see over here - trickle gates.. they would be electrified if not boiled to death
unless they are in a regenerative soup..

Shade snaps his fingers. "-oooh! I didn't see it! This's brilliant and mad. Their not ghouls in a normal sense. Their vessels, their meant to hold something. I bet the wave is some kind of calling device. Think insect spirits but not insect spirits. This is something I've only seen in insect hives, the process is different but the end result is the same... if you listen real close you can hear them singing... it's a song of misery and death."
He turns to the group. "This place is beyond evil, Once we take what we want we should collapse it, so no one else can enter ever again."
Shade didn't like it but he would have to brake no contact and inform the order. These guys were over their heads nothing sort of a shit ocean.

Blackout snorted in amusement at the use of the word 'evil'. "Must be interesting research to someone somewhere, aint our decision to make to frag it." He looked at Meg. "I'm not an expert on this branch of tech, but despite the age of some of the hardware this looks like cutting-edge thinking. I reckon it's worth studying closer, get someone who's got a more expert opinion before just arbitrarily crushing it." (yeah, that sort of useful electronics information was the sort of thing I was waiting for wolf )

I know very little about Insect Spirits - I do know the Brotherhood took in people, cocooned them an turned them into bug creature slaves. Chicago had hives of them before they brought in the nukes and sealed the place off.
someone had to call the bugs from somewhere - some theories say there are multiverses out there an we have tapped into or gained a closeness to the ones we can understand - earth air fire an water - along with spirits of an area - all very traditional... There's a lot of mileage in the Brotherhood getting close to being a hive mind to start with, like wageslave deadheads do just living to work, so it becomes easy to understand... the link is made an someone thinks about making a key then they open a door
could be what there is here - belief in vampyre or a belief in traditional evil - demons and devils and the like.. Micro called them Zibree.. humanlike - but that carpet of vomit - that was just a monster or a true form
this hardware is a real mix - cutting edge where that can be used but some of this other old kit must have a use and be difficult to replace with now-tec. It could have to be used because it helps make a connection with.. whatever. Mages do the same with candles chalk circles and the like - tradition is important for rituals.
create a vessel - call the spirit - pay the price - you got yourself a willing helper this could have been going on for years - hundreds of these creatures
well - what do you think should be done ? Shade - you are for stripping an destroying real fast Blackout councells study I know that this is as vile a place as I have seen - but I need to know your opinion on our progress -
As I see it there are a few options open from leaving it all in someone elses hands all the way through to destroying every little bit in here. A part-way is to strip what we can an flatten the place...
Blackout, I suggest you set any charges you have - just in case someone wants to reclaim all of this - we blow it - to keep their hands off it.
But what to do with the equipment ? It would need some long term investigation - there could well be a way of using this to find a weakness - trace the wavelength maybe? But who will take care of it - an can they be trusted? I dont have answers an I dont believe we can study this lot down here for a few months either
you need to make decisions - an it isnt just a democratic vote - weve all got to agree what to do

Shade listened intently rubbing his chin. "We already know that they share weakness's with creatures we already have here on earth. However you gave me another idea. Take what we want, smash the rest into uselessness and setup surveillance." He looked over to Blackout. "Can you patch a good outside line for us? We could probably use motion sensors and laser trips, if someone does come looking we'll have a leg up and catch them on their way out." He looked back to Meg. "Ambushing the would be recovers gives us a chance to catch and interrogate them. They can't all be mutant vampires."

That could be done - we bring in a few spy cams and get you guys to tecchie the place - we could then ID then trace down people who come lookin - then dig into their mind for what else they know when we catch them.
we will need to either run hundreds of metres of minicable though to the places we came in or find out where these other exits lead to.. the crete and soil is too deep to pass out a beamed signal - follow the pipes?[/teal]

I say blow it or get out. This group is powerful. We should be handing it off to some one that can take a few hit then hit back. We take a hit and we're all dead. As for setting up cams to see who shows up. Well wouldn't that be traced back to us? I know a corp mage body guard that could maybe take this over from us. I could give her a call. See if we can dump this before the things that run this place decide we know too much and put us in tubes like these. Her boss and their corp might even throw us some cred for our passing it to them. Fade looks around making sure he know where the exits are and letting his senses travel as far as he can to get a feel if some thing comes knocking on the door.

OK - another for handing it off to an outside agency and us wiping our hands of it all.
I dunno if I can go with that - once some outside corp gets hold of this - someone in an organisation will try it out and become seduced by the power.. That is something we have to think about.. if we strip and blow the place - will we investigate the gear ?
this brings up further problems - which is why I want a unified front from everyone - we are the people on the spot, we dont quite know what we have but there are some educated guesses which fit - can we walk away from this - or do we need to keep it close and personal?
Are any of you willing to put the time and effort into investigating this ? If the answer is yes then we keep it all - maybe call in trusted experts for help.. Is it now our responsibility..? once we turn it over to another organisation it will be gone forever.
how to fund it? how to use what we find? who to contact?
This is a poisoned chalice weve just uncovered - seems too good to give away but too dangerous to keep.
Hell - what would you do if you were a corp and was handed this ? - I would pay you all the mill yen each then trace you all down an have us all on a slab and mind stripped - maybe even find ourselves as ghouls in the tanks to test it out..
If you decide to give this up then we need to know who it goes to - and be happy with any future consequences.
Meg is listening to this ten minute conversation while you go about your useful tasks - the immediate outer is being monitored - you have cleared the area -
She is asking for something very different from you all - this isnt a raid or a protection run - this is now putting you on the spot to make a long term decision. She will go with whatever you all decide over this next ten minutes.

(OOC You can ask as many questions as you want - it is not like we have to sit around a conference table for weeks on end.. You can flesh out contacts to make em 'real' - It becomes a choice for you to make As I have said I will be reducing my running of threads as I cant put the time in any more - you could use this as a stepping stone for any runs you want to create in the future - and there is a huge potential.. you can happily run threads based around Commute - or go your own ways - I would like to see you make a decision about your character's futures..

"If we do turn this over I won't hand it to a corp." Meg was quick to ask. "So who would you prefer to turn it over to?" "The Free Magicians." "I've heard rumors but never met a member." "Oh, you have. You just wouldn't know it. They'll put resources into looking at the technology and figuring out who made it and why. However I suspect it's a gateway or beacon of some kind, letting whoever is listening know they have some vessels ready." "So how do you fit it in with The Free Magicians?" <tht>I hate a smart woman. Shade mentally searched for a answer that wasn't a lie. "I have a few friends who are members." <tht>-and also happen to be my peers.
"What would they do to the area you think?" "Most likely they'll cleanse it and put it under surveillance."
