Influence will put a suggestion into effect - very good for long term as the target will not realise what has happened - a little like a mild hypnosis - wheras the control spells will put you in the driving seat for the duration like a puppeteer and the target will know.
The influence could be an immediate influence so 'you must stop running' would be fine the intention being to slow the target and they ought to comply as there is no immediate threat.
'you must open the security door' would be a different proposition as it would go against the grain for the security guard. It would be possible if you are good enough - a little embellishment would be useful too when the situation is tricky.
I cant see a problem with putting the 'fluence on the kid - he has just beaten ten kinds outta a rival ganger so should feel pretty safe.. he laffs and slows his run - turns to see his handiwork.. making a few gestures at the fallen Rednecks and the do-gooders helping them... Booyah dudes ! You Rednex goin down bigtime - tell em Fleece goin to eat'cha up !
well - seems like 'Fleece' are the ones doing the immediate turf grab.. now you need a little local Kn if you want to dig deeper into gang politics..
It would be reasonably easy to stop these from bleeding to death - a rudimentary first aid would do.. if you have biotech at 3 then you know your stuff and can take a little time to be successful.. weedy rudimentary biotech would need a roll. Noone nearby is willing to lend a hand to a few bleedin gangers.

Influence is a permanent spell which means it takes a good amount of time to do it's thing. It'd take like 20 minutes to influence the kid.

Thank you for your time and information. I'll see want can be do to resolve this matter. Maybe we can work together again. Chuck gives the Ork shaman a grin and walks back to his bike.
Ya. This is Chuck. I found a way into the sewers an some info on what's down there. After he tells the rest of the team what the shaman has told him. Ya I'll meet ya all there. Chuck starts his bike and heads back the the Tent to get his LMG. Then goes to wait on the rest of the showing up.

she describes the place - a street-level garage two blocks away - It is a working chop-shop but down below there is an access lift to the maintenance floor where part of the walls have been removed. This allows access to the sewer hub
There is some kind of operation going on there to do with the adjusting the water levels.. there is a series of sluices which these mech-guys are controlling keeping the levels as high as possible without overloading the sewer system. It floods all of the lower pipes but keeps the upper areas nearly full.. in some places there is no pipe-top clearance from the liquids so the rats dont go further.
the area they are based in is as big as a 40-car underground parking area.. which can be reached from the shop above via the wide carlift she reports that she has seen three humes and about a dozen mechs busying themselves down there. pylon floodlights on portable generators keep the place lit up and all of the guys wear full face masks. there are a series of wide crete cuts all linked up to sluices controlling the sewerage levels - with the machines to control them higher up on metal gantries.
plenty of routes in if you want to go under the sewerage but there are rubbish extractors to get past by climbing over. The smaller vents and ducts up above might be able to accomodate someone or something small - (body 2) which is where most of her information has come from..
and there is an inspection hatch and downpipe from the sidewalk but that has been sealed somehow from below
In effect she describes the sewerage systems blocked up from chinatown down to the docks.. Chuck found the Chinatown sewers full to the brim a while back..
the waters in the sewers have an acidic-toxic content. medium term immersion will strip your skin and cause a wide variety of toxin poisoning.. full immersion suits are worn by the inspection teams who do go down there.

Looks like we'll need some suits to go in the drek. Some tanks to to let up breath. Instead of hitting the chop shop it might be better to just swim it. Instead of heading to the location of the entrance Chuck waits at the Tent.

Shade and Micro are still checking out the Car Fax building - the upper levels are stripped and the main floor has been cleansed - down would be the next route to take..
guided around the corridors and rooms by the astral light generated by their own astral selves.. both make their way down the stairwell to the newly- pumped crete plug. Linking hands one slides his astral shape into the unliving mass - there is no resistance - more like a diver dropping down through water although the blackness here is absolute so it is really difficult to remain orientated. no surfaces for the self-light to bounce off leaving them utterly blind..
a sharp tug is enough to demonstrate that they have reached the limit of decent without losing touch of their companion.. so the stuff is at least two to three metres deep..
there are other places to delve into so they try the liftshaft - then the laundry and garbage chutes - all pumped full of crete.. plugging any standard access down.
Shade drops through the floor of the bar - to reveal the carpark below. A minute later both Micro and Shade are surveying the old carparking space.. the liftshaft has a couple of plas-boards stuck across the doorframe and the rolls of solidified crete can be seen having oozed through the slight gaps - nothing was going to get down there short of heavy excavation vehicles
a swift tour of this level finds the stairwell firedoor closed - behind it the solid crete has solidified.
four vents around the walls exude crete like sphagetti and a pile of solid slop below.. the east side houses the small maintenance rooms where the conduits piping and crallways lie... there is evidence of the crete hoses being slopped onto the floor here along with a good few booted footprints.. the open holes have all been filled.. there have been attempts to smooth the results off - the result being any gaps have been filled.
the ramp leads down to the lower floor - which is far more interesting..
here there are recent lasarburns across the walls with an occasional gap.. around these gaps flamers have been played - your guess would be something got sliced then fried. the area has been crete plugged as well - except for the west maintenance rooms where it looks like something big has burrowed in through the side walls following the piping.
strange thing that strikes you is the gouges around the laundry chute - looks like someone has been taking a crete cutter to the thing - the exit chute looks something like a crater in the wall as if something has slipped down the chute and cut runnells into the wall - or something has been clawing to get up.. The immediate area has been blackened - roasted and you can see the crete plug filling the chute going upwards is new. Burnt then sealed up.
there are mounds of dirt and rubble inside the maintenance room - spoilheaps containing microbes - this stuff would be like treacle for an astral body to try to swim through.. typical underground dirt full of tiny creatures as opposed to the sterile dead crete of the building frame.
around the broken frame of the hole nearly three metres across are scortchmarks across the face are plasboards which hold back fresh crete..
between yourselves you discuss the merits of following this.. deciding that the waterpipes would act like a solid stair rail and the dirt when you encounter it would feel different to the lifeless crete... so in you go blind for a meter then the tunnelling opens up..
the plasboards had burst at the rear - letting the stuff run and spread onto the floor into the tunnel. so instead of a solid four metre floor to ceiling plug there is a long lump and only a thick skin across the top.. a little further into the tunnellway the lasars have cut deep gouges in the walls - nearly the whole of the next thirty foot is blackened from flamers.
evidence of things dragged back towards the entrance have smeared the floor until the pouring crete covers it in an off-white lava-like layer.
time to get back and report...

Meg cuts in.. so we got two avenues to explore - Chuck has dug up a lead but in exchange there is a group of mechs or drones to deal with... do you think there is a way down into this tunnel you two have found.. there has to be some kinda access but we might take an age to find one..
I would warn against deeper exploration in the astral in case you lose your way - I know someone who has done that.. short trips rather than risking your lives. time is difficult to measure out of body.
Also you need a rally point for you and your meat if things do go down the toilet - you cant just sit in the back of a van which could be easily moved on - there is a doc on the waterfront who can monitor your vitals for a week if needs be.. why not agree to an hour's searching then we move your meats to the doc's place so you will know where to connect?

I'm fine with a set place to get back into my body I'm sure I don't want to be trying to hunt down my shell only to find it dead when I try and get back into it. As for the tunnels with the mechs or drones I say we assume these drones are some of the worst we can think of that way if they are at least we came ready to deal with them. If we start thinking these things are little tinker toys we are walking to our deaths. I say we see which one of use can get use some good, and I mean good ammo so we can put a dent in these things. If it turns out we over did it that means we will just have some supplies for latter when we do come across something that needs a bit bigger bang. Odds are that will happen.
Micro puts out his smoke he let burn down to the filter in the astray on the table then thinks to himself on where to get the ammo. Well Andy that dwarf I just got to know may have some ammo that could punch through the armor of a drone. Also if someone has the cash and the skills he maybe able to get them a big gun. The bigger the better, just make sure that there is a way to get it to the tunnels with out Lone Star seeing or we will be down 1 shadowrun for a little while. Micro thinks this to himself waiting to see if anyone rasies their hand with a place to get the ammo.
Micro adds another thingI think I could find the stuff not sure if he will have it, the cost, or how long. If I do go knocking on his door and not being a big gun guy what kind of ammo or upgraded weapon are looking for if we are going to be looking to take out the best drones you can think of? Micro asks this since he is more into slinging spells and doesn't know much about drones.
One last thing the tunnel Shade and I saw was sealed up good so we are going to have to get some gear to cut through that stuff unless you want to run around in a tunnel only to have to come back later. Micro puts his hand on his chin as he starts to think to himself. I'm thinking Andy may have some of the stuff we are after, I'm not sure it isn't like the guy gives out fliers saying what he is housing or the time for delivery for what has to be "Special Ordered." Oh well I'll ask and see what he can and can't get when we get a list and some creds together. I'll set up a meet, I know he will not want to be talking about this stuff over the phone that would be a good way to find one of his nice toys being pointed at my head from a few miles away.

"Maybe we can haggle our way past the chop shop. Everyone likes money." A lot of what was down there was confirmed in the police files Shade had. "-and there's no way I am leaving my body with someone I don't know."

Bishop turned his head to Henri, being conscious not to shake his head as he spoke.
"Negative on the first aid, but I'm sure I can get him to tell us something..."
He started walking towards the knife wound victim, stopping as he reached them and kneeling down beside him.
"Looks like you've got yourself a punctured lung old boy. Now I can take away the pain a little and call the EMTs as your friend asked, but first I'm going to require some information from you. For you now can just nod or shake your head.
"Question one: Do you have an blood-borne diseases that you know of?"

Chuck brings up the question of becoming infected by the viral blood.. the info that F-E has gathered from the medical tests indicate that the virus has to be incubated and passed from carrier to recipient maintaining the incubation... Illiya notes that the difference between the temperatures of people and the vampire could have something to do with them needing a ceremony or a draining of the recipient's blood which would lower their body heat enough to accept the infection.. conversely a raging fever could kill off the virus - or a flamer The colder blood mist splattered around ought not to be infectious unless there was something of a similar temprature to infect
I fully understand your concern Shade - so what do you want us to do with your meat if you are over four hours ? - you would really need to be hooked into a biostation after that so you dont suffer system shock or even the docwagon teams rescuing you. Once you are inside their hospital your astral will not be able to connect as they maintain a warding for protection Is there somewhere safe to keep your meat that you can get back to with ease?
the ganger bubbles blood then drools out a gobbet Blood... disease.. cough* none he shakes his head then looks to the pooling blood on his tee then back to Bishop and the stimpatch..
Bishop can tell in his eyes that the guy is trying to say the right things so he will get treatment - the guy knows that there is something in his bloodstream - or at the least he suspects that something is there..
