There was an excellent series in the 2000AD comic .. Zenith. where there were factions all kinda united but having different agendas too.. When the corrupted villain kills off two or three of the punker heroes the politician steps in with 'tyger tyger' and the foe drops - as he had already been mind zapped by the guy.. when asked why he had not saved the punkers his reply was something along the lines of 'political expediency' - which I thought real mean especially for a mainstream comic.. he let them go to the wall because they may have proven to be too much trouble in the future.. on a merrier note, I have been thinking about the phases after the coming ones.. it was your reminders about removing each other that prompts me to remind you how the addie has been quietly creeping up - bigger tougher cleverer opponents - I dont kill people off for the sake of it but I wont pull punches.. you were all lucky that it was Chuck who got ripped recently - anyone else would be dead.

In the meantime - people are looking into acces routes -
Shade and Micro may consider going underground - the recent umming an aahing regards sight in the astral still goes - think of the city as blackout but you being living beings would glow enough to see by. There ought to be a guide on astral lighting so let us use F1 spells = 1 candlepower = a magic level of 1 = moss = devilrat = feeble lighting/starlight = negatives on spotting up to F6 spells = brightly lit = magic level of 6 = a mature tree = a roomfull of people/ animal pack = bright daytime = bonusses to spot
anything bigger or more intense would be military starshell flares /a full rave / hydroponics algae tanks. Means big spells or elementals will be noticed as bright sources to attract attention.
Bottom line - you can always see in the astral - and reasonably well too! all over the cityscape would be little spirits astral travellers spells wardings etc - quite busy really in the astral.
Chuck makes inroads and gets someone else to do the legwork - course he has just paid out a wedge which he has recently done the legwork for too! The derelict leads you to a standard cluttered alley - theres a lot of devil rats scuttering around whatcha want Benjamin? you an your pal can pull up a box... maybe your pal here is after something he doesnt yet have otherwise he wouldnt be here would you Troggy boy? lets get down to basics whatcha want and whatcha got to trade?
She speaks from inside the plascard crate - hands wrapped with bracelets and bangles wave towards a couple of boxes followed by a wrinkled ork face that peers out into the gloom of the alley.. rat shaman for sure...

Well I'd like to know what you know of the sewers here in the area. Ya know, the ways in and out of. What I'll find down there and what not. As for trading. Well I don't have much on me. But if you name a price then I can see if I can meet it. I'll have to check my saddle bags on the bike but I'm sure I can get something. Chuck thinks I can't get away from spell worms. What is there a plague of the slots.
The area I'm looking at is around the gang den of the Rednecks, I know a few access points but I'm looking for all I can find. Also ones that will fit my slim size With a little smile. And lastly I'd like to know what's down there that'll give me troubles. Not the normal stuff like rats and bugs and drek. But the big slots that'll leave me with scars.

Bishop observed the spectacle with grim dispassion, no longer surprised at the savagery human and metahuman kind could inflict upon one another. He looked on as the new gang rained blows down upon their rivals as the haze of their adrenaline made them blissfully unaware of the damage their weapons were wreaking on their victims' bodies. Later, perhaps they would cry to themselves and say 'I didn't mean to kill him'.
Bishop wondered if this new bunch would be any better or worse than the old regime.

Let's see what I know of down there - up till a week ago there was a stink left by the ghoul - I see that you have already heard that bit of news.. we had kept clear of the place because of the gangers and the influence of something else unsavoury that I couldnt get a fix on
then the place gets hit by the military and there is a lot of crete pumped into access routes - keeps most things out because the main access routes are closed down.. but once the place is vacated there are ways in - they cant seal everywhere up an my friends are good at finding access routes...
yes is the answer even for a big guy like you - I can show you the way inside
Now for the deal - you will have already seen the sewers - filled to the brim - well I know what's keeping it that way and I would like it removed. City dont care unless it overflows but it erm - restricts traffic - means I dont get to go where I want without a heap of trouble.
You wont be working on your own so I figure theres something you want in there... you remove a problem for me an I solve a problem for you.
An idea of what you might be up against? a couple of chemmed-up pinkskin boffs an some mechanicals - yeah thats the things - drones - not the sort of thing that my devilrats can take a bite out of. What are they doing there? I never stopped long enough to ask em - where are they..? well that I can sort out real quick.. youwant directions from above or below.. An if youre good enough to remove this problem for me then I dont want you on my badside so I'm good for the information on getting in through the crete blockages.

"I wonder if those three have any information that could be useful to us - I suppose we could spare one of them for now." Henri looks to where the one sided brawl is quickly coming to an end. One of the three is still conscious enough to crawl over to her not so fortunate friends, despite repeated blows to the head. The other two are not so fortunate; one is lead face down on the asphalt with a vacant look in his eyes and blood dribbling from an ear. The other is face up, coughing up blood with his hands clasped over his torso, more blood oozes between his fingers in regular pulses. The female ganger whispers something to the stab victim & looks around desperately. Her gaze falls on Bishop and Henri and her words sound both desperate and slightly slurred. ”You two, help! Please! Call the EMTs…he’s gonna die…” The girl’s eyes swim out of focus for a few seconds, no doubt due to being on the wrong end of a baseball bat & chain several times. A few rubber-neckers follow the ganger’s gaze to the two ‘runners to see what happens next. ”There’s our low profile down the drekker. You know first-aid?” Henri looks to where the new kids are running back to their van. ”Maybe I can grab one of these slags, find out who’s taking over round here” He murmurs a few words in Latin, then focuses on the rear-most runner and simply instructs him ”Stop running!”, throwing the weight of his will behind the command.
