The meet concluded, Bishop broke down his rifle and packed it into a brown holdall. He briskly made his way from his vantage point down to the ground floor and out of the building, making the short walk of a few blocks to where he had parked his car - a little exercise never hurt anybody, though having their car connected with a shoot-out and several murders probably did.
He made his way back to the compound separately and connected up with the rest of the group for debrief.

Wrench shrugs a little. "Sure, we could get some fraggin powerful jammer. Good chance it'd shut down any other drones. But I don't think it's a good idea. One, the jammer's ranger would spill over into the other areas of this area. This commune isn't the only one in the part and I doubt they'd be happy. Not to mention it'd draw massive amounts of notice from all over. Two, it'd also screw up Meg's own drones to some extent. Plus anyone on the defensive team's gonna loose comms too, just like the bad guys. Maybe having it but leaving it shut off until necessary. Not to mention, there's ways around Jammers. Hell, I've even got a few. " He shrugs again.
"Honestly, I think going overkill is a bad idea. Or blatantly at least. This place is really small potatoes when you get down to it. If you go blatantly overkill and powered, it'll just draw notice. And you have to assume, given the size here, that the bad guys will be able to field bigger and more stuff. We'll need to fight and plan smarter, not harder."
"A heavy strike and response is good. But it should be low key, if not invisible, until it goes down. Not sure about all those spirits things but physical stuff we need to watch. Plus, what happens when the perimeter is breach, 'cause you gotta believe it will be at some point. A nice panic room with the valuable isn't a bad idea. Keeps the people safe as well as her merchandise. If the uber jammer was there too, that might help. Wouldn't be long before security, not to mention the Star, would show with it going full blast."
"As for drones, the big stuff will get noticed easy. The tarps and buildings will keep 'em from really noticiin drek. The little ones require 2 option I figure. Packages coming in need to be searched by hand carefully. And someone good with a scanner or some automated method would need to be set up to cycle through and look for drones signals. Combined, that should keep the spy drones and such from sneaking in."
He scratched his chin idly for a moment. "There's more we can do but that's a good base and start."

Wrench made some good points. "What about jamming all the freq's but the ones we're using?"
((I don't remember if sr3 has a smart jammer or not))

Good ideas.. - jammers will interfere with other corp units in the area and they will call in paid help - good to stop drones but it will infuriate anyone else around.. I am reliabl informed that the signal will be traced very quickly and a city missile used to interrupt the hostile broadcast.. probably from a police platform.
Perimeter breach should be taken care of by the bots - and there is a saferoom inside - we need a few drills - but when theres research going in full swing noone will want to leave their benches.. but that is the point I need to tell the students that they can drop their research for twenty minutes so they can continue a while later..
Even if we get going really well there will still only be a low overall profile on this place - it is not wildly interesting - we will be creating powders and products but nothing that a corporation would want to take over - so robbery or kidnap will be the main reason to hit us in order to squeeze yen..
Sideline activities may raise a few eyebrows - like Wrench says it is small potatoes - local wrangling between small organisations..
I wanted to ask about spells - low power spells have a habit of being targetted from the astral - but I can create ones that can be turned on and off - you mages got suggestions what would be useful for the sammies - if of course they would use them.. I thought 'float' as it doesnt affect anyone apart from yourself and it would be most likley to be used to get to where you want to be.. prior to any activity that may involve the astral..
And supporting this Jimmy Bean seems like a good idea - who wants to go into Chinatown and give him some support with this cousin.. some medtec could be useful.. if noone has a professional rating, then I could get over there to make a diagnostic if you think one is required..
We have an invite - let's get to it..
The site seems perfectly fine with the students still crushing, pasteing purifying and the rest on a wide variety of unusual components..

Wrench shrugged. "Drills and such? Yeah, practice would be good. And if we're worrying about kidnapping, we'll need to tag everyone with a receiver that no one knows is there preferably. Maybe ingested or something." He shrugs.
"I can go if needed. Also can handle the medic job if we don't have a professional medic around."

"I know a pinch of mundane medicine but I also have a heal spell. I can also perform a good diagnoses with assessment." I didn't like the idea of spells for sammies. It was bad enough that FE had spells. What ever happened to standards?

"Yeah I could be interested in that spell business..can't have to much edge in combat or elsewhere. I would like to meet that cousin and Mr. Bean, if only not to have a bunch of people he never saw drop in art his place, kinda keeping the same 'connection' so to speak. Plus I,m ok with First aid, and I got a good medkit if it needs be."

Make the meet then - you got Jimmy Bean's addy - call him on the way as it is only good manners to acknowledge your invitation.
His business operations will have strictures - what you going to take - an who will look after the jettissoned gear?
Shade and F-E look like they're in
I will summon a couple of spirits to maintain security here for the night

There have been a few questions put around regarding 'vampires' in Seattle.. there is a lot of laffs and a lot of scared sideways glances. the recent trid intel on the undead has polarised opinion... they exist or.. they cant exist
Your own evidence is flimsy - though there has been a huge amount of cash splashed around in the search for what they are or the existance of such.. Spirits yes undoubtably - but spirit made flesh - or flesh made spirit ?
Maybe the high echelons of the magical tradition know - just like they should have known about Insect Spirits...
The only real whisper you get is through the Star... unsolved: impossible cases.. There is a 'Mulder' down there who will bend your ear regarding alien invasion - the only reason he keeps his job is he is a bloody good mortician.. but his theories do not connect with the facts. Theres a big backlog of unsolved in Seattle as you may imagine.. Same as most places with the breakdown of public trust in what is deemed law and order..
Illiya adds to the listings with the problem of dissappearances put down to the DNA changes - people just drop out of sight which is a reason why the corps have it so good keeping a tab on their employees. Its why the corps close their doors on anything they dont know.. or can control
Runners know how easy it is to drop out of sight - a few grand and a doc to remove the SIN.. then it is up to you

He sad down and took the card out. He was calling close to the meet they had, but since it wasn't a woman or anything like that, it wasn't a problem
"Good day Mr. Bean. I am Delacroix, I believed we met a little south of here in a diner. I have spoken with my employer and he is interested in helping you and your cousin. We are available right now to meet you if you wish."

Wrench nods in response to F-E. "Sure. Don't hurt to learn something new. Usually," he adds with a grin. He hops to his feet to stretch. "Let me know when we're off. I'm good to go."

Chuck comes back to the school at around 0300 hrs leading and all night delivery van to the main gate. Once he parks his bike he goes over to the van and helps unload his gear that he bought after he talked to his contacts.
This should make me comfortable in that office space. Ha ha a home just isn't a home until to you pick out some stuff to make it a home. After his meet with his contacts Chuck went to an all night Dept. store and picked up a K or 2 worth of stuff to make his room into a livable space.
