Bobby was being led to the van when the halloweener shoving Pelch into the van ahead of him lost his head in an explosion of blood and gore, splattering the side of the van. Pelch screeched something that Bobby couldn't hear and then dived back behind the Jackrabbit he'd been hiding behind before. Bobby looked around confusedly, as the other two Gangers were dispatched in short order as well, the blood and bone fragments scattering everywhere, and covering Bobby somewhat. Wheels just stood there looking around confusedly as people scattered here and there, his hearing still ringing from the explosion in the van moments before...
After a short amount of time, Mao popped out from the gangers van and moved to help some children who seem to have been wounded from the blast. Pelch came out from his hidehole and took Bobby into the Jack-o-Lantern, placing him on a stool before giving him a bottle. As they entered, Bobby saw the flash of lights announcing the imminent arrival of the star, and the dwarf noticed one or two more Halloweeners fading into the background, disappearing down alleys and into doorways.
Freddy the new addition to the group seemed to be examining the dead gangers, but that was all Bobby saw before the darkness of the bar enclosed him like a womb. Bobby sat on the stool and drank straight from the bottle, toasting the Bartender as the bartender walked by, helped the walking wounded inside along with his thugs and the rest of Bobby's team.

Henri accepts the assistance from Freddy as he gets to his feet. With his ears still ringing, he brushes the dust, door fragments and glass out of his clothes & hair as best he can. Feeling his lower back, he's relieved to find that the wet patch there is nothing more that the remains of some spilled beer he landed in.
"You get anything Henri?" "Frag all from in there" Henri replies, "Too much ambient drek in there to get anything but a signature". While the three bruisers are busy with Pelch, Mao and Wheels (?), Henri assenses the area ouside the 'Lantern indicated by Freddy. "There's always time if you've got a good enough distraction".
Assensing: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Rule Of 6: [dice=6][dice=6]
Aura Reading: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6]
"What the...? Someone with a lot of chrome was here alright, but our firebug's got enough juice about them that they should be able to take all comers without needing a razorguy to b..." Henri's sentence is cut short by the 'thwack' of metal hitting bone followed by the supersonic crack of the bullet's journey. He turns toward the sound of the bullet's impact and sees one of the bruiser's aura turn from a vibrant, living person's to that of a dead piece of meat. Realising that he'd only been half listening to his comm, he decides to keep quiet about his lapse and watches four more shots strike home.
"Split up, head for the hide out, make sure no one is following. That is, unless someone has a better plan." More than a little surprised that no-one followed this order from the group's leader. Not yet knowing the full story behind Mao's visit to Slash & Tony, and not wanting to be anywhere near the scene when the 'Star turn up, Henri is about to give them a kick up the hoop to get them moving when Mao carries on injured kid up to him with an expectant look on his face.
Initially tempted to say "Frag it, let the 'Star deal with it" and follow 'Widow's order, Henri decides it'd be best to stick around with the majority of the group. Leaving an injured kid might not sit too well he was pretty sure running out on them wouldn't either. He was confident his fake ID would hold up and he could 'persuade' the cops he was just passing through when it all went down. Thinking back to his military days, Henri tries to remember the rudimentary instructions given to him by his unit's medic and checks the kid over as well as possible. Breathing a sigh of relief when he sees the kid has only superficial injuries, he looks up at Freddy and the queue of injured people that's appeared behind him. "Henri - once we're finished here, I gotta fly - can you collect up my gear once I'm gone?" "Huh? What gear?" Slotted off at being volunteered as a medic, despite having no medical training, Freddy's statement doesn't help any. Pulling him to one side, out of earshot of the civilians Henri hisses "What do you mean you gotta fly? We're on a job and waist deep in drek!!" After the first shot Quick saw that half of the first guys skull was missing but his second shot only appeared to have shattered the other guys shoulder but he continued and fired at the last one and while he hit squarely in his chest the man dropped to one knee blood frothing out of his mouth but seemed determined to get back up. At this point he fired again at the second guy dropping with a bullet to the throat and as the last man stood he got anther bullet in the chest and fell for the last time dead. Then on the comm he hears Widow "Split up, head for the hide out, make sure no one is following. That is, unless someone has a better plan" but after a couple seconds he sees that instead everyone is goin back in and helpin the people in the parking lot slightly perturbed he speaks on the comm " Are we staying or goin the Star are all but here?"

OOC: I hope I'm doing this right...
Mao was standing in the middle of the street close to the rest of the spectators that had been flushed out after the fireball. He knew his car was rigged and made sure no one got on or close to it until it was thoroughly checked out. Problem was...Wheels starting bailing from underneath his van and he knew then that the second shot was coming their way. The first attack was the fireball...to flush the occupants of the place out more than likely. If the target got killed...great. If not..they'ld be flushed out and plan B would go into effect. Mao quickly sprawled along the ground as the explosion from his van spew pieces of metal all over the street. He didn't even bother to check what was left since it was time for some payback...it'll come out of Dom's expenses later...but it wasn't him that rigged the bomb.
Mao was still somewhat banged up from his previous encounters and this Tony if he wanted him to really pass on his message to Dom would in no way have pulled such a stunt that might kill him. They'ld have to pinpoint the exact group later... Luckily he was a tough SOB and was used to pain well enough and put it out of his mind mometarily. He quickly rolled onto the curb and quickly assessed the situation. Widow's orders came in right after he heard the sound of a few bullets hitting metal. Mao quickly put her orders out of mind considering that running was not an option especially when he had no ride plus there was no guarantee that everyone else could make it back either. Funny how the team questioned about his behavoiur as to when to run and when to fight...he was going to have to rub it in Widow's face later...
He pulled out his colt manhunter and tried to track down the trajectory of the shots as to their source. It had to have come from the roof for the shooter to have the best vantage point...but which one?
The next shot is fired and he sees someone go down...one of the gangers probably. Next were the innocent bystanders...it seemed that they weren't choosy about who was getting pegged. He quickly glanced back and scrutinized the area with his cybernetic eye. A brief flash of light was reflected...as if from some sort of moving metallic object...sniper rifle? Whoever it was...they were on the roof of the freaking Lantern...
Mao quickly looked for the best way into the Lantern. Most of the crowd had dispersed into small random pockets...but a number of folks were wounded. In particular a small kid was was grimacing in pain... Mao made a beeline for the kid and the door to the Lantern...
"Flush them out from where the shooter was...damn good plan..."
There was no time for him to heal the kid and there were probably others that were better at it. He handed the kid to the one of the mages that had came in with Widow.
"I need a way up to the roof Chuckles!"
The bartender looked confused but knew Mao somewhat well enough now to trust him and pointed in the direction of the stairs. The elevators would be shut down due to the earlier explosion...
Mao plowed into the door and continued up the stairs with his manhunter drawn. The shooter would need a way off the roof...either he had a ride up there...or he'ld be making his way back down...and Mao would be there to greet him...

OOC: "Much better. Everyone did very well expanding on the Chaos in the area. Good descriptions and I see a lot of improvement. To bad Krondax is having problems because it keeps Widow from reacting. Maybe I'll do some work on her tonight to help out a bit.
Johnson informs me Milenko is also having some computer problems, so Matt Rixx may be a tad slow responding. Hope that doesn't spike your Wheels to badly, Boombaby. (Sorry about the pun but I couldn't resist, mate.)
Nice Roll Henri, let's give you some information you can use. You assense that the insect shaman who tossed the fireball serves the Totem of the Anopheles Mosquito. This is the most deadly insect known to humans in the shear number of deaths it has caused. During the blood meals the females may either acquire or transmit various disease organisms. Many species of Anopheles mosquitoes, recognizable by their tilted resting position, carry the protozoan parasites that cause malaria; species of the genus Aedes transmit the viruses responsible for yellow fever, jungle yellow fever, and dengue fever; and in the Southern United States and in the tropics, members of the genus Culex, to which the common house mosquito belongs, are vectors of filariasis, the infection by a filarial worm that causes elephantiasis, and human encephalitis. It's probably more than you want or need to know right now. I'll let you do some thinking on what this IMPLIES.
Mao? Why do I get the impression that you do NOT check back in the previous threads BEFORE you make a move? Not that we can't accommodate your addition but were you aware that Quick was the shooter or are you trying to add something different to the story line for your own reasons? I see two minor flaws with your post.
First I wouldn't have put a sniper on the roof of the Lantern for obvious reasons. The most basic one is; what is to keep Quick from taking him out from his higher vantage point, because Quick would have seen him first? The sniper on the Lantern wouldn't be shooting at us if he was still there, he would be shooting at Quick before Quick got him! If he was there before Quick started shooting and he most likely was then I would have had Quick roll a perception roll to pick him up.
This is a lesson to everyone to be very careful to try to keep the placement of the party members in mind and to consider THEIR abilities in whatever move you make. ALWAYS ERR on the side that they ARE COMPETENT and will catch obvious things like this. If you insert a part that affects THEIR rolls and Skills you have to WARN them and give them time to react if they CAN take a part logically, either by OOC in thread or privately. This would have also included Freddy's and Henri's detections they have out! Their spirit's would have warned them long before this as well and I have no doubt that both of them could have dealt with this long before you got up the stairs. (So if anyone else already in place makes a good roll and posts before Mao does again, you may react! The only ones excluded from that action are Wheels, Widow and Pelch for obvious reasons. Nice try Mao, keep trying, as no harm is done. )
Second the Star is pretty much here. A smart sniper would be departing after the previous failed attempts unless he is completely hyped up on drugs and out of his mind. Not good for a sniper. You see the sniper has to be there for a purpose. If it was over watch like Quick is doing, he would have started shooting at Quick after Quick started firing! If not over watch then why shoot at all? The fireball didn't work, the bomb in the van didn't work, the fake pick up didn't work. Having been blown that bad why shoot now with the Star on Top of everything? Better to steal away, or does this guy have a task or goal I am not aware of?
Anyway I am inclined to let you run with it since I am not sure what you are trying to do here, I'll wait and see what you are going to accomplish. You DO have a plan here, right?
Now onto a Widow Post.

OOC: Pelch, "Dwarf or Midget? They BOTH are, the correct phrase is little people, not canary wharf or gimp! Did you know, The ACLU, has not, in my experience acknowledged such issues as forcible eviction, denial of housing, or employment and education when it comes to people with Dwarfism? The response from them was "We don't recognize that there is any such race as the Dwarf race. I think I'll park Mao's van down near THEIR building and let Wheels deactivate it." Widow looked at the scene and realized that there are just certain times when being the leader REALLY SUCKS oozing DREK! It appeared no one had a better plan, but no one was leaving either! She looked closely at her group and then had to smile with some pride. This was a pretty hardcore bunch. Each and every one of them a survivor and hard calloused at that. Yet, even when they were being hunted they put themselves at risk to help each other and even the civilians! Sure they put on the tough act, but Mao was carrying an injured child. There was Pelch, helping a bleeding Wheel's in where Henri could sort them out. She shrugged. Maybe it was better to stick it out. She got off her bike and went over to Freddy as he was talking to Henri. Mao suddenly went by charging up the steps. She didn't know why but shrugged and let him go. She motioned Freddy over and spoke quietly, "It looks like the crew has made a decision for us. Democracy in action and all that. We have almost no choices left here. Lone Star is going to question everyone on the site, especially given the body count." She activated the link to Quick while still talking with Freddy, "Quick, get out of the area now before the Star locks things down. Report to JJ and tell her what's going on and have her get us a lawyer. I have the feeling someone will put pressure on the Star to hold us a while as Material Witnesses." She cut off Quick and spoke to Freddy again. "Freddy, you have a SIN and haven't really been involved and I suspect Henri will be safe as well. The Star won't mess with the SIN's. Pelch, Wheels, Mao and I are another story. Pelch and Mao especially are going to have MAJOR problems with the Star. You guys better pull in your spirits and watchers before the FRT's mages start to wonder about them. When you get clear I want you to meet with Quick at the Siren and then get to the hideout. Put your heads together and see if you guys have enough clues so that we can make a plan. Do some research if you need to. Tell JJ when you see her to get us a DECKER FAST! Use the Decker to research what you need to know and give me a plan of action when I get back. Good Luck, I'm counting on you." Widow walked over to Wheels and examined him. She cursed to herself for a moment. That STUPID FRAGGING PELCH! You don't give a person with concussion a depressant and let them go to sleep! Quickly getting a very cold wash rag she wiped off the blood on his face and neck. The cold water woke Wheels up a and he reached for the bottle. Widow tossed it aside and helped pull the rigger to his feet. "No you don't soldier," she admonished him good naturedly, "on your feet." Wheels grumbled just as several Lone Star troopers entered the room. "Now who's going to tell me what the FRAG is going on down here?", said a large ork. "I'm Sargent Harry Braxton and I would like some answers." Widow looked at the ork a moment and then from behind the bar came a voice she recognized as not only drunk but the voice of complete and utter idiocy. She almost cringed. She never got a chance to answer the question before disaster struck. "Harry Braxton! When did they promote an idiot like you to Sargent? Last I heard you were licking urinals for your degenerate masters after you gave Krass that ticket for him calling you a dick on top of a horse." Pelch stated staggering out with a bottle in each hand, "So what happens now? Is there a horse around with No Dick?"Braxton glared, "Pelch Gobwit! I'm so glad to see you. The Star has some questions for you concerning the murder of Captain Tim Knuckles. Now I find your scruffy hoop mixed up down here with more trouble. Better enjoy your booze now, moron, where your going, you won't see anything like booze for a long time!" He motioned to a couple of Troopers who hustled Pelch out to the City Master. "BASTARDS!", screamed Pelch as they took his booze away. Braxton smiled, "No need to be gentle with that fragger boys." He stated with glee, "He wouldn't understand it anyway."He looked around the bar, "Anyone want to show me a SIN before we get started?" He asked with a smile. "By the way, if you hand me a FORGED one and I discover it, you are going to wish you were NEVER born."

As soon as Widow finished sayin to clear out to Quick he saw the Star flyin by and in what seemed a hurry even for them. At this point he knew his job here was done and quickly and as discreet as possible he took apart and packed his rifle and headed back to the Siren to see J.J..

OOC: Pelch, "Is that a good thing? Looks like I have to allow a little more time. It could be people are waiting for a little more of a clue? If so let's try to make it clearer."
Mao tells me he does have a plan. He explained it to me and while not a bad plan, the situation and timing don't make it very workable at the moment. My advice is he shelve it, but I won't make that a firm order. He can continue his plan if he wants to and maybe he can make it work. Or he can close it down and wait a bit for the more opportune moment. That is why I am waiting for that decision on his part.
Now Henri and Freddy will probably get away with only minor questioning. Lone Star has no reason to really roust either of you, especially if you have SIN's or a reasonably good counterfeit. (If it's counterfeit make a roll to see how good the documentation is.) You both have some orders from Widow so that should not be a problem. Pretending you don't know each other and the other members of the group would be a "GOOD" thing at this time.
Widow the Star will question you. If you stick fairly closely to the time line on when you arrived, what happened from that point on and can supply a good LIE as to why you are there at that time, you are probably going to walk shortly after that. That is as long as you also appear to be unrelated to any actual crimes!
Wheels, "The Star is going to be suspicious of you. They suspect you might have something to do with the wreckage you left out on I-5 and they are going to have several civilian witnesses that the Wasp was yours. They are going to be asking you some very tough questions, because they are going to believe that you might be a part of what is going on around here. It will be interesting to see what you tell them and they will try to trip you up on detail and with things they KNOW from the witnesses, their yaps and some squeals.
Pelch and Mao, "The situation for us is the worst. The Star has been looking for Mao and now he has trapped himself on the roof. The building is surrounded and at least TWO FRT (Fast Response Teams) with heavy bang/bang and magical support are fanning out to search. Witnesses are being questioned. We are going to be hauled in. I don't care what stories we want to tell or how well we lie. Harry Braxton is an 'honest' cop and he is going to want some answers! He figures the easiest way is get them out of the SIN less like Pelch and if or when he discovers Mao he is going to be baring down hard on both of us. When the interrogation starts? We better both have a plan of action! As Pelch I have mine, will you have yours and will our stories jive when we can't talk them over first? They are going to keep us separate during the questioning.
Now Quick, it's not going to be that easy to get out of the area, especially with your case. I want to see you make some rolls and actually get past several checkpoints of troopers. I want you to actually describe the technique you use. Be aware I will be looking at it closely as well as your rolls. You are going to encounter at least TWO checkpoints with four cops at each and they are going to be very suspicious. Good Luck.

Freddy dismisses the spirit and hides the comms earpiece - Quick was off - he had made the right call, those weeners were there far too sharpish, so had to be in on the attack...
A couple of rounds Healing bloody cuts and chatting with Henri while the still mobile members squirmed their way out of the star's clutches - good lukk all!
A meet with Slash oculd be organised later to cement relations - but that was for later
Just like busses - it all hits at once.. Freddy puts a call through to his mate the Doc - to sort out an ambulance and intensive for Meg.. that sorted..
Looks like theres a no fly zone in effect now Henri.. we could easily blend with hte crowd and possibly give Mao some overwatch - as long as their mages cant spot it... Gawd, five minutes ago I would have left to help someone else. But thats now in hand, let's see what good we can do here.
I thought Insect shaman - your analysis is better though. If it is , then were up against a whole heap of trouble.. we should stick together for the time being and make it back to the Tomato-lair to get some digging done, and keeping an eye out for what we can do for the others... but quietly!
They've got witchfinders with them - Star Magical support - theyll do an astral survey, I hope Mao remembers what I told him about staying in cover.. If we stay in the crowd, we shouldnt be spotted as awakened
If Mao has a fone with him - Freddy will put a call through - Star's got astral support - stay hard to see, keep in cover mate.. see you at the lair - I'll keep this line open keep you informed - looks like two eight man teams going into the Lantern plus light patrol support outsiWHEEEEEEEEEE
A Star van had pulled up - an onboard jammer squealing any localised standard frequencies - allowing through their own
The two of them will hustle along from the scene with the dozens of others - many avoiding the star, others rubbernecking at the plumes of smoke, and arriving emergency services
You two - you were here earlier wern't you - I want to, er I want to - I want to ask you some questions maam yes you with the shopping
With the astral forms of the two wichfinders rocketing off giving the outside of the nearby buildings a swift once-over, a cantrip or two from the two mages takes them rapidly through the hastily-drawn up cordon to a vantage point at the side of the park where they can see the Lantern and maybe help Mao from afar
History of Magick to know something truthful about insect spirits
[dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] general stuff - more than the trid casts, but nothing much concrete -
they exist, in hives, and unify host humans with insect spirit - to create a sort of hybrid that has a physical presence - a popular theory is that they need to be anchored in the human world - You met or know about the hive Henri? come across anyone in the forces who went to Chicago?
(OOC Freddy can only post once in a while untill September time.. but should be able to do big blitzes every so often ! RL getting in the way again!)

As Quick gets goin towards the Siren he sees life is never that easy right around the corner there are 2 of Star's cars with 4 cops given people drek to get out. Steping back behind the corner he decides to try to go with the first plan he could think to get out and to the Siren. At this point he takes off his two pistols and there holsters and places them into his case carefully securing them so as to not have any damage accidentally done to anything inside. He then looks towards the spirit he had summoned.
" I want you to conceal this and bring it to the place I am thinking of and wait there till I arrive." At this point he visualizes the Siren and hands over the briefcase. " Make sure you are not seen."
As the spirit floats upwards and disappears with all of his guns he thinks to himself "Hope I live to regret that." Headin towards the cops he makes sure his SIN is ready and that he doesn't look to out of place.
When he approaches the cops the two in back put there hands on there guns and the other two ask "Where do you think your goin?" responding Quick says "Can't get a cab and I need to get to work. In a bit of a rush running kinda late." Cops almost laughs at him but continues "You got some id to prove this and ahh, where do you work?" Answering honestly Quick states "I am the head Bartender at the Siren use to be the Eager Beaver think I remember seein you there not too long ago, ya you seemed to take a liking to Jorinda if I remember right." At this point he no longer wanted the chatter and told him to turn around and put his hands on the car. Quick turned and did as he was told. The cop frisked him and when he found his sword pulled it off him and asked "You got a permit for this?" Quick nods and shows his permit , at this time the other cop comes back turns his back towards Quick and faces the first cop "His SIN checks out." the cop after hearing this tells Quick alright move along and stay out of trouble. Quick still lookin at him "Can I have my sword back also?" The cop hands it back an Quick leaves as fast as he can without running.
That was painless he thinks to himself only to see after 3 blocks down at the exit to Denny park was anther group of cops and they seemed alot more agitated by all the people trying to come an go.

OOC: Pelch, "I appreciate the notification, Wolflet. I also received your private message of explanation. If I may be permitted, I would like to take the liberty and share this with our other members.
I am already aware that Mao is deep into a college routine and that Krondax is also feeling the load. So is Mr. J as well as some of the other corporates."
If you all would permit me, let me make this policy clear to all once again. I know it's boring that I reiterate this but sometimes it is a good thing to make it noticeable to newcomers visiting the Proboards.
It is understood that at times life will take it's toll on our time, and will scream with a loud shrill voice into our ears, demanding our attention. This is after all a hobby. The game will of course proceed at it's own pace if allowances are made in advance.
I have made such allowances in the design of this game. As long as you have no objection to people moving your character around for you, then any 'reasonable' absence from the game should not be a problem. Now some will not get your characters attitudes quite the way you might think they should be, but that is a small price to pay for the service and flexibility it allows you.
Summer is a time when I realize that the game might take on a slower pace due to holiday, or vacations. It is one of the reasons this particular game was set up this way. It takes into account that players might have a long lapse between postings due to emergencies, increased workload, family concerns and what not.
That is one reason that I encourage players to move and interact with the characters, so that if a person has to drop for a while, they can successfully play the missing players character and keep it in the action with no loss of story line continuity. This way the missing player can rejoin later, read back through the storyline and then reenter with little game disruption for others who can continue.
The drawback to this method is that some people don't like their character played for them. I respect that attitude, of course, but I have to weigh that against situations such as this that occur all to frequently. In a perfect world where emergencies never happen or we don't HAVE a LIFE in the first place, we could eliminate that necessity. Unfortunately, we all 'do' have other demands and given the real life situations we find ourselves in, I have found this method to be the lesser of two evils.
It speaks well that you let the other players KNOW if your posting schedule is reduced so that we can keep you in play. This is summer. Try to enjoy it.

Mr. Johnson? Would you Trust him? pics.greatestjournal.com/userpic/14880103/469496OOC: Pelch, "Time to move on. Quick, you are doing extremely well with your last post. I noticed only one possible flaw. I explained that to you privately. I want to see if you can work through it. If you need some more direction let me know.
Mao, I also covered your problem as well. I still want to see you work through that but I won't wait forever. I'll hold off on you as long as the storyline permits, but if you don't resolve it then I certainly will when I get to the point where I need to deal with you for the continuity and time-lines sake. So far that is not an immediate concern but could change if the other players post in such a fashion as to increase the speed of the storyline."
Tonight I start the sorting of the SIN FULL and the SIN LESS! That MUST be a KRASS term it completely reverses the normal meaning. This is how I see it:
Freddy has a well written HISTORY that strong suggests he has a legit SIN. I am going to state now that he does! He will need no roll and will not have any tough questions considering what Braxton knows. He is golden. ;D
Xandria also has a history and a Doc Wagon bracelet! This points strongly in the direction that she does indeed have a legit SIN. I state now for the record that she does and it is up to date and valid! Like Freddy, she will be walking with the right answers. ;D
We all know Quick has a SIN and it is also legit. He can continue in his part of the thread. So far he has given me no reason to be suspicious! He's almost home free!
Henri has a forged SIN under the name Henri Levin at Level 4) . It is going to be checked if he shows it. The question that he faces is how 'good' is the forgery? Well he lives on the low which is not good for this kind of thing. He does have some good points though, he has a Shadowland BBS contact, and Computer Skills at the same Level Four. What good is a forgery if you can't use it? So I decided to have Henri go for it! So let's roll his Level of Forgery at Four with +2 dice for the Shadowland Connection![dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] No doubt about it, he has a high class of forgery! Now let's roll the skill of the Lonestar Analyze Program at Level Two! (How good do you think my simple field device is? So I was bluffing. The only thing I'm likely to catch is idiots like Pelch with forged ID's.) [dice=6] [dice=6] So target Number to detect is 19! So if Henri gets past the questioning, which is very likely, he's gold!
Now as for Wheels, he has a comfortable middle lifestyle. This points the way that he probably does have a legit SIN available especially considering his living area location! For all intents and purposes, while his sheet doesn't say so I am going to act as if he does! However, I am going to ask him some stiff questions before I let him walk. If he gives me good answers, he's gold, if not, well let's say I'll do the protective custody thing until I can do more background on him.
Mao? He has a low lifestyle, but has a LEGENDARY DECKERS skill of 5 and a Cybertechnology Skill of 5. My question is why? Mao does NOT have a data-jack, and no deck listed! Given that lapse I have to take this as meaning that he MIGHT have a contact with a legendary decker like Mycroft, Fast Jack, Dodger, Buddy, Sly, Valerie Valkyrie, or Jack the Ripper and he has a view of how things should work. Again though, I run into problems with opposing information on the character sheet! Down in Mao's contacts NONE of the known legendary deckers are mentioned, nor are his listed contacts at the level that would make then legendary deckers! So given this HISTORY problem I have to make a decision that is logical and explainable according to Mao's sheet and known history from his sheet AND what has been done with him in THREAD. Like the problems encountered on Expoque /Daviks character sheet, adjustments will have to be made that might cause an unpopular reaction until we can smooth out this problem. To do this, I am going to use the Mysterious Cyberware Flaw. Mao's hidden skill-wires have given him these two particular knowledge skills but he has been given him no means to use them! He was scheduled to be fitted with a data jack and extra decker skills but bolted before it happened! Thus he has NO SIN or even a forged one. (meanwhile in future parts of the storyline I'll see about arranging a contact with a legendary decker that will help him.)
Pelch has a data-jack, and has never used it. He has no SIN forged or otherwise. He does know Jack the Ripper who is a protege of Mycroft but he as never asked for a SIN, forged or otherwise. His uneducated skill and total disinterest in acquiring that skill seems to make this an open or shut case. He' dead meat!
So now it's all easier. After a slight and polite talk Harry is going to let Widow and the Mages go. he has nothing on them, not even suspicion.
Wheels is suspected, but can with the right rolls, win free as can Quick.
Mao and Pelch? Well, let's say it's the Stony Lonesome for us. Harry looked around. "I see no one is ready to step forward. It's obvious that I am dealing with a bunch of criminals here."Freddy responded, "Sargent Braxton, as you can see a couple of us are up to our EARS in wounded. Might I suggest that instead of posturing, that you get some medical services in here? After that I am sure I will be more than happy to show you my SIN. As for these others, I suspect most of them are just ordinary people caught in the wrong place at the wrong time! Is it now Lone Star policy to blame the victims rather than the perps?" Henri also commented as he handed a child some water and candy. "I also have a SIN." He handed Braxton his stick and Braxton checked it. It came up clean and he nodded as he accepted Freddy's and then Widow's which also passed easily. Widow motioned at Wheels who she still had on his feet. "This guy was a pilot that was doing some freelance area survey work for Ace Tomato Company. I'm sure they will back up his story if you contact a Vice president Smythe." Widow almost smiled as she thought quickly. Now wouldn't it be nice if Smythe had to deal with the Star for a while. She continued, "He has a sin. He landed to have some lunch and the terrorists bombed his Wasp. He sure was dreked off about that! Then a bomb went off and he's not in too good a shape. Maybe you can save the questions on him for Mr. Smythe."Braxton checked Wheels SIN and it too passed. He looked at the group dis trustingly, "I suppose the Fly-boy knows nothing about a mess out on I-5 yesterday that involved two dwarfs, one which was identified right here?" Widow looked at him blankly, "Sure are a LOT of people with SIN's down here today. Now why would good corporate folks be down in this pest-hole of a place?"[rand=741135704171413180779680053845685582495716679594129744740129947]

Filling JJ in at the Siren, with Quick Henri Freddy and maybe Widow, Wheels and Mao!
Let's go through the list of what we got today - main point is we reccon Tony is an Insect shaman working with a hyper chromhead - Henri can confirm that. Theres a slim lead there, the chromehead may have been picked up on monitors - he wont be a shapechanger and could be ID'eed
Some more info on insects would be good - a decker would be very useful - any freelancers who you know we could use JJ we really do need someone good - one of these Octacoo - like the one that ripped the Beaver Database, but on our side..
The attack on the Lantern was a nasty professional setup to wipe out Pelch Mao and Wheels - and if they did escape they get picked up, there could be a followup from that - who organised that backup group? Pity Quick is so efficient! Slash would start up some investigations that could filter through to us
A supplier of the high tech explosives? Wheels shouted that it looked well posh
It would be good to see the Star report on who saw what - or more important some vid of the area
how did Mao get on organising the meet with Slash ? - we should find out soon enough..
Any chance of Drassell sending a message to the star regarding his old client Pelch?
Mao Pelch and Wheels seem to have been targeted - why them, has anyone had access to their files earlier on? Who was in the group when this guy Davik suddenly left? What else could link them to get Tony on their backs? And why leave Widow out? assuming she was recruited early on... If we know where that leak came from we could follow it up.
That is the bundle of questions that I dont know the answers to - that could provide us with leads to Tony or who he is working with.
If Tony, or should his real name be ANT-thony? he hee.. has been brought in by Nestle to suss out the opposition, then he has done his job to a certain extent..
He infiltrates a big mob, and causes trouble for his target Dom. Dom sends in his own guys to sort out the problem. Tony expecting a war to spark between the weeners and Dom - can sit back and test the opposition The last attack at the Lantern seems blatant, at the least Tony can test the mettle of Dom's crew. See how we react, what sort of resources we can bring to bear..
What I do know is the Ace is, or at least had, been bugged - what do we blab, what do we keep under wraps when we're there?
Food for thought while Mao Pelch and anyone else detained can work their way out of the Stars clutches....

Bobby is still blasted and only a little time has passed since his close proximity to the blast in the van. Widow comes in and takes his bottle away. Bobby tries to protest, but he really has no idea if what he is saying is inteligible. "...HEY!! YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THAT...PELCH GAVE THAT TO ME...I GOT A HEAD ACHE, i NEED THAT!!!"
Widow winces as Bobby talks at a shout, a side effect of the blast. He has no idea how loud he is being and she cuts him some slack because of that. Widow smiled and placed a single finger in front of her lips to shush him slightly.
The large ork in uniform comes in and starts speaking, but Bobby still can't hear him, nor can he read lips. He seems to say something and Pelch gets taken out rather roughly by two other officers. Sargent Braxton, Bobby reads on the orks badge on his chest, smiles slightly as Pelch is taken out. Then, the Lonestar officer speaks again, and people start handing over cred sticks, which he appears to be checking on a reader which a second officer hands him. The questioning continues around the room, and Freddy and some other guy with the mage, seem to get off alright. Widow is next and speaks with the officer briefly, then waves a hand at Bobby, and talks some more.
Drek, she's talkin about me and I don't know what the story is...I'm Fragged... Bobby thinks to himself.

OOC: I know it doesn't make much difference with the roll Pelch made for me, but in the interest of fairness etc I'm gonna say it. Unless there's a house rule I don't know about, i thought fake IDs & scanners used the opposed tests rule? Also, I take it when you said Henri's computer skill, you meant Computer Background, coz his active Computers is only 2.
"Sure are a LOT of people with SIN's down here today. Now why would good corporate folks be down in this pest-hole of a place?"
Putting on his best 'innocent & annoyed at the implication' face, Henri replies to the Sergeant, "Last time I checked it wasn't a crime to have a SIN and be in a bar. Since you're askin' though, I came to check out the magical security on this place to see if there might be a job in it for me. But I can take a hint, I'm not gonna slot off the local gangers by steppin' on their toes." Shrugging he adds, "So I thought I'd grab a beer then head home, I get a hundred meters from the place and someone puts a fireball through the front door. Then all fraggin' hell lets loose."
Lifting the child off the table he asks "That it, can I go now?"
