Jimmy Bean's snitch kept a watch on the old warehouse through the minicams that he had set up. Jimmy had said he wanted the dirt on the guy to see if he was up to no good.
He puzzled again at the trid image then changed to flat imaging on the rollup screen. There was something there but the cams just diddnt seem to catch it.. always a blur or a shudder on the cams - some debris would float across or snag on the cam..
He saw the guy pulling in at the far end of the street and viewed him through the binox - glare from the streetlighting, reflec off the windows an the drizzle - this guy was tough to draw a bead on.
He lowered the binox after taking a zoom foto - then peered through the slats of the tennement window - just as luck would have it he got a clear view of the guy.. Now who was that with him..
Jimmy wasnt paying for fuzzy trid so he needed to get a better pic to collect the yen - closer in should do it...

Another unsolved - what do they think we can do - call in an esper? this is street trash. So long as we stop the garbage from spillin onto the sidewalk... wrap this and any other incident that aint goin to be followed up - as fast as possible. You got the basics? a swab a foto an the clean-up squad... any more is a waste of taxpayers yen - noone is goin to thank you for doin more an it isnt as if you got any further jobs to work on is it? no Sir? you mean yes Sir you got an arm's length of cases - get the fraggin job done that's what the Star's about - results.
The officer was left hanging on the other end.. Yes the guy was right there was no time available to spend on hunches and weird items when noone cared. He dictated his concern about the unusual circumstances and decided to post it to Unsolved Unusual - maybe someone at some point could trawl the databanks and make some sense. Like the Sarge said - he certainly diddnt have the time.
The intel package was elec tagged and filed away. Unsolved wer in their millions. 'Unsolved unusual' were a lot rarer. Once any file had been tagged they could be used by registered agents - living on the periphery of the law - digging into unsolved incidents to see if there was any cash to be made. Private Investigators was a polite name for them.

Upon hearing that F-E planned to meet Mr Bean in an attempt to gain allies, Henri asks "It makes sense for Four Eyes to head up the meet now that his face is familiar to them. But none of us are dumb enough to trust these guys on our first date, so who are the chaperones?"

"I suppose I can do something to earn my pay." Bishop drawled. "It'll be a good chance for me and Four-Eyes to talk about the killing house he promised me and arrange some counter-surveillance exercises."
Almost as an afterthought, he added: "We can bring Tranq too - she looks bored."

Four-Eyes thought about it..while a Mage would be good, but Tranq was at the meet, and Bishop would be a good addition, they were no doubt going to search them and his close combat skills were less than admirable...not to mention he can detect magic; not like a Mage but enough to see it, and he did have some knowledge of Magic to at least get a preliminary idea on what can be done.
"All right, sounds good to me; the Mages can work on pooling their resources or something.."

"Fair enough. You want me to be the obvious muscle or the wallflower?"
Harley much preferred the latter but knew that someone had to be the obvious partner in crime for the meeting. You always showed with at least one by your side, even at a neutral location.

"Good thinking, Tranq. I suppose you could masquerade as the secretary?" Bishop asked dryly; it was uncertain whether the statement was genuine or sarcastic.

((Feels the prod of the almighty GM))
I smiled at bishop's comment and I enjoyed the mental image for a moment. It sounded like I wasn't needed. I could always find something else to do. There was that vampire thing. I let experience take over.
Feral vampires leave bodies. They don't take the time to hide anything. Their not smart enough, basically... Vampire attacks... symptoms, drained blood, wounds typically on the neck.. I've seen the aftermath of a few feral attacks. In it's raw form SC would miss it.. I'm trading one form research for another. I grabbed my terminal from the car and found a quite place to work. There were plenty of different local databases. A few were public but the good stuff required special paperwork... which I possessed. I dug in some private systems for a while. What I needed was a list of unusual attacks.
Mainly cases involving strange wounds on the neck or complete loss of blood.

"Don't just look for wounds on the neck though," Bishop advised, addressing Shade. "Check for wounds on the inner thigh and arms too. You never know."

"Just look for bodies wiht their blood trianed. That in itself is unusual....and how can we be so sure that they drain thier victims to death?"
"And Tranq, you"ll be the innocent goon; just look pretty and take notes, but keep an eye on the astral pelase."

Harley blinked slightly....blinked again and arched a brow as the darkish lips quirked.
"...keep an eye on the...okay...I know adept means I'm magically inclined but did any of you bother to ask if I'm capable of astral sight? That's not my field."

"It's not a problem - that's Henri's field. When he's not busy making a ball's end of my ambushes, that is. Just stand there looking pretty and start throwing those precious little fists of yours around should any trouble start."

Four-Eyes puffed his smoke "Huh...thought all your adepts had astral sights..oh well, 'guess I,ll just keep an eye on the magic that's in there then...'course limited range and all, but better than nothin'"
