OOC: Pelch, ".....because you and Widow were not satisfied with your small gun?"
"Good day segment, chummers. We are of course in the preparation phase for the next job. This next job could see some interesting developments. I've been conversing with Headcrack at some length privately on his role in all this. After this particular post we will be in good position for the jump off. So here's a roadmap for all of you. This particular guideline will be a little different than normal ones I put out. I'll explain WHY in a little bit."
1.) Freddy and Widow will have to capture Headcrack and bring him in for a talk with Janie. Note of warning. Headcrack is NOT expected to make it easy for you. Just like Freddy attempting to escape at the Siren, you guys will have to make sure that time or circumstance does not allow him to escape. Right now the trap is tight but who knows when somebody will post something he can use to escape? I wouldn't hesitate to long once he makes his post.
2.) MY next post will be to start working on Quick and his ceremony. This is going to take some time. It will not be completed in one post! So beware! Quick will NOT be available for what is happening for some time until I complete his ceremony.
3.) One of the things most people have mentioned is that the roadmaps are a little to vague for the players. I give some hints to the players but they still don't know the original direction of the story and many think their moves are negated when they run up against other posts that muck with the original direction. I've listened to these comments and I'll elaborate more of the thread direction as I have planned it this time to see what affect it has on the thread and game.
If positive I will adopt the method in future. If negative, I'll look for another way.
4.) * Once Headcrack is captured he will be given several assignments with Widow and Freddie. The first will be to capture Gobwit, make him open the Security in his home so that Janie can visit him there. Like Freddy and Headcrack before me I will do my best within game parameters to escape. Freddy and Headcrack will have the full backing of Janie and all the current Z street facilities to make the capture. I anticipate some fun.
5.) Following that; The group lead by Headcrack will secure Mao's release from prison. Mao may continue or not to make posts about his prison history if he so desires. If Mao is wise he could find his OWN way out before we rescue him OR he can write to make the security very tight so we have to work to get him out. Either way will achieve his objectives for that part of the thread.
Once we have Mao, then we have to all run down BB and then finally Wheels. I suspect by the time we finish getting Mao out of prison Quick will be ready to join us. It depends on how fast things run with the rest of us.
6.) Now this has been a very ROUGH outline of the current thread. As GM I obviously have a much more detailed version and I have made allowances for player Chaos, but this is basically what is required for people to complete this thread successfully!
Player movements and posts could change the timing in which things happen and possibly even the order. It can certainly change the outcome if there are failures or wild successes along the way. Much will depend on the posts each player makes but I am hoping this guidline makes it clearer to you the players, the things that will constitute a success. It spells out players goals a bit more than usual!
7.) This will lead us into the next thread. The current thread will end when ALL of the Z streeters have been REDEEMED! (Hence the name of the thread and a clue.) Most of the characters currently do not LIKE our new CONTROL. So what's new? This will set up a situation where having discovered Wheels and analyzed the Key Cards, we will be going after a major prize. (Yes I already KNOW what that prize is and WHERE it is. IT's NOT AT SKAGIT!) As some of you have suggested. A trail might start there, but it will definitely not END there.
By the way the thread following Redemption will be called; 'Out in the Cold.' Yes I am planning that far ahead. already looking into the next thread and getting the bones of it ready. Interesting times ahead. Do you think you're ready and up for the challenge? We shall see.

Pelch wandered into Corndork's smiled and bowed with a flourish. Reaching up he took a 1/2 NuYen coin from behind her ear. He smiled as she looked at him suspiciously. The coin vanished. and he showed her an open palm with nothing in it. She glared and checked her cash register. All the money was there.
"When did you learn sleight of hand?"
Pelch smiled, I've been practicing. I used to be able to 'dip' pretty well before but since I've been learning this stuff it's opened up a whole new life for me. Anyway that's not what I came for. How fast can you lay hands on standard lock probes and cutters, several laser probes, some bypass leads incuding fiber optics, a key card reader/coder, a biometrics resource kit, a multimeter, an electronic emissions detector, heating iron with solder, jumpers, several small shapers, spare electronic components, lockpicks, a tumbler detector, a small but powerful hand computer that can simulate a variety of frequencies loaded with standard factory pass codes and diagnostics, a small but powerful holographic recorder for both video and magnetic media. A data 'capture' device that should be small and be capable of infrared or ultra violet recording in the dark. Both devices should be roughly 1" x 2" and just under a 1/4" thick or you can give me them combined for easy portability. It would not hurt to have a portable key pad with universal fittings either. All this should fit into a belt sized unit or standard armored coveralls which I'll also need with a variety of Velcro patches that I can change. Sort of like a service uniform. None of this stuff should be hot and I need a license as a locksmith so that I can carry it legally."
The small girl looked at Pelch and her eyes lit up with NuYEN signs. Then she got a dose of reality and glared. "Since when do you know how to use any of that stuff?"
Pelch smiled, "You haven't seen me in two years..."
"Which is too soon for me."
"Put a sock in your gob or I'll go to someone who will treat a paying customer with some respect." He showed her the silver cred stick. "I have enough cred in here to buy you out and still find a joy girl who won't give me the creeping crud. Now you interested in making a profit or you going to stand jacking your jaw all day asking stupid questions that I am not going to answer?"
"You won't go to anyone else. If you were going to do that you wouldn't come here. You go to someone else you can't get all that in one shot and the quality won't be as good. Now I got some of that here but a couple of things I don't. Sounds like your gearing up for a big time run and you got a sponsor." Pelch didn't answer. He gave her the stupid look.
"Stuff like this, quality stuff is going to cost."
Pelch smiled. The haggling had begun.
Four hours later he walked out with what he needed. He had haggled and tested every bit of it and as usual he had the drink included in the price. 28,000 NuYen was not to cheap of a price to pay for this kind of stuff. All dwarf made, with precision and much of it custom. He still had about another 10,000 on the stick. He was going to hide that in a safe place for emergencies.
He was gone a half an hour when two men walked into the store. Some money changed hands after they talked with the girl. They walked out pleased with their purchase as well. In their hands they had a tape of the whole conversation and a shopping list with the items all marked and the cost of each. The girl would continue to notify a certain automated drop call number and would receive certain sums of NuYen everytime she passed tidy information on about a certain renegade dwarf.
It was a good day for business.

Janie looked at the list and listened to the transcripts. It was pretty obvious that Gobwit was in the process of gearing up for a major undertaking. In two more days the meet with Headcrack should be going down. She had not realized that Gobwit seemed to be a trained thief. None of the on hand staff had mentioned the fact. Had they missed something that obvious or was this only known to certain people, especially those she had NOT spoken to yet like Mao, BB, or Wheels? That would certainly explain his theft of HQ property when he left. It also meant he could probably be bought and brought into line.
A talented thief could be a real asset and Headcrack's interest in the key cards was interesting. Wheels and Headcrack might have been good riggers and deckers but to really use those cards properly would take a thief. Gobwit could probably get information out of those cards that the others would not even know about. Sometimes it took a certain speciality to get certain pieces of crucial information. She was going to have to bring them together before she could get enough of the facts to at least start making guesses. The key cards seemed to be the key to it all.
She had, at first been more inclined to let Gobwit run free for a bit while she reeled in Headcrack. Now it would seem the situation had become more volatile. She was going to have to move things faster. She activated a comm line to Professor O'Felix, to check on Quick's progress.
