After leaving John, Jorinda walks through the doors of the Edge. The temperature noticeably seems to warm as she enters the entryway. The abundance of plants made it look like one was walking through a forest in Tir Tangire. A pity that it didn't match her childhood memories. Something about the smell and the sort of plants present didn't mesh with her memories.
But the food did smell good. The Edge was one of the best Elvish restaurants in town. It was spendy, but to make nice with Redfern, it was worth every nuyen.
Jorinda looks around for Redfern. Had she beaten him? She doubted it, because she'd come all the way from the Barrens. So where was he?

While walking aorund the restaurant area, Jorinda heard a familiar voice calling for her. Sitting in a booth, surrounded by plants, Redfern motionned to his elven friend to come sit down. He still had the same hair cut, shoulder lenght and well groomed, with 3 datajacks on his left temple and behind his left ear. He didn't had his 'work' clothes on, but his old greensuit he wore back in the days he worked for Renraku. He looked good, even if the suit was a bit on the rustic side. He spoke in a calm, warm matter in good Sperethiel "Well, you finally showed up. I was starting to think you were about to leave me hanging alone again." He grinned and waved the waiter over "Well, I"m starving, but how about we begin with some wine first..lady's choice..."

Jorinda turns when she hears Redfern's voice, and smiling, she slides into the seat across from him. She looks somewhat amused at the sight of his old greensuit. "Just like old times." She says in Sperethiel. "Sorry, if I'd known you wanted a trip down memory lane, I'd have stopped to change clothes. She takes off her long coat, revealing that she was wearing the same tight clothes she'd worn at the Leaking Pussy. The clinging top was relatively decent, so she places her coat on her lap, covering up the micro mini and any chance of viewing her underwear.
"Sorry, but it takes a while to get back from the Barrens." Heck she counted herself lucky that she made it back at all.
Jorinda nods and studies the wine list, opting for something moderately priced. When the waiter again arrives, she places the order, and asks for an order of lettuce wraps.

Redfern observed at Jorinda with an odd look. after the waiter left to get the wine, he leaned a little toward the woman. "The Barrens? My my, what happened to you? Last time you gave me a business call, you had something with..Mages right?" He grinned "And what brought you into the Barrerns..you don't seem the type."
The waiter came back with the wine, a good bottle of red . Redfern ordered the surf and turf, it seems he's was hungry after all.

Jorinda shrugs and tries to play cool. She nods positively at mention of the Mage job. He had a good memory, and that was both a boon and a bane at times. "Got hired for a job, and you go where it takes you." She replies, not bothering to elaborate further. She watches as the lettuce wraps are set in the middle of the table, and after Redfern orders, Jorinda forgoes the vegeterian route and orders hazelnut crusted salmon.
After the waiter takes their orders, Jorinda shifts the conversation back to something a bit lighter. "So how's things?"
(The lettuce wraps are an appetizer)

He poured himself a glass of wine, before fulling up Jorinda's "Oh..had a job about 3 weeks back...a pick-up..Matrix was clear, but the physical..way more people than expected." He shrugs. "They got the drop on us..Tack barely made it out alive..she lost her right leg, and half her right arm, damn those shotguns..." Redfern stared at the restaurant area without really looking at anything in particular. He seems to be watching something else in his mind. Without warning, he quickly grabbed his glass and almost drank it all "We've been laying low since then, and to give time to Tack to recuperate. She's getting a new leg this Friday, Alpha grade too. I hope this won't affect her too much.."

Jorinda eats while she listens. Shadowrunning was a dangerous biz, but she was still bothered when someone she knew got hurt. Tack, Gunther, it never seemed to get any easier. "Me too." Jorinda replies.

The entree came, soon followed by the main course. Jorinda and Redfern exchanged small talk, heard about this trid flick, that news story, the new program Renraku developed, this and that..the food was well-cooked, looked tasty and tasted even better; Elves might be known to be stereotypically vegetarian, but they can cook a mean piece of meat, fish or poultry.
While in the middle of main course, Redfern lowered himself forward toward his companion "So.." He was almost whispering "....what do you need the mask for anwyays?..you're not in trouble and just want to walk without having a squad of nutcases chasing after you, right?"

Jorinda is jolted back to reality as John changes the subject back to 'business'. Jorinda again plays it casual. "I have to visit someone in the hospital." She hopes that's enough to satisfy his curiosity, but she doubted it...

"The Hospital?...A job turned bad I bet huh? Well since you need the mask, I suppose it's still too hot to visit 'normally'..or is it simply because your friend don't have a SIN? At least you managed to get him out of the Barrens and to a hospital." Redfern takes a slip of wine, but seems to realize something halfway. He put his glass down, leaned forward and talked with a bit of excitement "Oh wait, you weren't in the Barrens when he had..whatever send him to the Hospital right?"

Jorinda nods in reply, and decides to favor him with a small bit of info. "The Star have him under guard." That in itself should be enough of an answer.
"No we weren't. With my friend out of commission, I hooked up with someone else I know to track someone down in the Barrens. Didn't have a whole lot of luck, but I did win an Amateur Stripper contest." She smiles at him.

"Stripper contest?" He smiled a little. "Well good to see you're trying to stay in shape despite your schedule....I must say, you're not in a pleasant sitaution..you..hum..need some help? In some hospitals, the patients under guard and generally observed via camera. Of course, it all depends on the situation, which hospital.." He gave Jorinda a sneaky look "Of course if you think you don't need me, I have no problem with that..you already bought me a great diner, I"m just returning the favor."

Jorinda picks at her food as she listens. "Well, thankfully, it's not a jail hospital, or I'd never even consider making the attempt. She tells Redfern which hospital Gunther was in. "Well, I already have someone going with me into the room, but if you wanted to hack into the hospital's system and distract the cameras, I certainly wouldn't mind." She offers quietly, then leans across the table. "Bet you could do that without breaking a sweat."

Redfern smiles at Jorinda " 'Pretty sure I can hun..but with the low-down with Tack and everything..I"ll be forced to ask for a contribution..3 Grand? Even got a slice off the price because it's you. Sounds all right?"
================= The waiter comes back and take away the used dishes "Would you like some dessert? Maybe a coffee?"

Jorinda nods and pretends to look shocked at his price quote. "Come on, 3 large for a cakewalk job? I won't pay more than 2, and that's because it's you." She smiles at him brightly.
The waiter distracts Jorinda for a moment. She looks over to Redfern, as if to say, "your call."
