Pelch snickered as a couple of cops started to pummel the drek out of Mao. That would teach HIM to be such a pansy! He wondered for a vague moment what would happen when Mao got MAD enough then got back to the real deal. Dead cops for sure. It would serve them ALL right for what they did to his good buddy Wheels! Pelch had it all zoned. The Star had killed Wheels to get back at the group. Well he would show those fraggers. He started to scope out the car. For some reason it seemed EASIER to understand how things worked. The keys were still in and it was running. He reached under the seat and pulled out a shotgun and braced it on the seat and the accelerator. This was going to be FUN! He heard some idiot on a bull horn.
"YOU IN THE VEHICLE! GET OUT WITH YOUR HANDS ABOVE YOUR HEAD OR WE WILL USE FORCE!"
Yeah sure like a couple of FRT Squads had the firepower to get through the heavily armored limo. It could shrug of Panther Assault cannon rounds. He stood on the seat and slammed the car in gear. The tires sprayed dirt as Pelch went straight at the group of cops. They scattered fast but he caught one patrolman off the left corner and sent him spinning into the air. "Discount sale on BODY BAGS Today." He screamed. Picking up speed he raced towards a long rectangular vehicle that looked more like a RV but was painted all black! Mages would be inside that one going Astral! He smiled.
At the last minute he cut sharply to the left and fishtailed into the top heavy RV with the low slung trunk of the limo. The heavily armored low slung limo caught the RV just right lifting it up and rolling it over with a large crash. It slammed into the remains of the Quonset Hut area and a huge explosion engulfed the vehicle. So much for their stupid forensics team! Mage toasties! He raced back at the two cops pounding Mao as bullets and a shotgun blast splattered against the armor of the car to little affect. Seeing him coming they immediately abandoned Mao and raced for cover. They didn't make it. Cutting Hard right the limo again fishtailed and the car sideswiped into and over them leaving a bloody mess. One cop tried to shoot out the tires. Pelch laughed and headed straight for him but the cop just managed to dodged at the last minute. (Bad dice roll!) Then he saw a new target. his eyes lit up, the Master would be so pleased if he got this one.
Wasn't that guy the Organized Crime guy? He must have been the one that done in Wheels Their bomb guy that like to blow up helpless dwarves and their friends. Pelch sneered as he headed straight at him. The bullets continued to hit the limo like a rain storm and were having just as much of an effect! A wide fixed maniacal smile was on his face.

The limo moved and did a carnage in the ranks, even tipped over the MFL. Drek, I hope Dalton managed to survive that one..with his armour, he should, but it was more the fire that concerned me.
Over the comm, the others were yelling out calls; 01, 04, 03, 08, 99 and fo course, A LOT of 09 and 00. Even if he did surrender he whould get shot on site. The armored vehicle came back at full speed. He must be nuts, Going straight for me, with his buddy at my feet! At least the human was smart, he was already with one feet on the ground. I let go of my platter and mug, grabbed the cowboy and ran to the side. If he gets me, his buddy gets it also.
[dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Rule of 6 [dice=6][dice=6] again [dice=6]
Good thing for cyberware. We got cleared of the limo's path, while the stretch hit the side of the building behind us hard, sending the round bag of drek behind the wheel flying, bursting the windshield and landing face first into a plasticrete wall. I wasn't a doctor, but I don't believe a neck should bend in THAT angle. His body fell on the front of teh limo, still jerking a bit here and there. Must be the nerves. "I Hope your buddy's dead, becasue I doub the others will let him live after that..if not to sentence him to Death Row. You got a lot ot explain there cop-killer."
Cowboy seems as is shock as the rest of us. It seems he wasn't expecting that one too. In the distance, DocWagon sirens were buzzing all over, heading for us. Memebers of teh HTR team come toward the mad wheelman, covering him. "That guy got a platinum braclet."
Great..Just fraging great[rand=06998144972782305960750794405517484729562723762796613055317719319]

OOC: Just...great...*grumble mumble*
Mao was still comtemplating Pelch's odd facial expressions and actions which was unlike him. From all times he's seen so far he's always been more worried about the star...but not this time..to the point that he even went after them. Something wasn't right...next thing he knew he was outside trying to resolve the situation cept got pummelled by the cops. Mao kept his temper in wraps and just concentrated on accepting the shots with minimal resistance to lower the amount of damage. Now was the time to think and react...not just go headlong into the mess. Then at the next moment he heard car screeches mixed in with people yelling and screaming, scrambling all about. When he finally was able to get one foot under himself..he saw the limo coming in hard and fast... Some cop that was talking to him earlier pulls him aside... just barely escaping the limo...
Mao quickly got to his feet after seeing the car plow into the building with Pelch flying out through the front window. Mao's temper now was starting to flare...
"Someone is controlling my partner...some sort of magic. Do you guys have folks that can check it out now and quickly?!" * wipes his face with his forearm since it was covered with dirt and blood *
The cop looked at him.
"You trying to tell me what to do, bum?"
Mao couldn't risk the chance of trying to see if he can spot anything magically with his adept powers...he hope that the comm device was still working and active. He had turned it on from the moment Pelch had started to get confrontational with the cop as to keep the team in the loop as to what was happening...he needed support from HQ and was hoping they can feed him the information...
Mao's hat had fallen to the side as he got up after being pulled away from the limo. As Mao turned to face the cop the cop finally began to see his face...his emotion...and his cybernetic eye..
"I said do you have anyone that can check that out now!? If not I'm going in there myself."
The cop was hesitant and knew that the this man was beginning to get riled up...but he wasn't the one to be giving orders around here... But he did work for the mayor didn't he?
"And that is why I left the force...it takes too damn long for you guys to do anything around here. Go check who I am and confirm it. I have rights to do what I need to. Either you back me up and work with me here or you'll have Drassel on your hoops in a matter of hours. You want to figure out what's going on? I'll help you as long as it works both ways else I'm going solo and will damn will make sure that you go down as well with whatever just messed my partner up. What say you?!"

Henri watches as the astral mist makes it's way towards Pelch and sees Pelch attack the cop straight after his aura darkens. "Fraggin' Pelch, always fraggin' Pelch!" he thinks to himself. He knows that the best chance of stopping Pelch doing anythin more stupid than normal is to identify the magic and go for the source. Attempting to remain discreet as he does so, Henri tries to assense the fog and track it back to wherever it came from.
Assensing: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Aura Reading: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Stealth: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6]
OOC: You ever had one of those frickin' days?
As he does this, Pelch goes nuts in the car, turning several cops into roadkill and destroying some kind of modified RV in the process. Henri forces himself to ignore the carnage on the physical plane as there's little more he can do to stop it. He was simply going to have to trust Mao to deal with that side of things and find a way to stop the car, terrifying as that thought was. Suddenly Mao had one less thing to worry about as Pelch exited the car in a way not reccomended by the manufacturers. From this distance it was impossible to see if Pelch was alive or not and again, it wasn't something he could help with while on the astral. Henri returns to his astral investigation and hopes he won't need Mao's help if he has to deal with this unknown magician. [rand=047701860221631365487701798017900687641327007228109149107443839422]

"Someone is controlling my partner...some sort of magic. Do you guys have folks that can check it out now and quickly?!"
I looked at him, he could have gone with drug-use that'll might seen normal in this part of town. "You trying to tell me what to do, bum?" He had a point, no harm in checking anyways, hell chances are they were one or two flying around
"Central, this is 0-7-4. Come in Central." "Central here, go ahead 0-7-4." "Got any 99 on 5th Street and Crossland Way, Puyallup, we might have a case of 0611. Dwarven male, lying on the front of the limousine." "I said do you have anyone that can check that out now!? If not I'm going in there myself." "Affirmative 0-7-4, wait a minute, I"ll inform MD of your request."
"You probably quit because you were giving orders instead of obeying them. Do you think I can control your actions in astral HUH? do you think we're all magically active? Just flick your eyes..I mean you single eye and look over astrally, or drop like a bag of potatoes, I don't give a frag...You might not dress like a suit, but you do act like one, hiding behind a lawyer. Of course with a clean gun, you could just have a good deck-surfer and be a Family member too. So go ahead, I won't stop you..hell I CAN'T stop you, so be my guest, but don't think because you were send my The Mayor that you run the show. Your 'partner''s little stunt made it a full LoneStar investigation now, hope no one's dead for you sake."
"Benson, Roberts, Dalton..Anyone still alive?"
"..Benson here..what the frag happened?..Drek the whole freaking crime scene's in flames!"
"Some guy in a fact-finding team send from Mayor Krass of Seattle when nuts and went on a rampage..I'd say at least 2 dead on our side..and he's not looking that good too."
"WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT FRAGING DUMBFRAG ASSHOLE'S DOING SENDING FRAGS IN MY TOWN!! FRAG! I bet he called the hit and now he send those 2 to destroy any chance we can build a case. That fragger..I hope he gets what he deserves...Aah..now where's Dalton?"
"He was in the MFL..Even with that armor on him, he's probably dead."
"Dunno man, surviving a bomb blast to the face, he might have flew out and he's just looking like drek."
"Right..mind checking it out?"
"No problem, you handle that frag I need to get away from him before I shoot him."
"0-7-4, 0-7-4. Mage will reveal himself close to you."
"Roger that." "You heard central, keep it calm guys."
The dwarf's partner was staring at his friend's corpse. I shook him a little getting his focus together. "The Mage is gonna show himself. So you can share information, which means shut up and talk when talked to."

Bobby walked around a huge ancient diesel engine and reached up for the hammer. As he did he heard Buddy say, "Now what the heck is this fragging gizmo with the flashing lights. It's wedged up under the exhaust. No farking wonder the pipe won't come off!"
That was the last thing that Bobby was going to hear for a while. Bobby realized in horror what Buddy was looking at. He started to yell and turned to rush towards his friend but it was way too late. The undercarriage of the car exploded with an actinic bright light turning the Honda into an excessively large incandescent torch. The walls of the building seemed to blow away and the roof lifted high into the air like it was heading for orbit! The BLAST shock wave slammed into Bobby but as luck would have it the heavy engine took most of the force of the explosion. Bobby received some minor cuts from flying metal pieces but the blast mostly just tumbled him backward and into a ditch where he lay stunned. There was no doubt in Bobby's mind that Buddy was dead. The garage was completely totaled and he had only survive by shear dumb luck.
Bobby rolled to his hands and knees slowly. The ringing in his ears was becoming a familiar sound to him and he had an abstract thought float thru his head about getting some sound dampening cyberware installed in his head. It took him a moment or two to get his bearings then realized what had happened. Scuttling over to what was left of the bench, Bobby pulled out the Enfield that was protruding out from under the remains of the bench. Glancing around, he also spotted the other shotgun, but it was farther away. Bobby looked out from behind the big block motor carefully, to see if anyone was hanging around or watching.
Drek. I need to move quick, in case anyone is still around. Bobby plotted a course thru the wreckage towards the back door of Buddy's house, a course that took him by the second shotgun.
Scuttling quickly thru the debris, Bobby spared a look at his friend. Or rather, what was left of his friend. There wasn't much. Bobby only knew where Buddy had been, by the framework remaining of the Honda. Bobby's face hardened as he continued to scuttle towards the sidewall. Minutes earlier he wouldn't have been able to exit thru the wall at this point, but now...
Bobby stayed low as he rolled over the remains of the wall, and slid down the slight incline that was the remains of the quansit wall. He dived quickly into the four foot quack grass that covered most of the back yard. Parts of the yard were on fire, and much of the grass had been flattened, revealing further signs of Buddy's trade. Old engine blocks, car parts, piles of assorted, now useless electronic parts and an assortment of unidentifiables. The Seatle weather was not very forgiving of anything left out...
Bobby moved quickly from pile to pile, and pile to grass patch, varying the length of his pauses and changing the speed he moved at, to make himself as difficult a target as possible. Bobby was headed for the back of Buddy's house, but with all the wreckage and debris around, Bobby couldnt see much beyond the driveway. Buddy's Ford Survivor and the house blocked most of the view of the street. A torn sheet of galvanized sheet metal from the quansit leaned awkwardly against the bonnet.
Bobby made it to the back door and punched in the 6 digit code to bypass the maglock on the back door. The keypad was hidden under a fake potted plant that sat on the low railing of the porch. Most people didn't know, but Buddy was actually a huge conspiracy theorist. He was envisioning shadows everywhere, Bobby used to bug him, when they were drinking late into the night. Today, that might save Bobby.
The dwarf ducked thru the door before it was fully opened, the metal, triple reinforced portal swung inwards after a moment, and Bobby quickly hit the close switch. The interior of Buddy's house was much as his yard and workspace had been. Cluttered and very busy. The interior walls were covered in what appeared to be a fire resistant blanket of some sort, it's shiny, heat reflective surface faced into the room, a room filled with stacks and piles of hardcopy. The room used to be the kitchen, but only the sink was visible thru the stacks of papers. A thin path wound its way thru the stacks of paper, a path that Bobby now hustled down.
The path thru the stacked papers, led to what used to be the living room. The living room was dominated by Buddy's work station, which covered most of one wall. The use of the fire retardant blankets was prevalent here as well. Bobby shook his head to try and clear some of the ringing, as he moved to the workstation.
At least 14 screens on various arms and shelves provided most of the visual feedback, and several cables led under the desk. Bobby pulled over a modified Novatech Hyperdeck-6 that had seen better days. Punching another series of numbers, Bobby pulled up the security cameras that were hidden thru Buddy's house, yard and neighborhood. The camera's covering the quansit showed a mass of wreckage and destruction.
I was only here for a few minutes before the bomb went off and it's been 55 hours since I was here last. Bobby thought, as the ringing in his ears subsided to complete silence. He knew that it was only a matter of time before his hearing returned. Glancing at the cronometer on the hyperdeck, he noted that he'd only been there for about 20 minutes in total, 3 since the bomb went off. He didn't have much time. Lonestar and the Fire response units would be on their way. Even in Puyallup, an explosion that big wouldn't go unnoticed or ignored. They must have had someone watching the building for his return. Or at least someone had to enter the shop to plant the bomb. That made the most sense. Unless someone tapped into Buddy's sources too... Bobby didn't want to think about that possibility.
He quickly started to download the past three days worth of security footage to the Hyperdeck, and while that was happening, Bobby thought to check in with his team. Not that I can hear them respond... he thought as he reached for his communicator. DREK!! The blast must have taken out the communicator, or maybe he fell on it when the blast hit him. Either way, it came out of Bobby's pocket in pieces...
Turning back to the workstation, Bobby enabled the self destruct sequence, and the timer on the wall started counting down from three minutes. Grabbing the Hyperdeck, Bobby turned from the workstation and started for the side door. As he turned to go, he spotted Buddy's phone lying on a stack of papers near the one other chair in the room. It was Buddy's reading chair, and the stack looked like it was a pile that Buddy had been halfway thru reading.
Scooping up the phone, Bobby headed for the door closest to the driveway. On the wall by the door were the truck keys, hung as always on the second hook from the right. A tear came to Bobby's eye as he shagged the keys and hit the door release. The door swung silently inwards and Bobby looked out towards the street looking for anything suspicious. A few people were beginning to come out of their buildings, pointing and looking at the explosion, but they all looked like locals. Frag! Well, there's nothing for it. They're going to see me anyways.
Bobby headed out the door and started to wave at the people to get back. "THERE MIGHT BE ANOTHER BOMB!! STAY BACK!!! STAY BACK!!!" he yelled. He couldnt hear the responses, but the people started to move back from Buddy's house, scared looks on their faces. Turning back to the truck, Bobby threw the cyberdeck onto the front seat before rolling under the truck for a quick look. Bobby had worked on this vehicle too, in exchange for services in the past and knew it well. There didn't appear to be any extra surprises, but Bobby was weighing the value of checking the truck against his internal clock. It had only been a few minutes since the bombing, but surely Lonestar was on the way.
Drek, and double DREK!! Gotta go!! he thought to himself as he rolled out by the driver's door. He didn't know if there was anyone watching. There was soo many ways to do it, but he hadn't seen any drones floating around. That kind of hardware tended to get scooped up by Buddy's network of neighborhood gangs and thieves. It's how Buddy accumulated most of the electronics he had. Used to have... Bobby thought to himself as he threw the truck into reverse and backed out of the driveway, catching a glimpse of flames, as the interior of the house was scoured by fire, a fire contained to the interior of the house by the fire protection Buddy had installed for just such a purpose.
He still couldn't hear, but he needed to get away. Hopefully the security tapes showed him something. Hopefully that insect shaman didn't waste any effort putting a watcher on this place, like Freddy had been lecturing him on, not so long ago.
Plugging into the datajack, Bobby engaged the sensor suite monitoring the immediate surroundings with the sensor suite. He and Buddy had upgraded the sensors a couple of months ago to include an upgraded rangefinder, basic radar, signature-recognition software, low-light and thermographic magnification and imaging, as well as video cameras. He began to monitor the sensor suite as he drove the Ford down Pioneer way, turning off on 117 street and pulling into an alley before pulling in around behind a small stripmall that had seen better days. He wasn't going to be able to drive very far with no hearing...He slid out of control mode and back into captains chair mode, where he monitored the sensors but began to pour thru the security tapes...
********** 10 minutes later, Bobby's sensor's picked up a couple of flashing lights off the building beside him, high up on the wall. Lonestar to the rescue! he thought to himself. The flashing lights distracted him almost enough to make him miss it, the flash on the security cams. The timer on the tape showed the time to be 3:12 am the night before last. About 7 hours after Bobby had left Buddy's to return to the Lair. The only thing noticible, was the quansit door opening and closing.
Switching over to thermographics, Bobby could detect a large human moving stealthily across the yard and into the garage. He was in there for exactly 36 minutes before the door opened again and the human exited the building. Switching back to normal vision and rewinding the tape briefly, Bobby saw that there was still nothing to be seen on the normal view. Switching back and forth between the views, and rewinding and forwarding, an switching between house cams and neighborhood cams, Bobby was able to follow the figure to a vehicle parked about three quarters of a block down 122 St. where the figure climbed into a beat up Dodge Glow.
Scanning thru the rest of the tapes up til the time of the explosion, Bobby spotted the Glow twice more, once arriving in the area, and once just parked off of Pioneer way, just on the edge of one of the cameras covering the neighborhood entrance gate.
Gotcha!! he thought to himself as noted the plate number and description of the car...Probably not the culprits, but a henchmen that could lead them to the bombers at least....

... because the dwarf is dead!OOC: Pelch, "Lot's of action! Lot's of people posting good stuff. I even brought the Ground Hog Mao out of his den for 17 more weeks of posting. Got curious did you? What is Pelch up to putting his character in the deep brown stuff like that? He'll have to figure that out for himself. Dead Dwarves tell no tales but Loveless always managed to return can Pelch do anything less? Anyone got a reincarnation or resurrection spell?" (Really evil chuckle.) Now let's look at some of the really important hinge points: Mao to Pops, "Either you back me up and work with me here or you'll have Drassel on your hoops in a matter of hours." "Darn you Mao, as usual your instinct is correct! You figured out part of it. You're darn right. If the cop doesn't back off the attitude and start getting this scene under control Drassel is going to have field day! I have already been feeding him information and he is already in action, the bastard smells money in this. Luckily you haven't scoped out all the plan yet. You just got one of the new sidebars that opened up." Henri, "The best chance of stopping Pelch doing anything more stupid than normal is to identify the magic and go for the source." "Bang ON, Henri! You picked up the mages clue. The insect Shaman has the ability of control, you know this from your research that BB gave you. You KNOW he has to be local but outside the Star perimeter. You know that is why he 'used' Pelch to take out the RV with the local Star mages first! He obviously doesn't know you're there and you're on the right track but you forgot one thing. Who will protect you if he figures out your looking? Stealth Mode big time, mate. This guy is dangerous if he can control Pelch with his will and intelligence ratings. Where's Freddy when you need him? I may need some specifics on how you want to approach this so I may give you another chance to elaborate on your methods before I deal with your part." Wheels, "Scanning thru the rest of the tapes up til the time of the explosion, Bobby spotted the Glow twice more, once arriving in the area, and once just parked off of Pioneer way, just on the edge of one of the cameras covering the neighborhood entrance gate. Gotcha!! he thought to himself as noted the plate number and description of the car...Probably not the culprits, but a henchmen that could lead them to the bombers at least....""YES! Another solid lead. This team is actually starting to pull together. All for the same purpose. Now if Wheels can only get this info to BB. To bad I had to 'die' to get this team to get serious. Now go kick some butt!" Now let's try to bring the scenario up to date:Even as the Star troopers started to pick themselves up and look around, one trooper was examining the dwarf body that had gone crashing through a windshield that would only shatter if a 40mm shell had hit it dead on. That was a log of force. "Can you believe this, "That guy's got a platinum bracelet." The Doc Wagon wheeled into the yard and immediately went to the dwarf as the trooper watched. Very tired looking Doc Wagon Doctor in a white smock and stethoscope. "Bag him guys, this ones a goner. See if you can lend a hand to the Star guys while we are on site. Check the inside of the Limo and see if anyone else is there that needs medical attention." The Doctor moved towards Pops and Mao. "You in charge?" He asked Pops. Pops nodded. The Doctor listened to his ear piece a moment, "You got pieces of the stiff that used to own this slice of hell. You got three dead troopers splattered on the grass. One dead dwarf through a armored limo windshield. Sixteen walking wounded with various abrasions, sprains and cuts, they'll live. You got an RV with four dead forensic specialist inside. We're cutting that open right now. That's nine DEAD and sixteen wounded by my count. Now my report says you've had TWO bombs go off here, do you have a bomb squad around before my boys inadvertently discover a third?"Pops shook his head 'No'. The Doc looked even more tired. "Then I'm going to withdraw my men before we become the next series of fatalities. If you want autopsies, I'll be taking the bodies I can take to Good Samaritan Hospital at S - 407 14th Ave. OK? I'd rather not be around if you guys stumble on another bomb." Pops nodded and the vehicle with the bodies left. Meanwhile Mao watched them load Pelch into a body bag. Something wasn't right but he couldn't put his finger on it. He looked astral and was suddenly surprised. There was a huge Ward covering the area. If the Star was trying to get a mage in here he wasn't going to get inside enough to see drek. Even as the Organized Crime cop came over from gettiong the Doc Wagon off the premises the Ward suddenly vanished. The van went screaming down the road and out of sight very quickly. Mao looked at it and thought but for some reason his thoughts seemed to be slower than usual, most likely from the beating he had taken he thought. "You know how many dead we got on this scene Krass Boy? Nine people counting your so called partner." Pops looked at him with disgust, "Now why don't you tell me what really brought you down here and why all this is happening. I know you have to be holding out on me." "It's more important to tell you something I saw. There was a Ward up over this whole area a short while ago. It's gone now. Was it any of your guys? It was a strong ward." Mao asked. "You fragging suits and your stupid rich boy crap!" Pops said disgusted, "Always playing games and people die, well for once your pretty Platinum bracelet didn't save you now did it?" Mao's face turned white, "We don't have Platinum Bracelets!" He showed him his arms, "I and especially not my partner can't afford service like that, look at our SIN profile! You have mine on record but as I remember it no one ever checked my partners. ""I don't get it, " Pops looked confused, "If you ain't got bracelets then how did that Doc Wagon get here?"Mao looked grim, "Maybe what we thought we saw, wasn't what we saw." Mao looked thoughtfully at the windshield and pointed. "DREK! Look the windshield is intact! " He ran over and looked inside. "No body."Pops looked more confused, "The Doc Wagon people bagged it. It was thrown outside through the window. We all saw it."Mao glared, "You idiot! That wasn't a real Doc Wagon! Want to bet that was the Real culprit in all this? We know the fragger was a mage. Now he's got my partner!"Pops thought quickly, "The doctor did look real hashed out." He turned and yelled to one of his troopers, "Get Samaritan on the line and tell Security to hold that Doc Wagon Van until we can get there!" He looked at Mao, "They got a head start but we might be able to catch him if we hurry."Mao looked calmly back and adjusted his hat, "Useless. They won't go to Samaritan and they sure won't be in that van by now." Pops was afraid the cowboy was right. He glared. He had to get this guy to talk! OOC: Pelch, "It's all about loop holes. Tommorow night we work on what Henri sees."

OOC: Dagnabit...gotta make my live hard don't you belch...
Mao once again piped the latest through on his comm device...no clue if that was still functional but he sure hoped that it did. Mao purposely didn't say anything about his demolitions experience in front of the doc since he was suspicious and he proved right at the end. What that also meant was that those henchman didn't have his information...they were only targetting Pelch. They wanted to get out of dodge before anyone or anything pointed in their direction...the race is on.
"Get me out of these cuffs so I can do my work then. You said you follow orders so follow mine then! Unless you have some sort of order that can help you sort this matter out. I want to look over the site now to examine the explosion."
Pops looked at the guy with dirtied clothing and a burnt cowboy hat...this situation is getting weirder and weirder by the minute. Worse yet he did mention Drassel and was sent by Krass...he had to give him some leeway...
"I don't see what good this will do..." *uncuffs him*
"Let's just say I have some experience with checking stuff out."
Mao rubbed his wrists to get the blood flowing in them again. He slowly began to look the site over to see what he could find out about the explosion as best he can... His rapid healing had begun to kick in since he had a feeling that it was still dangerous territory to be in. Somehow the fake Doc knew there were 2 explosions...how they knew already should've been a clue...but either case...he'll try to confirm that and hope that another clue arrives from it.
"Meanwhile I want you to do a check to see what vehicles belonged to the owner of this house and who was the last to deal with him and swing your search out from there. You want to know who is behind this then lets start following those leads now. Keep me appraised as to the chasing of the Doc mobile...I want my partner back."

Henri feels a twinge of regret as he sees the Docwagon medics bag & tag Pelch then throw him in the ambulance. Using the remaining flames to conceal himself and piles of rubble as cover to hide in where possible, he continues to attempt to locate whoever had been controlling Pelch. As he does so, something tugs at the edge of his awareness, but refuses to be anything other than a nagging feeling. Suddenly he notices a fragging huge mana barrier around the site, that he could have sworn wasn't there earlier. "Not good" Henri thinks, "That's gotta be our bug. Anyone who can do that to Pelch and still pull that off...". He leaves the thought unfinished and continues his search. "Fragger must be usin' masking", he curses. Just as the Docwagon ambulance leaves the area, Henri notices the Mana barrier dissipate and the nagging thought ceases to be a nagging thought. Docwagon!! No way could they get an ambulance here for Pelch in that amount of time. Even with a med-evac chopper on the pad, waiting with it's engines turning & burning, they'd never make it here that fast. "Son of a slitch!!" he swears as he watches the ambulance hang a left. As he realises that Pelch's little flight was probably an elaborate, powerfully maked illusion, Henri's respect for the bug shaman grows along with his desire not to tackle him alone. However, he was confident he hadn't been spotted and could could keep it that way while the ambulance was moving. Besides, the opportunity to follow the bug shaman and see what intel he could gather was too good to pass up. The scenery blurs as Henri's astral form zooms after the ambulance hoping to catch sight of it before it gets lost in the maze of streets. Not having time to provide Mao with the details, Henri had to hope that Mao had come to the same conclusion as him and start his own pursuit. He also had to hope that Mao knew to move his hoop ASAP. Urban pursuit was as much about angles as distance. You had to stop the target gaining so much distance that you couldn't see his turns, or you'd end up taking a wrong one yourself & it was all over. All in all, Henri was relying on hope a little too much for his liking, but there was no alternative he could see and you take what you can get. He takes the same left as the ambulance and quickens his pace in an attempt to keep sight of it as it turns another corner. OOC: Not sure what roll's needed here, if any. If so I'm happy for Pelch to do it, unless he decides to tell me then wait for me to post. Either way's good.

Drek! Damn Mages and their illusions. What was the number? 0-246. Now to... "Get me out of these cuffs so I can do my work then. You said you follow orders so follow mine then! Unless you have some sort of order that can help you sort this matter out. I want to look over the site now to examine the explosion."
I wanted to pistol whip the bastard with his own gun, but I dropped the idea, he'll probably go cry to his lawyer-mother.
"I don't see what good this will do..." I uncuffed him, that'll maybe get him to shut up. He started walking toward the crime scene. "What the .." A few of the HTR guys raised their weapons, but lowered them as quickly while a humanoid form appeared. The human had a standard issue LoneStar uniform, and his young face screamed 'I got 3 PhD, no street experience, but I'm a Mage so back off ' "Hey what's with that ward all of a sudden? The Sargent never told me about that, who got it up?" "Listen, shut up, we got a situation, there's a DocWagon ambulance that took that left there. Follow it and DON'T loose it from your sight. They just snatched a witness and destroyed all the evidence...Get someone else to cover your ass and GO!" I started jogging to my car "..And get me some watcher on me just in case." I turned to see the Mage flying off and disappearing out of thin air. Damn Mages..
I took up the pace, running across the sidewalk, the street and finally got to my car. I popped the clip out of the Mayor's boy-toy's gun and put the chamber bullet in it. "Hey, if some guy whit a cowboy hat comes to 'ya and tells you he work for the Downtown Mayor give him back his gun..and fine him 750 Nuyen for not having a permit, understand?" The foot patrolman took the unloaded Manhunter and tucked it under his jacket "Sure thing Detective, I'm short of one for my quota this week, it'll be a pleasure."
I loaded my own Manhunter with the AV rounds, if there's a Mage in that ambulance, I'll need those to get him down. I start the engine and drove trough the yellow ribbon. I slowed down near the limo, taken down the license number and the rental company name tag, and saw that "Mao Borneo" ordering his imaginary friend around.
"Benson, how's Dalton?"
"Well medium Rare from what I can see..drek.....DREK! Fragger's still got a pulse! Well kinda.."
"Hard nut to crack..Oh man, there's some dumbass whit a cowboy- Hat on, He's Krass' lackey, you're in charge now."
"....what?"
"Hey, your town Benson, I got to follow that Docwagon ambulance, just make him feel important..get some reporters and a Trid crew near the perimeter and feed him to the dogs, that'll keep him occupied while you work."
"Yeah, Let's see how he does with trid cams on his face...I hope he frags up."
I passed the yellow ribbon, out of the perimeter, put my weight on the pedal and took a left where the ambulance turned.
"Dispatch this is 0-7-4. I Need position of a vehicle, a DocWagon Ambulance marked 0-246..and the last rental of an Rolls-Royce Phaeton II at Rent-a-Stretch Armored vehicle Ltd."
"10-4, 0-7-4 We'll get someone on it soon.."
Soon? Dammit since they started putting suits in charge of Precincts, the force is crumbling down fast..

maybe you would have more luck tracking Van Halen?Even as Pops pulled out the report came back. "O-7-4 There is no Sat. tracker on any Doc Wagon Van with a Code 0-246. Repeat O-246 is NOT a registered Doc Wagon Van. As for the Rental it was supplied to Ace Tomato Company, downtown Seattle requested by a CEO Smythe for transporting two Junior VP's called Mr. Mao and Mr. Gobwit, one human, one dwarf for an unspecified period."Pops growled. The van was to long gone for him to find. He ordered an immediate alert to put out a drag net around the area but he had little hopes of catching this bird! He was correct. The target van was not on the street, it was being quickly dismantled into component parts. Henri watched the van leave and decided to tail it in the astral. That posed some dangerous problems. He couldn't see land marks and he had to be careful he didn't get too far away or trapped in a position where he couldn't get back to his body. He hoped Freddy, Widow, BB, and Quick were watching out for him. It would have HELPED if Freddy were here as well. The van made several quick turns and then just two blocks away pulled into an old warehouse. There were about twenty auras in side and with the addition of the van the count in the building was twenty seven. He dared not get too close. The mage unmasked was there and even very tired Henri thought it not wise to tangle with him. He also recognized Pelch's Aura as well. the dwarf seemed alive but unconscious. Five men including Pelch rose in the building and suddenly at the top they took off in an ARES Dragon chopper. They appeared to be heading back North and West towards down town or the docks in the chopper. He debated to himself, follow or not? In the air the mage could spot him following in astral form much easier than around the building and other aura's. Should he risk it? OOC: Pelch, "OK time for a break. Let's see where the next series of post go. Remember now looking for a van is not going to get you anything. The chop shop boys are dismantling it. They don't know anything of use. ONLY Henri knows about the chopper and he is not near his body. It's on him. Mao doesn't have the codes and locks for the house. Wheels if he gets too nosy, introduce him to a bomb if you want. As for how you folks are doing? Actually very well. You are farther along than I thought you would be. If Henri can pull his part off.... If Wheels can get his info in.... If Braddoc keeps the pressure on in his posts by moving the plot along and trying to cut my options he could do well, .. Finally if Mao and Pops team and get agressive at chasing me down as the mage I won't have as much time to meddle. You guys are learning, it's harder to set up attacks if I'm ducking a lot of hits from different areas. Good teamwork from you four this week. You now have a couple of days to think and post. Talk to each other, plan your attacks and try to coordinate. You could have this part completed by next week. Then we can get to some BIG money jobs. Good Luck!

OOC: Don't worry, you won't be alone..it's crazy to see how people react when you point at someone and says 'they did it'.

Mao and Mr. Gobwit, one human, one dwarf for an unspecified period."
Damn, so maybe that was just another illusion..I slowed down and took a right at the next intersection. "10-4 Dispatch, What can you dig out on that Ace Tomato Company, address, type of business everything. I also need anything you got and on those VPs. Try getting on the CEO too." I'm sure I wasn't able to get anything that useful, but at least the address and normal business information should be public knowledge. And with a decker looking into it, we could check the banking account for anything out of the ordinary.
"10-4, 0-7-4 will contact you with the information."
A short mental impulse and I was hearing the ring of Julian's phone. Julian and me when back a while, well back in '39 when I pulled him out of the streets and dragged him all over town during the Night..He was just a kid, and it wasn't pretty, but we still maintained contact, mostly because he was good with a deck, and I kept the heat away from him. Now he's not much taller, dwarves are short, but damn wiser on some subject..which I don't quite understand.
"Yeah, what?"
"Hey Julian, it's Robert."
"Hey Rob! How's it going? Enjoying retirement?"
"No, I got called back..I need your help..Double."
"Double! Damn must be big..or are you in a hurry."
"With a little luck, both."
"All right, what do you need?"
"I need you to find everything tiny bits of info about an Ace Tomato Company based in Downtown. Also on a CEO named Smythe and 2 VPs named Mao and Gobwit..I"ll send you a copy of that Mao's SIN information, try getting something out of that."
"Ok, so information about some business I never heard of and the CEO and 2 VPs, piece o'cake" I could almost see his smile getting broader and broader..he was planning something.
"Thanks Julian I"ll.."
"Quadruple."
"What?"
"I want 4 times my regular price..and that's only because it's you Rob I wouldn't even try that drek, I"m busy elsewhere, I would have not even pick up the line if it wasn't for you. Not to mention you're not asking from something that sounds easy. I need to take care of my sister you know?"
"4 times the amm...fine, you'll get your cred, half in advance as usual."
I transferred the funds and hung-up. That greasy slimebag...well at least he's not a chiphead, so he'll get it done. I parked my car in front of a Stuffer Shack and got my a soy-caf..erk..I didn't have one since 52..Still got the same after taste I hated.
"Detective?" The sound came from nowhere. Suddenly, the LoneStar mage appeared "I..lost the ambulance..in fact I never even saw them." That damn rut I wanted to scream at him, what will that bring me? He can easily disappear again and that'll be it.
Great now what? I didn't want to return to the scene with Krass' lapdog barking orders like he knew what he was doing. But those fake Docwaggoneers, why did they snatch him? And why all the illusions? Were they a third party involved in this..And what about that fact-finding team that arrived just right..But that wouldn't make any sence..why would the Mayor jeopardies an investigation like that? And doing it like amateurs too..Damn it';s hard to think with a working helicopter rotor so close to me..Wait Helicopter rotor? I looked up and caught a glimpse at a medium transport helicopter heading northbound.
"YOU!" Even is astral form the Mage jumped at my sudden move. "Follow that 'chopper and DON'T loose it, ask for back-up." The mage flew away, vanishing into thin air again.
"Central, this is 0-7-4. Patch me up to Air patrol." The transmission seems to cut, but an aging voice came into my head. "Sargent Brinks, Air Patrol, 23th." "Sargent, Detective O"Reilley, Organized Crime. There's a transport helicopter going northward toward Tacoma from Puyallup, corner..122nd and 6th Avenue. I would like you to track it down and follow it discreetly." "Like I care Detective, MY 'bird's standing ready for a REAL call, not some Mafia hide and seek drek." "Have you been listening to the radio Sargent? Those people in that helicopter killed 8 of our own, wounded 20 others, and blew up a MFL and a fraging lot of evidence. Now I need you to track those guys down so we can figure out from where they operate and then book'em or bag'em, which ever comes first." The line went silent for a few seconds. "8 of our own dead huh? 10-4 O'Reilley, 234.56 MHz get you directly to me in my 'bid, I'll have someone track it with the radar, we'll make them pay."
I ran to my car and starts the engine. "Hey O'Reilley! It's Benson. That Mayor-boy wants you here so he can track that bird with you..he looks pissed too." "Damn frag...fine I"m coming, be there in 30 seconds." 23 seconds later I was that the checkpoint, 'Mr.' Mao was standing still, arms crossed, looking pisse dlie my ex-wife. Great... I drove passed him made a U-turn and stopped the car near him "C'MON WE"RE LOOSING TIME HERE!" He jumped into the front passenger's seat of my Patrol-1 (Like I'll let him drive MY car) The door wasn't even closed as I stepped on it already hitting 40 km/h. "Buckle up for safety."
