(ok, need to ask pelch some questions, then i will post more, ps, going out of town tomorrow morning, to bed early today)
Widow held her chin in her hand as she thought for a moment. "I dont like the idea of those two going at it alone, but so far, they have shown themselves to at least be able to work smoothly with one another." she says as she grabs her two tonfas and puts them into the holders in her duster. "As for the rest of us, we better keep on guard just in case whoevfer went after Wheels decides to go after us here.
Both BB and Quick almost at the same time noticed that she had two tonfas. "Just how many of those damn things do you have anyway!?" BB almost screamed at widow. "Only two." she replied with a wink.
"Then what about the one that you broke over pelch's head?"
"Plastic, with a cut in it. Didnt you wonder why he didnt have a concussion when i hit him this time?"
Quick nodded, remembering when they all met, that widow had clocked him a good one, and only dented the tonfa while giving pelch a concussion. "This is true, he was not injured as much as before."
Widow gave quick a knowing smile. Yes, they had all been duped by him into feeling pity for him. "Dont let him know that i planned it though, ill make it up to him."

"How about we just rent a car then Pelch...i doubt a whole lot is filled with cars that are rigged to blow?"
Henri enters the room carrying yet another steamin mug of soy kaf. "If your I.D is blown, the rental car can be used to track you using it's transponder. If you're so keen to not use the city's nice, anonymous public transport, which by the way can be a real pain in the hoop for a surveillance team, why not steal a car then ditch it a few blocks from where you wanna go? If you move fast enough you'll be long gone by the time the 'star recovers it." "Fraggin' amatuers" he thinks as he takes a mouthful of the hot drink.
With a pointed look at Widow, Henri adds "We should really use the facilities in your office for drek like this."

but you can get 'bombed' every time you walk into a bar. It's time to speed up the action again, I suggest if you are not prepared you get that way fast. I've given you guys enough time to get ready. Remember, you folks are responsible for decisions and strategy this round. I suggest you look long and hard at what you want to find out and how you want to go about it.
OOC: Pelch, "I see O'Reilly made it in, is anyone getting the impression that the last explosion was not only a lead in for that but part of the actual chain of events? If you follow that deduction then that means I was just waiting for someone...anyone to leave the Lair. Why did Wheels get picked? That is a question you folks should be looking at. Wheels raised it privately before he had to leave but it doesn't mean you shouldn't pursue the answer for him! Wheels will still be amongst the missing for the next few days due to his IRL loss. We leave his IC status where it is until he returns.
Freddy you should recognize O'Reilly and might be able to give BB more information. If you don't remember maybe you should privately talk to Braddoc about it. Hint: O'Reilly has appeared in the UGR before..... you want to know, ask Braddoc.
Mao and Pelch are ready to go out and while Widow has not given a firm GO, it seems that Mao and I are free to navigate around, since it appears she is not going to stop us and has given a half hearted OK. Mao almost has to go. We need our bomb expert to check the site first hand. We may learn something. We have several ways to get there, Metro, Taxi, rental, Limo service.....to bad Mao's stunt car hasn't arrived yet.
In the meantime BB is at work."
BB was quickly going through the various newscasts as the others talked. She was getting the faces of the various people on the scene as witnesses, stills of the crime scenes, and running background checks on anyone she deemed might be important. She suddenly pulled up a face. "Anyone recognize this man. The news background tags him as a Detective O'Reilly, organized crime. Now why is Organized Crime suddenly being pulled into this?" She looked at Widow and Quick, "Is it a Star Organized Crime Unit or the UCAS? The bigger question we have to ask is who brought them in. "
"Fragging GREAT!" Pelch stated looking disgusted, "My bet is it's the Star. We've already had several run ins with them and even if it is UCAS, they would be working out of the Star HQ and have to notify them when in town. If I was guessing based on my knowledge of the Star, they're still angry over the Knuckles shooting. Now we got three bombs going off in less than a week. Krass has slowed down the Star investigation so they dumped it to the UCAS where Schultz is calling the shots. BUTT HOLE Politics as usual. This mess couldn't be any worse than if an elf or a dragon was involved!"
Widow glared, "You don't like elves do you."
Pelch looked astonished, "Where did you get that notion?"
Mao looked at his partner, "You just seem to always have an attitude about elves is why, moron. I think it's a good question why not answer it?"
Pelch shook his head sadly, "I'm the most misunderstood person in the city."
"Maybe, maybe not, answer the question." Quick said quietly.
"I don't hate elves, it's more like I'm jealous of them. Look at what happened. When they changed into elves they got the gold ring. Everybody went do lolly over them and the rest of us got treated like drek. They got it so fragging easy that I'm more disgusted than anything, I guess it just shows. I don't hate elves, I'm just bitter." Pelch finished thoughtfully. Then he smiled, "Besides they get laid more. They hump anything they can run down."
Widow rubbed the handle of her tonfa but thought better of it.
Henri spoke up, "We really don't have time for psyco work now. While you were busy I called for an armored limo. It's in the basement being checked by the Security group, especially for trackers and bombs. It will take you both to the site." He looked at BB. "Can you give them some type of legit cover through the matrix so they have a reason to be there poking around?"
BB smiled a foxy smile, "How about we make them a fact finding team from the Mayor's office to gravely assess the damaged area? No one will want to slot off Krass by giving them a hard time. I'll link it to their SIN's and when they get checked it will be clean."
Mao spoke, "You know if Wheels is still alive he's going to be real mad at this latest loss. He may have even lost friends and contacts."
Quick looked at Widow and then spoke up as well, " We all knew it was dangerous to go out. If they didn't know much about Freddy and Henri before you can bet they do NOW! They would have followed you two to your places when you went out and by now they probably ARE ready for you both and there is an insect Shaman involved so no watcher is going to find a bomb that has been planted. If I were you guys I would make plans right now to get your people out of those areas and get bomb checks done before you go there again. One other thing, I got Wheels to join us on this run with the stipulation that he wouldn't be getting all his stuff blown to drek. If he is alive we are going to have to make sure that his losses are repaid and then some. I'd be thinking about that too. If he's dead, we better start thinking about his heirs."
Widow thought a moment, "So if they could have had all three, especially two mages targeted in different locations why was Wheels singled out? They should have done Gremlin and Freddy too, they certainly could have. It makes no sense. Sure they would have known more about him. Sure Wheels was constantly in communication with that place before we changed comms and we slowed down the bugging. They would have known more about him but if they are corp driven they must know enough about Freddy and Gremlin and could have hit them as well."
BB looked at Widow thoughtfully, "That's easy. Wheels was more dangerous to their plan. I don't know why but it feels right. If someone is a threat you go after them, not the guys who are wasting their time on dead ends."
Quick smiled and picked up on her though immediately. "That makes sense. That has to be it. The bombings started when Wheels met Mao and Pelch at the Lantern. I wonder if Mao and Pelch had also been out if they would have been hit as well? My guess is, possibly. Sure Wheels could be the target they want, it seems he is. We don't know for sure that Mao and Pelch are actual targets or they were just unluckily in the wrong place at the wrong time and they wanted Wheels all along! If this is true it still makes it more dangerous to send Mao and Pelch out now. Freddy, Gremlin and I might have a better chance at survival. The three of them may know something that could get them killed. What did you guys talk about together at the lantern?"
Mao shook his head, "I don't remember. You and BB MIGHT have a possible answer but it doesn't seem enough to me. The other two still should have had at least a token attack made against them."
Pelch looked grim, "It's a power play. They ain't interested in the others, they may not be interested in Mao and I. Although they did target Mao's van."
"In what way is this a power play?" asked Freddy.
BB picked it up, "Information. The information has to be time sensitive."
"Exactly." Mao stated as well. "That means that it IS Wheels, Pelch and I they want. They'll kill us if we go out but they're content to keep us bottled up until a deadline has past. If they can keep us from doing anything that might give us a clue about what we know or that might jog our memories then they win."
BB looked at Pelch, "Do you remember what you guys said at the Lantern?"
Pelch thought hard, "Well Mao and I were arguing about the bet, but Wheels hadn't come in yet. We were talking about his visit with Tony, Let me see now, then Wheels came in and sat down, and then Mao said something like this:"
"I don't know why you were so worried, Wheels was with us all the time. If I had needed help he would have been there to handle it. You can trust Wheels. You tell him Wheels. Tell him how you had me covered all the way and nothing would have happened. Matter of fact he probably had the whole thing bugged and has pictures of Tony as well as the voice tapes of the conversation!"
"That's when all hell broke loose." Pelch finished confused. "Why should that bother anyone?"

OOC: We have armoured limos & a security group?! Sweet!! I'll take 2 I'll let someone else fill in locations for this post, since I've erm...mislaid my copy of New Seattle."So if they could have had all three, especially two mages targeted in different locations why was Wheels singled out?""Well, not to sound smug, but I'm careful about bein' followed and try not to stick to a set routine. It makes for a harder target. Predictability is a poor survival trait and from the looks of things, Wheels went straight to where they figured he would. A contact who could replace some of his losses." Henri lets the implications of that one sink in before continuing. "You know, we may be able to kill two birds with the same stone here. Follow me." Once everyone is squeezed into the 'office', Henri spreads some printed maps of part of the city on the desk, saying lightheartedly "This isn't quite how I planned it but what the frag, if we can't adapt and improvise we shouldn't be in this line of work. This is as cut down as it can be and still be workable." Already prepared for their reactions, Henri says "Ok, Pelch, Mao, you walk out of here as if you don't have a care in the world. You'll be the bait, whoever bombed Wheels' contact has to assume he told you what was on that recordin'" "EAT DREK AND DIE!! I've fished before and when you catch what you want, the bait always winds up dead!" is the predictable response from Pelch. BB looks horrified. Just as Mao is about to pipe up Widow chimes in with a grin in Pelch's direction "Let him finish, I like this plan already."Once Pelch's grumblings subside, Henri continues. "You won't be alone, Quick and me will leave with you under invisibility spells. I'd prefer if another heavy hitter could go, but someone needs to sustain the spells and I doubt I could manage three. If there's a hit team outside the door, you'll have back up and hopefully we can grab one of 'em and find out what we need, if not we carry on to the next part of the plan." Henri drags a piece of the map where everyone can see it and points to a maglev terminal. " "You'll take the maglev to this station, when you get there, wait for the platform to empty. Anyone following you will have to wait around and look conspicuous otherwise they risk losin' you since they can't see which exit you take." Henri looks up from the map to see if Pelch and Mao understand. Pelch looks a little bemused, but Mao nods & Henri carries on. "If you do see someone, get on comms and give a description, but don't give them any indication you know. Once you're out of the station walk down this street." Henri indicates a street near the station. "Quick and me'll be around watchin', if you see us don't acknowledge us. Walk along here then turn here, and turn again down here. Me and Quick'll be lurking there too." "But that's drek, it'd be quicker just to walk down there then here and here." Pelch protests, prodding the map with a grubby finger. "True." Henri nods, "I'm countin' on any civilians who know the city knowin' that. Anyone who passes me and Quick a second time after you two has no good reason to unless they're tailin' you, everywhere on here should be too busy for them to risk geekin' you in broad daylight...until you get to this dead end here." Pelch opens his mouth to protest again, but a look from Widow silences him and Henri continues detailing his plan. "Anyone that tries geekin' you here will have been I.D'd by now so feel free to return the favour but we want at least one survivor. Just don't hit me & Quick, 'cause we'll be following the bad guys who'll get a nasty shock when our rounds start headin' their way. Once it's all over, Widow, Freddy and BB will swing by and pick us up in the limo that's parked here, just in case we need backup." He points to a street just around the corner from the dead end. "Then we go poke around in what's left of that garage. Any prisoners can either go in the trunk or the back of the limo, the tinted windows'll stop anyone seeing 'em and BB can keep 'em sedated so they don't make a noise while we're lookin' for Wheels. If there's no-one after you then the limo picks us all up & we look for wheels anyway" Henri goes silent and sips his 'kaf waiting for Widow's Yea or Nay, knowing that none of this will happen without her approval.

OOC: Pelch, "I didn't say we owned the limo's or the security squad. Actually we are renting the limo. The Security group is the guys that check us in and out of the Lair and they work for Ace. Let's face it they don't want a bomb in their building either. Now to mess with Henri a bit."
Pelch glared at Henri, "Your plan has so much stink on the breeze that I suspect you ate beans. So before Widow goes placing her stamp of approval on it let me enlighten you. First if the limo is being checked in the ACE garage I don't have to fragging go outside and make myself a hairy fragging target for a 50 cal snipers rifle while you make with the mumbo-jumbo. I can get in the limo in our private area and go out to the site in armored, air conditioned comfort. Second once I get out to the blast site there will be at least TWO Lone Star FRT's out there scoping out the place. They'll be armed, cranked and PO'd to the max. Anyone tries to take me there and they're going to have their hands full. That ain't even counting the ORGANIZED CRIME UNIT, which is probably UCAS and they'll have enough backup for their guy to scare anyone away! Also they will have integral mage support for forensics and maybe just because they're feeling aggressive. You want to walk into that? Mao and I know the Star, we can work with them and it makes sense to lower the exposure level as much as possible. Now what is this about prisoners? Where did the fragging prisoners come from? You think the Star is going to let me walk out of there with fragging prisoners like I'm Neal the Fragging Orc Barbarian?"
Mao spoke quietly, "We appreciate the help, but it may be way too soon for what you want to put into place. Also, we have to consider, what about my comment set them off? No one has even dealt with that yet, but if it put Wheels and the rest of us on the chopping block don't you think we need to start thinking about it? Let me put it this way. You hired the moron and I to do a specific job for the group. We didn't hire to be bait or suicide warriors. We HAVE volunteered to go out. Don't you think you should let us do it our way? Now if you want to assign a cover? That's fine if you and the boss lady feel the need, BUT, Don't fragging tell us. What we don't know we can't spill if we get caught. If you assign a cover then let them do it there way. I am sure Quick knows enough tricks that you haven't thought of yet. So why tell him or us our job? Now I take it you are making a SUGGESTION, but don't we have the right, when it's our hoops on the line to say first whether we love it or not?"
"We been talking enough. We're wasting time and the trail is going to be stone cold by the time you guys get to planning it all out. I want to find out about Wheels. He may be in a bad way and you're holding me up. So, you don't mind, or even if you DO mind, Widow already said we could go. I was going to go by a different way but since you got that Limo, we'll use it. Waste not Want not. We'll check in when we get on site." Pelch turned and Mao followed him out of the room.
"Well that was really working together." Freddy remarked in despair. "Where do we go from here?"

OOC: Ok, time for a not so small clue about what Henri got up to in his time with the Serapham "Holy fraggin' christ and the angels!!" Henri says in frustration, glaring at the departing Pelch. "Stupid little fragger wasn't even listenin'. Widow, when I was taken on for my experience in workin' intelligence, you didn't say I'd be workin' with the perfect counter to any form of intelligence demonstrated, by anyone." Calming down somewhat and looking at the rest of the group, Henri says "Ok, as well as the fact that I'm a mage, Widow chose to make me a member of this team, and I use the term loosely, because I have experience in, amongst other things, intel and counter intel operations, which are vital for plannin or preventin' any successful hit. What was the point in that if anythin' I suggest is just gonna be ignored out of hand before the leader can give a verdict?" Before anyone can say something along the lines of "Quit with the tantrum" Henri continues "I'm not askin' anyone to be impressed by what I'm about to say. You don't know me that well yet and haven't seen me work at what I do. What I am askin' is that you think about it like the proffessionals we're all meant to be." He pauses for a second before asking "Would the Serapham teach their recruits techniques that didn't work and still enjoy the reputation that they've got now?" "The answer, unless you're Pelch, is no! If they taught drek methods their agents'd all get caught and be made to sing like canaries." Pointing at the map he says "My point is, the methods used in this work if you wanna flush out an unwanted shadow, which, from what's been said about that recordin', Pelch and Mao may have. Now, Pelch has a valid point about snipers and the limo being armoured, it's a damn site harder to lose a tail in a car than it is on foot, but that could have been made to work to our advantage." Sounding rather sarcastic in order to make his point, Henri fires off a barrage of questions. "Oh and lets say they do have a tail, has anyone stopped to think what might happen while Pelch and Mao are out of the limo and rummagin' through what's left of the garage, if said tail has knowledge of workin' with bombs? Is it possible we may loose two more team members, the bad guys take out a good chunk of the people investigatin' their handy work and contaminate any original forensic evidence, leavin' us more in the dark than we already are? Have some of the team been bleatin' about bein' too reactive and not pro-active enough? Would this plan have been a good exercise in workin' as a team, even if we came up with zip? Would it have been good experience usin' the new comms systems? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last time those two went out to play by themselves, didn't we end up with two, expensive, wrecked vehicles, a bar full of casualties and the rest of us havin' to avoid the 'star and news cameras when we got out of the area? This may be the military in me, yeah they can say if they like the idea or not. But doesn't the LEADER get to say whether they do it or not?" "Just in case Pelch's little diversion confused anyone, the (so far theoretical) prisoners would come from us ambushin' anyone who might have tried to ambush Pelch and Mao in the dead end. Not the bomb scene, which by the way, how much forensic knowledge do those two have between them? Also, for the record, this was all just a suggestion, I wasn't tryin' to tell Quick or anyone else how to do their job. I suggested Quick because he's our only heavy hitter that wouldn't stand out in a crowd." Looking at Widow, Henri says seriously "Don't take this the wrong way Widow, but you need to find a way to get Pelch to tow the line. From what I've seen, speakin' as a pro and as ex-military, he's the main problem gettin' this group to work as a cohesive unit. He's too used to workin' on his own and not havin' to consider the effect his actions have on anyone else. Sooner or later, he's gonna flounce out on his own like he just did and someone's gonna end up dead cause of it." He finishes his little tirade with something that he hopes will get them thinking about exactly how much trouble Pelch just caused by walking out before Widow could say anything. "Where do we go from here?""Well, unless Widow plans to order them to RTB, I'd be interested to hear any suggestions of how we can make sure that limo doesn't get bombed while they're not in it, believe me it can be done, despite all the cops there. And I don't know about you guys, but I'd prefer it if we didn't get our every move watched or get attacked ourselves."

Quick looks over at Henri "I know you were not tellin me how to do my job and I don't speak unless I have something I need to say , for the most part, I like your idea and it would be a good way to get some teamwork in and check on the comms as you stated however I did get Wheels in this and I don't want to lose him as a contact or friend and at this time I would rather retrieve him and test our skills after he is ok or at least recovering at this point we still don't even know if he made it. So unless either you or Freddy can check on him or maybe ask a friend to check that whoever is after us may not think to watch I really want to know my friend is ok. I know the final call is yours Widow and I will do as I was told and act as you wish but I believe we need to at least see where Wheels is maybe he even got picked up by Lone Star if he survived for questioning maybe BB can check that out but it is just a thought.

(OOC poo - another earlier post went missing.. Freddy suggested that he fly over to check Wheels out, with Henri as astral overwatch.. but that's been and gone..)
Lots of potential explainations why theyre after Wheels - there are a few early links - like who was the original guy here who lit out - and the roumours about Dom's new squad, early intel was all about Dwarven meta's..
But it doesnt matter why at the moment, what does matter is getting a lead- we need to liase with the Star to get some intel on them - some fotos from the Lantern area should turn up something - a piccy to go on then put out the word and trail them down. We know what were looking for to a certain extent - it is going to be difficult to hide a lot of chrome the shaman's oppo was carrying.. it is one lead weve got and we aint followed it.
Mao an Pelch are our liason officers with the Star - lets get liasing - over the trid - it would reduce the potential of more watches going missing from Star officials and pissing them off. Also means Pelch can concentrate on using his quick thinking.. Lets get copies of the trids from the Star and scruitinise them for some identification.
The shaman has wizz-banged us once - and could easily have put a tag onto any known locations that Wheels was visiting, connect a camera up to a matrix link and feed it an ID - it squeaks when you arrive. Now Wheels needs checking out - how about I physically fly over there ...
He was gone for how long? so it isnt a knee-jerk reaction hit, it is a gather-info-and-put-the-plan-into-action hit, planned out a while ago.
Is he good at losing a tail ? - shouldnt matter - because once he was spotted in the area - they responded. Why would they know me or Henri - we were pulled in for this job after this origional guy decided to leave.. another lead that could be followed up.. JJ will have HIS file, could be some mileage in that, but I doubt it.
I dont think the Star will have any Mage cover or UCAS support out there under standard circumstances - its just a big explosion - fire department and a couple of officers - who might call in backup if the feel it need it.
The guy there is 'Pops' O'Reilly - I worked with him a while back, I did think he had city connections - but he was happy to mix his day-job with his night-job... smart cookie, likes to get things done, not a stickler for procedures.
Could be a good time for Pelch and Mao to extend hands out to the Star - and tell them that there could well be a link to the Lantern bombing - that could stir them up. Over the trid... no need to go in person, that's why comms were invented. Put us in a good light with them - well a better one anyway.
What about Henri's counter plan... its good, but relies on them watching us - if theyre not, then at least we get to Wheels - how about sending in docwagon to the site Widow?
When we get there I could introduce our liason officials to Organised Crime investigation...

....makes you as high as a kite and crazy to boot!
OOC: Pelch, "Gremlin raised an excellent point in private tonight. I thought I would share it a bit. In essence he wanted to know if during my last comment to Henri, was I trying to steer the group or was Pelch being a wanker? It would be interesting to hear what your views were on that but here is mine for what it's worth."
"Basically, in a previous thread Gremlin had wrote that Pelch was not thrilled with his plan. To me that supplied my immediate direction and reaction. To keep the storyline in context, suddenly, Pelch was NOT opened to the idea. Pelch is also, like most of the dwarven race, notoriously stubborn and hard headed. You will note that on many occasions Wheel's and Davik before him exhibited a similar trait? Sure I could have changed my mind as Pelch, but I chose not to for various reasons. Neither do I desire to steer the group. As I mentioned to both Boombaby and Mao, I want the players to figure direction or strategy in this game thread and onward as a learning experience. Remember as GM I must harass, delay, confound, obfuscate and sometimes play Devil's Advocate. It is the nature of my job. Be wary of Pelch or BB doing the same, although with BB I am able to play it straighter and more truthfully. Her morals are better."
"OK so let's examine WHY I chose Pelch to act the way he did. First when you as a player write me with a view I usually try to carry it through. I consider it a challenge. Second, we must remember the NATURE of the game. This is Shadowrun. It is not a cozy, safe profession. We take risks and 90% of the runners die young without making a score or a name. It's the nature of the Biz. Why create a character and try to make things super safe? You didn't come to play SR to be SAFE! In SR, being safe will NEVER happen. So Pelch will act recklessly on occasion if he feels pushed to do so. That means I have to follow his moral code. I can already hear the yells of derision and laughter. Pelch with a moral code? I smile and say 'Absolutely'. His code of ethics is flexible but it does exist when certain circumstances are met. He can fight tooth and claw with Widow, Mao or Wheels, but when they are in trouble he WILL act to help them. He 'PRETENDS' not to be concerned with anyone but himself and that is because in this business, friends die! Frequently! He keeps you all at arms length emotionally because Pelch does KNOW the odds of survival and doesn't want to deal with the emotional drek if you should happen to kick off during a run. It doesn't mean he won't charge in to rescue any of you though if he thinks he can save you."
"Now I expect Freddy, who is married in game to have a totally different view. He has a family and attachments and that HAS to color his attitudes. He will be much more cautious and methodical than Pelch, Mao , Widow, Quick or Wheels. More importantly though the rest of you have to think about Running and your relationships and strike a balance you can live with. You can't be super cautious but you can't be too reckless either! Running is NOT a safe, secure profession and it is not always a golden parachute to your old age. The number ONE rule in a game is that your character CAN and will die and it may only be by luck! Be ready to accept that as a gamer! Think carefully WHERE you want your character to be and HOW you want him or her perceived. For instance, Wheel's situation. You see I EXPECT Wheels to be RECKLESS. It is in his character as we have pointed out SEVERAL times. His leaving the Lair after his arguments was a reckless act but fully in character. It was up to Widow to stop him or one of his chums! It didn't happen. That is playing the character fully even if it means you take a loss that really isn't your fault! Wheels took the hit to keep his character, the storyline and the game on track. If Widow had stopped him from going out? Well let's say the immediate happenings would have been different. The end of the story, need not be different though, if you catch my meaning. "
"On a different note I liked the way Freddy linked DAVIK to the bombs. You see Davik loved bombs, and due to that it was one reason why I started the concept of the 'Mad Bomber'. Keep investigating and you might just learn more about him. Davik is a bit of a dead end though because Davik is a player character that is no longer in the thread, so I really couldn't use him further in the scenario unless he wished it. Freddy's premise is reasonable in game context, but unfortunately I cannot use it in the plot-line for out of context reasons. You will have to look for your reason elsewhere."
OOC: Pelch, "RATS! I had a nice post with me an Mao and the Browser fragging DIED. I HATE FRAGGING NETSCAPE! Who designed this latest drek? I'm going to cut off both their arms and dip the stumps in rock salt! Then I'll dig a big hole and dump them and a truckload of dung on them and they'll have to eat their way out! I'll take out their eyes and nads with a rusty spoon! I'll place a red hot steel pipe up their backsides and make them drink gasoline! No more writing today. I'm too disgusted. Maybe I'll try to recreate it tomorrow. I hate those fraggers."

.... to Mao it's a contact sport."
Mao and Pelch walked up the tunnel from the Lair to the secure parking garage. Mao calmly adjusted his hat. "Don't you think you were a little hard on Henri back there? He was only trying to help."
Pelch didn't even look back, "No." He stated shortly.
Mao looked at Pelch. "No? He had a plan and you blew him off, insinuated he was stupid and walked away without even trying to understand what he was saying. I would say that was pretty rude. You could have been a little nicer, although considering it was you, maybe not.."
"I was 'nicer'. I didn't pull out one of my guns and shoot him in the foot. I didn't even yank out my knife and cut off his nads. I would call that pretty restrained."
Mao looked at Pelch steadily, "Are you trying to be funny or are you really mad? With your face I have a hard time deciding when your serious or not."
"Look kid, wise up. There are a lot of politicians, lawyers, accountants, mages and big shots who tell you they are looking out for you. That's baloney. They look out for themselves and if they can gain prestige, money or power setting your hoop up to make themselves look good they'll do it. Mages can be the worst for that. The big shots just love to stick you in some situation where your chance of surviving it is for drek. Now if your boy Henri has such a fine Grand Master Plan then why isn't he the one risking his hoop as a shooting gallery target? He volunteered you and me. He didn't ask if we were willing to BE a clay pigeon, now did he? So why should I want to go take warm showers with him?"
Mao said nothing further as they walked into the security area of the garage and took the keys from the Sec Guard. It was obvious that Pelch would not be driving. He keyed the remote and doors hissed as they raised. Mao got in and watched Pelch climb in shotgun style. Mao re-keyed the remote and the doors re-sealed and pressurized. Interiors lights came softly on.
"Not bad." Pelch stated standing up in the seat which was definitely not built for a dwarf. He turned and looked over the seat into the back. "DAMN! I should have gotten in the back! They got booze and food and Cuban cigars and even a trid!" He struggled to get over the large soft seat.
Mao touched a button on the console and the bullet/soundproof privacy window sealed Pelch off from the back. "We don't have time to party. You need to keep straight and bright, just in case. Now sit down and put on your seatbelt."
Pelch looked sadly at Mao, "To think of all the times I looked after you and saved your life. This is how you treat me. How can you be so ungrateful. You call ME, Rude?" Pelch turned and sat down, quickly tightening the five-point harness as Mao smoothly started the engine and started to roll out of the garage area.
Mao entered traffic in his usual manner. This means he IGNORED such minor things as STOP signs, rights of way, and on coming traffic. He pulled out straight onto Fifth avenue blocking both lanes and headed South towards Tacoma and Puyallup. Horns blared, tires squealed, brakes smoked. The air was filled with the sounds of frustrated drivers and angry curses. Very little of the noise penetrated the armored limo but what did certainly got Pelch's if not Mao's attention.
Pelch looked at Mao and stated snidely, "Where did you learn to drive, moron? The Chinese School of Road Rage? They gave you a Master's Degree in Driving, Right? "
"Nope." Mao stated calmly, not at all put out by the comment or the other drivers verbal abuse. "The Lonestar Pursuit School where the bigger the gun and armor the more right of way you have. I remember my first ticket, I ever got. It was a 300 NuYen fine for passing on the wrong side of a subway train."
Pelch nodded grimly, "I should have recognized the style from the Lone Star patrol cars."
Mao said nothing as he softly bumpered a smaller Jackrabbit Nissan in front of him sending it spinning off the road. It was moving to slow and he was in a hurry. Krass would be proud of his style. "Who are you trying to kid, you never drove a patrol car."
"Drove? No. I have been an honored 'guest' several times."
"Let me guess. Public Nuisance, Right?"
"Nope. Turkey Rustling, four times. When you get hungry you just got to try several times. I was surprised at how big a turkey can get."
Mao continued down the road but he had to wonder, where did anyone find live turkeys to rustle in Seattle?

OOC: True, I had Pelch objecting, as I thought he would based on past behaviour. But I also had Widow listening to the plan before making a decision, which although the point is moot now, she didn't do, regardless of whether Pelch & Mao stuck around or not. Going running hell for leather to see if Wheels is ok may be the humane and decent thing to do, but as Freddy pointed out we've already been recon-ed by fire once, so it probably isn't the smart thing to do.
As for Pelch's IC question about why Henri didn't volunteer himself, simple. We think we know the three amigos are the bad guys main target, but Henri doesn't have access to any of the Mask spells. Perhaps I should have mentioned that when outlining the idea, but OOC I was expecting the question when people poked holes in the plan & was gonna answer it in a later post.
I admit I didn't ask Pelch & Mao if they were willing, but since Widow's supposed to be the leader I figured it'd be her call if she was willing to risk two assets (for want of a better word), even if they were willing. If they weren't & she was, it becomes a case of if they follow orders or not.
Pelch made a point about 'runnig not being a safe proffession. I wasn't trying to make any of us 'impossible to get to' or safe or being super cautious. Just like Freddy though, Henri's situation requires that he covers his tracks as well as can be. Why didn't he mention it at the interview? Would you when you needed the cash that badly? Besides he left all that behind a good while ago, right?
I hope it isn't taken the wrong way by Pelch or anyone else. But isn't using Pelch & BB to harass, delay, confound, obfuscate etc a bit of a conflict of interests between Pelch as GM & Pelch as Pelch? (this could get confusing ) What I mean is, if that's the case & GM Pelch uses IC Pelch (who's meant to be a contributing member of the team) to keep us on our toes, (not that I have a problem with being kept on my toes) aren't we going to spend most of our time clearing up messes they cause through Pelch's recklessness or BB's wet behind the ears-edness?
I know some of that could have been addressed IC, but despite the fact it'd be a nice lesson for everyone, Henri has no real, long term desire to see those two become a red mist on the wind, so I aint gonna delay any longer. On with the show."Yeah, Freddy, us catchin' someone to interrogate relies on them watchin' us. But if we don't catch anyone talin' us it means they're gettin' their info on our movements some other way." Henri looks round the room and sees that no other ideas about security for the limo are about to be forthcoming. "Since we're drek out of vehicles we know are bomb free except Widow's bike, I'll keep an astral eye on 'em until you lot can come up with somethin' better...BB open the fraggin' door and make sure it's left open unless this place is attacked." Feeling guilty for snapping at her when none of this was her fault, he adds more gently "Please. You might wanna track the limo's transponder too...just in case." Taking his cue from Pelch, Henri leaves the room without another word and settles into the comfiest chair he can find. After a quick check to make sure he wasn't followed, he was soon present at the blast site. Remaining at a discreet distance, he waits for the arrival of a certain limo after deciding there were too many 'star mages keeping astral snoopers at bay to risk getting caught poking around himself. Perception:[dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Rule of six:[dice=6] OOC: Gah! my browser crapped out as I hit post, thank God I learnt from the last time & copied the text. Ok, post's been edited. Feel free to read then abuse me as you see fit. [rand=24192762735937712338118411718577535576316277968397767877549707022]

OOC: Pelch, "I just love things crammed up my Bum. No need to be lonely. I had to do some character history tonight and answer Private Mail, so I was bit behind when I got to here. I see Gremlin was smarter than I, he moves his work over from another application in case this one fails. Old habits do die hard. Now I'm fairly eager to get to the meat of things."
"OK, I see that I as Pelch have gotten to Gremlin a bit. That is not always a BAD thing. In this case it brings out some interesting comments. First consideration, Pelch is NOT always correct in his statements. Of course he has a differing viewpoint that may or may not be true. You continue to falsely assume that Pelch's IC view is my actual GM or even personal view. I assure you it is NOT. It is the way Pelch looks at things. Mao can chose to believe it or not, but Mao is NORMALLY non confrontational because of his 'problem' and is loathed to escalate differences of opinion. Don't take his lack of response for agreement. It's not. "
"Now let's examine this part more closely: let me take it in-line to do full justice to his comment, which is exceptionally good in my opinion." OOC: Gremlin, " hope it isn't taken the wrong way by Pelch or anyone else."
"Not at all. I find the comment excellent."
"But isn't using Pelch & BB to harass, delay, confound, obfuscate etc a bit of a conflict of interests between Pelch as GM & Pelch as Pelch? (this could get confusing ) What I mean is, if that's the case & GM Pelch uses IC Pelch (who's meant to be a contributing member of the team) to keep us on our toes, (not that I have a problem with being kept on my toes) aren't we going to spend most of our time clearing up messes they cause through Pelch's recklessness or BB's wet behind the ears-edness? "
"Is this a conflict of interest? It most certainly IS! Now this raises a serious and just question that should be closely examined by the players as it is mostly addressed to them! You as PLAYERS should respond! It is indeed a question of fairness and partiality. The players MUST address this issue and decide in which direction we should go. Do we remove Pelch and I continue as Full Time Moderator? Do we continue as I have been, with both character and moderator duties? OR do we request a new moderator and I continue as PLAYER only?"
"To help with this task, let me make a couple of pieces of information available from my side of the fence. "
Fact One: "BB is NOT a player character. Currently, she is an NPC and so I can legitimately use her to do what I am doing. Now if one of you wants to create a decker character to fill the gap, you are welcome to do so. Or if you can find another player who would like to be the decker then by all means, bring them in. If a new moderator wishes to take her over, he is welcome to do so. IF I handle Pelch as a player character, I could then create BB as a player character if the group so wishes. This is one side of the coin."
"Fact Two: Pelch is a totally different story as Gremlin righteously points out to you. You see I started this thread in the UGR as an advertisement to get Pelch into a game. Johnson moved this thread with Pelch, (kicking but not putting up much of an argument) into this room. I debated with myself about moving Pelch OUT of the room but chose NOT to because I didn't wish to appear argumentative with Johnson, especially publicly, for obvious reasons. I desire to support his decisions and rulings on this site, and continue to do so. Johnson stated he was actually going to be the moderator and I was just building history for him as a history specialist, so I accepted that for the time being. When Johnson ran into problems it caused this problem to be more prevalent since Johnson is not around as much to appeal to and of course I am still very limited in how far I can go."
"So in actuality, Gremlin or any of you has the RIGHT to poll the group on any decision in the game and talk over my procedures and comments with each other without my intervention! Should Pelch be removed from this thread? It would limit me and make me less prone to meddle from inside the group. Or should Pelch be allowed to stay? If so, then you as a group must deal with all the facts and possibilities Gremlin has shown us, along with a few he has yet to mention, due to politeness and decorum's sake. So if I were you folks I would consider carefully where you wish to take this game. I would give Gremlin's words considerable thought and weigh them carefully before we continue. Players have RIGHTS and PRIVILEGES and his demand for a fair game is paramount. Make your opinion KNOWN even if you think it will hurt my feelings! I'll most certainly abide by the group decision. Feel free to use the NEW thread to discuss this. I have labeled it 'The Soapbox' I will answer QUESTIONS there but will attempt not to express my VIEW on this issue one way or another. Good Luck whichever way you decide and Well Done!"

'The Bellyache', not exactly the name that might bring customers in, but hearing Benson talk, this is the best place to eat in this neighborhood. The diner was well-placed too; right inside the perimeter on the corner of 5th and Crossland Way. Half the place's large bay windows facing the 5th were blown out by the blast alone, but those on Crossland Way were still in one piece.
"Nice Place" Of course Roberts didn't spare the sarcasm. The interior looks like it was stolen from some 1960s trid movie, lots of 'restored' junk on the walls (and I do use the term loosely; it was mostly without that much damage or dust), at least the jukebox seems to be in working order..Huh..even got old vinyl records in it..
"C"mon guys, let's go seat at my usual spot..best place in the house!" The fat dick lead us to a 4-place table, in in the corner of the street. It was a nice place..great view of the street corner all the way down to about 500 meters in every direction. The patrons, all humans, were being interrogated by beat cops, bike officers and highway patrolman. There was an Ork in the lot, he seems to have been close to the blast by the way he was shaking..and I doubt that they give blankets for the fun of it too.
A pretty piece, around 35 came to our table, menus in hand. By the way her legs stretched out forever, she must make nice tip, whatever nice tip means in this place. "Jon, how come you always bring company when drek hits the fan?" "C'mon Mary, you know my wife must never found out about us!" Benson and Mary shared a accomplices smile. Yup, that wasn't his first time in here "The usual?" "Sure Mary..Try the meatloaf guys, it's the specialty, even comes with drink"
"All right, meatloaf, with a glass of water."
"Make it 2, but with a beer" "Make it 3..and with a soy cheeseburger hold the onions..and some pie..anything that got sugar in it."
"Well..we got sugar pie." "2 pieces please...and can you refill my thermal cup..It's ok that I bring it in here." "Sure, you're not the first cop in here...I"ll be right back."
She left, leaving us time to get to know each other better. Benson was coming from Tacoma, in the small Lone Star enclave in there. Wife and 2 kids..damn his daughter's an ugly duckling. Probably got the mustache from his father. He worked the trenches of Puyallup for the last 15 years now, moving up from highway patrol to Investigation. Roberts' another one that came from Precinct 24. He actually grew up in Puyallup proper, no doubt going a few times into Loveland and Carborado. He's still living down at the precinct "Better than the apartments and tenements." as he put it. He moved from Beat patrol 2 years ago. His knowledge of Puyallup might come in handy if the C12 trail brings us to the smuggling rings around here.
Dalton spend 2 tours in the Desert Wars and managed to came back in one piece. turns out his cyberware was a gift from the F.B.I. when a bomb in an Metahuman Community center in Auburn, blew up in his face. He was judged unfit for duty a year after that and came to LoneStar. His unit down in Precinct 5 was the one who handled the preliminary forensics in Downtown last week. No wonder he's around.
Mine was a short but fill story; got my assignment in '39, 2 weeks before the Night. Beat patrol, Vice, Murder, then Organized Crime. I did talked about my (ex)wife and 3 kids, leaving the situation with Benjamin on the side. They didn't have to know that..Who knows who they might be talking to back at the station, or in the streets.
"2-4-5, 2-4-5, come-in 2-4-5" "2-4-5 here. Go ahead central." "2-4-5, Cleanup on it's way, ETA 20 minutes." "Roger Central. 2-4-5 out."
"About time they decided to show their face..right when I was in the middle of dinner."
"Let them work for a change, I"m sure they can figure out what to do without us."
"Heh..Damn Bob, do you always eat that much? How'd you manage to stay thin? I eat one soy burger and I managed to gain 5 pounds form it."
I grinned at Benson, he was really digging hard to figure that out "Word to the wise Jon." I tapped my throat "If you decide to get some bioware, read the fine print. I eat twice as much some I got that tyroid bio last month. I usually would only gotten a soy burger and even then I would'nt even have eaten it all."
"Well at least it's organic, it's not like it's some machine."
"Yeah, but that doesn't scare to drek outta someone during interrogation."
"You got that right Dalton." "All units around Pioneer road. Clean up is on it's way. ETA 20 minutes. Looks sharp boys, Let's show those Downtown jerks how we do things in Puyallup."
"You heard the detective. Stop pushin' beetles."
"Frag off Roberts."
The diffrent cops all laughed on the airwaves. It seems Roberts is somewhat popular with the guys. If he tried that anywhere else, he would have taken a truck load of drek.

Mao pulled up to the site like he owned the fragging place and lowered the window so a Lone star trooper could look in. The trooper was obviously surprised. Instead of two well dressed big wig corp suits, he saw a scruffy looking human with a partially burned hat and a dwarf with a deerstalker cap and huge parrot feather sticking out of his hat! These clowns had to have stolen the limo! Mao appearing bored handed him his S.I.N. chip.
The cop took it warily and slotted it, read the script and frowned more. A fragging FACT FINDING mission from the DOWNTOWN Mayor. They were way off their fragging turf. They didn't look like any fact finding team he had ever seen! Maybe something had been hacked! If they were a team though this could be trouble. The cop did what any smart young rookie would do. He sent for the Sargent!
The sarge had seen it all. He looked at the evidence. He personally phoned City Hall and got confirmation. He looked for flaws in the S.I.N. It all came up clean. "You guys are way off your turf. Now why would Krass be interested in an explosion down here in Puyallup?"
Mao knew Lone Star technique and so did Pelch. Mao kept a straight face. "Krass had a corp guy down here in the building when it went up. Naturally he has an interest in what happened. Also you might recall Harry Braxton was investigating a similar series of explosions in Denny Park. They also had a sniper up there. We are curious if it's the same fragger."
The Sarge looked at Mao, "You with the Star? You look familiar like I seen you before."
Pelch growled gutturally with a strange laugh, "None of your pig sniffer lip! Do I have to spell it out for you? He's a corporate skipper and ran out on his contract with the Star! He's a wanted man and your bosses have a reward out for him. Why he USED to be a stupid, retarded fragging flatfoot just like you. Now he's a freelance retarded flatfoot investigator and bomb expert for Krass. That makes him several letters and one name higher than a stupid drone like you. You bozo's, we'll find a bomb but only if you sit on it and it crawls up your hoop to nest! Any chances you have of discovering anything going on will be limited to donut shops and then it won't do you any good because you scum faces will eat all the evidence."
The sarge glared, "Who the hell are you and where did you get the stupid HAT!"
Pelch smiled back viciously with a strange glint in his eyes, "At least my hat ain't burnt like his," He points a thumb at Mao, 'it doesn't even look like a porta potty like yours. I've had this forever. It's a VALUABLE family heirloom. It was own by the Lord High Gobwit who created the marching song about grain futures. Show some fragging respect you date rape artist or I'll pin that badge to your tiny little pecker, gum shoe!"
Mao, tried to get something out, but Pelch was obviously on a roll as he climbed over onto Mao so he could yell in the cops face. The seat and the belts made it hard for Mao to move.
"Why don't you get your fat donut chewing lard ass out of our way so we can get some REAL work done, you goofball? You Lone Star butt heads couldn't find your ass if you used both hands in broad daylight!"
"All right you two out of the fragging car."
"If I have to get out of this car I'm going to kick your ass up around your ears where it belongs." Stated Pelch with a smile. "Now I know this idea is hard for you Lone boy but KRASS pays the Star. That means, you fragging contractor, that you work for us, the City of Seattle. Now get your lame beer swilling, coffee drinking pie hole out of our window before I put my fist in it!"
The cop started to reach for his gun.
Lone Star: [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6]
Pelch: [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6]
Pelch was quicker. He reached over and grabbed the cop by the ears and pulled him half way inside the car blocking the window so he couldn't get his gun arm inside. "Wrong move, porky." Mao was stunned for a moment and then tried to help the cop out.
What the frag are you doing, you idiot?" Mao yelled as he tried to get Pelch to let go of the struggling cop.
The sarge was bellowing threats. "I always wanted to hear a pig squeal." Pelch stated with a death grip on the ears. "Squeal for me piggy." He looked at Mao with a smile on his face. A big smile. An UNUSUAL for Pelch smile. "Now why don't you just pull ahead? I want to start looking for Wheels."
"Because you imbecile I CAN'T. I'm stuck under you and the cop and can't get to the wheel! You are going to get us arrested!" Mao yelled in exasperation!
Pelch looked disgusted and then suddenly punched the cop in the face!
[dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] [dice=6] The cop stunned fell to the ground. Pelch moved back and Mao was able to release his seatbelt and step out with his hands up. "You Wuss." He heard Pelch say as he rolled up the window and the door locked.
Henri was watching the limo as it pulled up to the checkpoint. As he looked astrally he noticed a strange astral fog seemed to crawl slowly over the ground and to the limo. It entered the passenger side through the door. He noted Pelch's astral aura seemed to get darker a Fight suddenly broke loose between a Lone Star cop and Pelch. Something definitely was wrong!

"About damn fragin' time..." The Mobile Forensics lab pulled on 5th. The long rectangular vehicle looked more like a RV that people over 60 sells their house to buy and drive off to Florida, only to leave it there and live in it. Those bastards even painted it all black, it looks just like the one they used on that LSCIS show..I wonder who's the dumb-ass who thought of that one over at PR Office.
"Well, I"m gonna go check it out, I need to get up anyways." "I"ll come along, maybe they'll spot some un-exploded devices." I grabbed by small plate with my soy-cheeseburger and my mug in one and and got out of the Bellyache, Dalton following close behind "Don't forget to bring it back Detective." "Sure thing Mary, don't worry about it." WE just got out of the diner as the MFL parked himself right on the street corner, blocking our view of the crime scene. A young go-getter, should be around 25-27, 6'0", got out. "Hi guys, Detective Yzerman, Forensics. He extended his hand. Too bad I was holding my plat and mug in my right hand. Dalton didn't seems in the mood "The frag took you so long? We called you 2 and a half hours ago." "Yeah well..we had to get brief, and then do inventory and since 3 guys on our team were sleeping, they had to take a shower and eat something first, you know how it is?" "I know there's been a fragin' explosion and while we''re here grabbing our asses with 2 hands because we can't do drek until you people arrive, you're taking inventory, and a bite to eat? What they hell do they teach you at the Academy today?..If I were you, my lab would already be prep for going out AND I would have dropped the shower. We're ain't public relations kid, when the call gets in we move, all right?" I took a bite out of my dinner, only to get half the topping falling out of it. Just like a real cheeseburger. "So, how'll you proceed?"
The kid seemed in a daze, but my question brought him back "Humm....well I send the mage in astral to see what's under the rubble, and I did called Public service for some heavy machinery to move it all out of the way." He glanced quickly at Dalton, but we remade the eye contact quickly enough "So..'think there's still a bomb somewhere in the building." "Dunno, you find out, I move in. Sounds good?" "Yeah..yeah..so wanna come in guys?" "I"m eating, after I will, I just needed the fresh air." "You know the restaurant's got half it's windows blown off." "NO? For real? Damn you're good, 'ever taught of a career in law enforcement?"
I grinned and walked away, looking for the bike patrolman who was interrogating the Ork. He left a few minutes after we began eating. I find him quickly enough, the 4 bikes of the highway patrol were all parked together. "Hey there." "Hey Detective." "You questioned the Ork right ? Did he knew something?"
"Yeah. He said the place was owned by some dwarf named Buddy, some mechanic or technician, he wasn't sure. He came to deliver some car pieces, got paid and he was in front of the diner when the thing went off. Poor kid got a shock.. I can imagine, one second you there, the next the building ain't.."
"He went in the place?"
"Nah, he stayed outside. 'Said another dwarf named Bobby opened up. Since he heard that Buddy's voice in the back, he didn't asked questions."
"Right..Anything else?"
"He's still in shock Detective. He's just a kid. Gunshots might be frequent here, but explosion? Now that's something you don't see everyday."
"09, at Crossland Way checkpoint, 09 at Cros.." I looked and saw a Sargent getting projected away from a limo, followed by some guy with a cowboy hat exiting the vehicle and reaching for the sky.
"All right, large V in front, get those shotties here." I jog to the checkpoint, almost loosing my lunch while at it. That limo sure looked liked the fancy kind..the fancy armoured kind too. 2 beat cops were cuffing the cowboy who was lying on the sidewalk..
"What the hell is going on?"
"Don't know Detective."
"What the hell do you mean 'you don't know'?"
"Well those guys are a fact-finding team sent by Mayor Krass of Downtown." What the hell?..Why would the Mayor send some snoopers here? "I found it strange because they don't look like City Officials or anything, they look like bums. So I went to ask Sargent O'Neil, and he went to ask them some question. But the dwarf went nuts and pulled him in, and then he punched him. He still locked inside." I checked the cowboy's SIN. The info checked out, but..Even if they didn't have fancy suits, how come his hat's burned up like that? A human matching his description and a dwarf were arrested last week in Denny Park, but they got out quickly, so the file never really worked on with those 2..So they might know something. That or it's one hell of a coincidence. "YOU IN THE VEHICLE! GET OUT WITH YOUR HANDS ABOVE YOUR HEAD OR WE WILL USE FORCE!" Well, good to see that the HTR team are on the job. The Beat cop was frisking the cowboy when he pulled out a Manhunter. "Hey Detective, it's fully loaded, and the serial number are not visible...Drek, are those AV rounds?" The patrolman watched me, I simply looked over the SIN.."I don't see no conceal weapons permit, book him for illegal possession of a restricted weapon, illegal possession of military equipment.." I looked over at the Sargent, he was lying near, dragged from the limo by a colleague of his "..and complicity of murder 1 one a Lone Star Peace Officer." I knew I didn't have much time with him, since I"m sure his Guardian Angel would send some lawyers and whatnot to bail him out. I had to act fast. "Scan him for cyberware and magical affinity, read his his right and take him to my car."
