"Krondax, you won't be able to get a permit for such a weapon. Do you really think any city official wants one of those things on the street legally or otherwise? Also better have the weapon checked. I read that it took a nasty drop onto the roadway. It might have at least messed up the cooling vanes. As I read your scenario, aren't you guys and intelligence unit, primarily? Why would you want something like this on hand, especially when you are on the move currently?"

dunno. was kinda thinking about moutning it in the vehicle some where. oh well, im sure that i can sell it at the least. Might sell it to daisy. and the troll broke its fall. in all seriousness. i cant even use the gun. at least not now. what i really need to do is sell it before that itch to have a "talk" with mr smythe becomes too much. that would be bad.

Sell the cannon. It's more trouble than it's worth and probably hot as well. You have some ammo with it right? You can get a good price for it. Then have your rigger get a nice stealth drone. With the tracking system your rigger picked up and with a stealth drone you could have some very good tracking equipment.
As for Magicland BBS? Yep, most mages use it, the good ones anyway. You can get spells that are hideously illegal or stuff that has been raided from corp facilities. They also have references on all the different magical anima and spirits and a really nice technical library. You can even put magical requests for info out on it. Most of the Universities and Magical research centers use it, but not openly. Like the Hall of Elemental Studies in Chicago. Like Shadowland the access points float but it is rumored the HQ is in Salem, Ma. On the BBS you can also get those specialized components and foci that are very useful in the magical trade.
The BBS DOES keep track of various employers as well. Warning mages which ones stiff you , and which ones are trustworthy. If you get on that board as a poor employer Krondax, you have a real problem if you need special talent. Only the second and third rate will even talk to you, mostly those not on the BBS.
Now ratings like this depend on how much power and prestige a mage is said to have. If 'Freddy" even knows about the BBS then he can probably make some good on his threat. Enough 'bad' ratings from enough magicians and you could have problems in the magic biz and that is not a 'good' thing.
I took a look at the character sheet for Freddy, he has enough stated background to be aware of the BBS and has good sorcery and conjuring skills, an adequate lifestyle resource, and good pools. He would have a rating that would be listened to. Doesn't read like an idle threat to me.
You got to figure something like this does make sense in the Awakened World given that SR people are always raiding corps and research areas and magic has to be a BIG part of that.

Hehe, Damn I couldnt find this thread for like 4 days...I knew you guys would be talking about us some more...
As for me suggesting the "Spikes" as possible allies, mostly I am playing my Impulsive flaw...Periodically I forget that I have that, and so, when I remember that, I have him do something silly, not completely out of the realm of possibility, but something to test the leadership skills (Wheels laughs evilly). So far so good. I know that Torgo would probably ace us and TAKE his gear back...but, playing in character...

What's to feel bad about? That's for suckers. You're the man, or in this case the fine corporate piece of bulbous elf butt. You call the shots. You call the shots and you TAKE the shots and you don't apologize for any decisions you make. If you get it wrong, so what? Now that I'm done with your pity party.
My advice is to DRINK HEAVILY BEFORE the game. Then go in and really slur your meanings so that no one knows what the heck you mean. Later, if you want or need to just make that excuse you blame it on the booze. Never had to use that one myself.
My way is to just tell them, Slot off and Die!

What threats has that Freddy been putting out? He doesnt have the gumption to threaten as he knows that he would not be able to pull it off, coz he always smiles slightly when he lies.. Meg knows.... she's been married to him for seventeen years...
pass me that rolling pin

No, A tornado hit my neighborhood and did $100,000 worth of improvements. I was taking advantage of the windfall.
What about you? You've been quieter than usual lately. You must be missing Eon or you've come back from the dump with more than you took.
