Im looking for a game I have had experience in shadowrun but there are a few questions I have concerning character making: There is a generator that creates shadowrun characters. Its from this website: daegann.free.fr/programmes/programmes.phpThe problem is that it includes a bunch more abilities I.E. Adept powers, Mage Spells and probably more. Are there any other 4th edition books that add said extra stuff besides the core one?

Second..Well, I'm not into 4th edition, but I'm pretty sure ALL of the other books, short of campaing books and Arsenal, adds to the skill, magic, powers and such. Check perhaps with Crimson D: he's more into SR4 than me, and he should be able to help you more on this matter Oh yeah, As for games, there's one in 3rd edition right now. There is a shadowrun 4th editions tie soemwhere, but I lost the address.

theshadowrun2.proboards101.com/index.cgibut the sites been inactive since aug, 2007. There wasnt a high demand for 4th edition games.. you may however still find some useful information there.. I tried to make both sites similar as far as navigating the site.. I know there are some stats, new things, conversion kits and some other odds and ends I could find floating in cyberspace. the reason the link isnt at the top of this site anymore is cause I replaced it with the cinema.. im still working with it. it takes a long time to load up so im gonna have to do alot more modifications to it..

absolutely.. sign up there if youd like.. but there hasnt been activity there since aug 2007 (ie people posting) theres one campaign running here now that is third edition.. currently no 4th edition campaigns are being run.. but if someone was to start one, we could have it run here instead of the shadowrun2 website

ill check the site again... also here on the site in the "submit a character" section, we have creating guides that make building a character simple.. we also have an absolutely fantastic group of people here that can answer any kind of question you may have about anything pertaining to SR

There is a 4th edition book "Street Magic" it is the mages must for Shadowrun 4th edition the book has more skills (enchanting etc.) more + and - qualitys but none I've ever used. there are more spells, alot more on the nasty things that evil NPC's use magic for. More on Meta magic and some religion paths that a mage might have. It is a good book to get if you love being a spell slinging runner my book says it cost $34.99 I hope this helps.
If you have a game running and you need an extra mage let me know I'm game to try out one of my few hundred characters I've created.
If you don't like all the rules of 3rd edition but you want to play most of us on this site will be fine if you send us a Private Message to ask how do I do this or is this possible. So if it is only the rules of 3rd edition that has your brain in a spin, don't fret when it comes to mages I can help a bit, since it is all I ever play, and the game in 3rd edition running right now is not rule based as much as good role playing based. Like I said if you want to do something but don't know how ask me or Braddoc I know we will be ok with helping you out.
Oh enjoy the site.

Yup! if you have a character idea then write it up - the skills and stats are reasonably easy to sort out - you may find that you want a few unusual things too - these ought to be easy to do.
In the room 5 game a lot of the time you are writing rather than rolling on specific stats or skills so as long as your character concept is maintained you will not need to pore over rulebooks!
I have avoided the Matrix and also vehicles because both become complicated very quickly. There are a lot of mage runners if you want advice on spells.. cyberware is certainly available if you would like a 'Junior Angel' type cybermonster...
I might suggest to submit who and what your character is - and get some advice from the players!
If you want to just try out writing in the storyline please go ahead - create a 'thumbnail character concept' giving other players an idea of who /what you are and why not see how you like writing stuff up in the storyline..
