recently since I sent out the mass email (which I plan to do on a weekly basis to rejuvenate the site) Ive seen alot of old and a few new faces here. I recently got a PM from someone asking me why I have posts that are 2 to 4 years old here..
I did not clean out the site because it destroys the memory and ideals that helped form this website. Yes theres alot of old posts, and alot of good reading into the mindset of peoples ideas. Alot of great adventures and stories can be found throughout the site giving people the opportunity to set a foundation and let their own imagination take off. Even the posts that seem pointless will mean something to someone. I would never tell someone they HAVE to read everything on the site, but I encourage anyone with spare time to browse a few, who knows what great adventure you may invent from doing so.
A prime example would be Mr. Johnson, JJ, Xtreme and Daisy, characters created from my imagination (and ones that I ran in past adventures outside the site), posted here on the site along with their stories and brought to full life through members of the RETRO that once upon a time posted here, and brought into adventures posted by Pelch Gobwit. You can also find mention of them here and there throughout others adventures, whether their rolls in the campaign were large or small.
This is the reason why I did not wipe the old posts.. Its what helped form the foundation for this site, and it was the members both then and now that have allowed that foundation to grow and continue to flourish.
With the upcoming anniversary of this site I am hoping to start some form of a campaign, a little nervous since the last 2 or 3 times I tried to do this, some RL event took place that caused me to have to either end abruptly, or terminate the run. Ive been absent from this site for many months trying to get RL back on track, raise a new family, rasie my daughter, get a divorce, get re-married, jobs, titles, new businesses.. im ready for a break.. My biggest action to do now is to try to pump the site back up by getting some old faces here and hopefully attract some new members. I have always and continue to be open to all suggestions and ideas.
