:gets overly defensive:
I would never, ever dare take advantage of a new GM!
:runs sobbing to Xtreme, calling Milenko a meany the entire way:
Seriously? I see your point. But, personally, I can understand if a group wishes to be prepared in case of a double cross by the Johnson.

Again... there's a BIG difference between getting info to save your hoop and forgetting what you know after a run, as compared to using what you can to screw over a Johnson... Ya know... I'm 95% sorry I even posted here...

What, we can't say...."Oops my gun went off. That damn trigger, I knew I should have put more than a quarter pound of resistance to it. My bad, Can't we just get along." (j/k)

For defense of the last insane post, I will relate a true encounter....
Ms. Johnson. "Greetings. You're late, shall we get down to business?"
Grey Mouse (Me). "We're not late lady. We just came from (I forget where). "
Tankmasher (Troll/Gator Shaman). "Yeah ya dumb skirt have some resp....."
We never walked out of that mission.
All ways start out nice, then if the drek hits the fan you can be nasty.

Oh, I gotta get in on the conversation.
To me personally I imagine that if you have a Mr Johnson contact it means your on some kind of list and the owner of that list is contacted by a Corp and they find a suitable team or person for that particular need. So if a B, A, AA, or AAA need a shadow team they contact there people who contact there people etc etc until the team is contacted and a meet is set up between the Johnson and the team, or the Johnson is given the contact of the person with the Mr. J contact.
Mr Johnson could be anyone from any corporation, one time he is a proffesional negotiator from fuchi with a secret agenda. The next time his is Bob from accounting who has been siphoning funds from some A corps books and needs the team to erase John from accounting and recover the blackmail information. I would think the Pro negotiator is going to be slick and prepared even though he totally plans on screwing the shadowrunners by either underpaying them or having them iced if they fail. Bob on the other hand has never done anything like this before and is totally scared and nervous. If the PCs totally jumped Mr Johnsons (Bob) ass about being nervous he could decide he didnt want this team and cancel the deal right there. A degee of profesionalism is expected. Bob is going to report back to the man with the list that the runners were uncoth and now list guy has to put a little mark on his list about the runners. If the Runners deleted Mr Johnson (Bob) because they were stupid, Mr list holder doesnt want to lose his rep with his contacts so he is responsible for making the runners pay for there mistake, either by black balling them or by fragging the living drek out of them.
Now if the PCs were to blackmail Mr Johnson and he was a low level Corp guy like bob they might just have to deal with Bob or they might have to deal with list guy and Bob. Now if they tried to black mail Mr Fuchi there, I would imagine that Mr fuchi would consider his bottom line first. Whatever was the cheapest and most efficent way of dealing with the situation would be what he did. If the PCs just wanted an extra 10k or something he would probabaly roll with it and fork over the 10k nuyen, I mean he was screwing the runners so it is no big deal if they screwed him a little bit back. He might still report it to mister list guy, and the group would get a little black mark. Now if Mr Fuchi J decides it less expensive to clean the runners then by all means thats what he is going to do, and unfortuantly for him unless he has a good enough reason to kill the runners then I assume Mr list guy might give him a little black mark, not that the runners will care being dead and all. Get enough little black marks and mr list guy is only gonna offer your team crappy runs that no one else will take.

Yup, sounds right - runners are careful or theyre out (usually dead) - same with most other 'scrabble up the ladder' professions.
