One of the things I have been considering is running a game in the style of the show Firefly.
Now, what ideas would you have for individual runs?

Wow, Braddoc! Get thee to a video store and rent the Firefly television series. IMHO, one of the best sci-fi shows ever (and very relevant if you're into SR.)
On a similar note, I went and saw Serenity on Friday night (The movie 'continuation' of the television show). Really great. I recommend it to everyone.
Back to sabosect original point, I think Firefly is a great model for how a smuggling team might work. Just in their TV episodes they ran: a train heist, a high level robbery, an extraction, a counter-extraction, and numerous smuggling type operations. I think that's a great show to use as an inspiration.

I would have to agree with Ragallachmc about Firefly. I was hooked on the series when it premiered on Fox a few years back. Glad the series came out on Dvd along with the movie. Just got the Serenity movie for Christmas and have been good trying not to wear it out the Dvd. Shame from what I hear there is not much more of a future for it.

Bah, hit post by accident.
As for campaign ideas, I think some could be pulled loosely from the Firefly premise. However what makes the series/movie enjoyable are the characters and their interactions with one another, no so much the task at hand.
Though I do think it would be interesting to see what would happen if a group hijacks a shipment, but they find out that the shipment is medication needed for the less than fortunate and most will perish without it. The decision comes whether they sell it to the buyer for the creds or do they garner the buyers wrath by turning the shipment back over to the sick and dying.

I've had it for awhile but haven't had a chance to play it.... The rule are interesting and leave alot of room for DM discretion and role play. I can't wait to try that sucker out. if only i had more time...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has thought of doing this, I have not gotten very far on this as I would have liked

I have Firefly, Serenity. Red Dwarf, Blakes Seven, Babylon 5, Riddick, Farscape, and Battle Star Galatica all on DVD.
But I'm not going to make a RPG out of them. I'm waiting for a computer game where I can buy my own ship, like in Firefly and make my own way. Better to play than watch or copy. Meanwhile KOTOR and KOTOR II use the force, puke.
