fifteen - twenty mile to the next township. Hop into the sooveneers shop with Fryer or Hunter if you want more than oil and shells. Once weve dropped off the fresh stuff tomorrow, I'll join you in a stoogie..
I expect this bit to be quiet, close to the Zoom - looks like Hunter's catching a few Zeds as well
Hey John! leave that fourth slice, were off!
Once John's on board the engine growls into life, starting off up the wide two-lane crete strip that used to be the main Seattle route 90 East-West, now overshadowed by the zoom.
The road begins to be surrounded by stands of tall fir, quietly blotting out the zoom strip and the cloud of smog over Seattle. Mountains poke out over the tops. A little way into the journey you spot your first free bird of prey, a buzzard circling lazily off to the west.
Some flat animal up ahead at the side of the road demonstrates that traffic does pass this way Raccoon or something blackish with whiteish bits.
One point for me! - spotting roadkill, the rarer the crit- the more points you get! Sort of cruel, but helps keep your eyes open picking out something different.
After a good few more points a bullet-holed sign tells you 'Wantage welcomes careful drivers'. The seven or eight wood built house/shops nestle off the road, with a wide lay-by in front
Twenty minute leg-stretch folks. If you want anything big Fryer and Hunter can vouch for you to the 'Big ONEs - thats Orc Nation Elite - used to be a road gang term 1% - back in the old days, so I'm told
(OOC if you want to browse a little here and fill in the blanks - please feel free to ! )

Four-Eyes smiled a bit..nice little walk with a nice-lookin' lady-ork..'must be on a roll there..
"Mkay. 'Sounds good Lucille, can't wait..'mind going faster? hahaha...want some gum? Double mint, can't beat that"
Four-Eyes extended a piece of gum, which Lucille gladly took as John entered the bus. Mostly an uneventful trip, according to his point of view, he did spot a bird, took a couple of pictures, "I don't go out of Seattle often..might as well bring souvenirs."
A bump was felt, looking around all seems ok.
"Oh yeah, we got a game like that back home..except the critters are packing heat..that and they're not really critteres...."
Wantage...He should have bought a map..good thing he might just do that here. Four-Eyes exited the bus and stretched a bit, lighting a smoke while he was at it.
"Well, I'll go walk a bit..maybe find some stuff to buy that might be useful."

Getting off of the bus, he walked up to Four Eyes and tapped him on the shoulder. "This way to the gun shop, we shall see what he has in stock. " he said as he headed to the gun shop.
(ooc, wolf, did you want me to come up with a list of guns, and then do a random roll to see what he has available?_

The soovineer shop will carry a resonable line in hunting rifles - anything extra you would have to persuade the owner to 1 tell you about , and 2 sell it to you..
Maps of te area are certainly available nice glossy quad-fold ones with piccies of the sights to see, resturant names and promo details on the back. there are more detailed Ordinance Survey - contoured with peak hights and known settlements as of up to two years ago. Also available on chip sirs!
twirling racks of keyrings twinkle and becon..... rude orc statues and things to put in your fish tank, if you could afford fish
A couple of racks of rifles, scopes, cases in real leatherette, lots of knives, - no, LOTS of knives.. blades of all descriptions, handles in bone antler wood.. and a sign telling you
'hunting permits - buy them here'

John laughs when he sees the 'hunting permits' sign, and throws a thumb in its direction as he gives 4-eyes a slight nudge. "i wonder if they give permits to hunt people?"

Walking into the shop with the guys, he smirks at the comment that he overheard John make.
"Looking up at the shop owner, he nods, then asks "Did they come in yet?", refferring to the 4 cylinders he had ordered for his gun.
(OOC, im calling high, if someone wants to roll one die to see if they came in. high they did, low they didnt. )

There are differences between here and Seattle that you would notice easily - Theres more space in the large shop, it's not governed by square yard rents like those in the Malls..
The stock is glitzy and lots of hand-turned items, leather, beads, home-spun plastics abound, which would be exotic goods inthe sprawl.
Security is lax - guns under plas rather than behind security pannels - a good team of kids could strip the place real quick - but where would they go then?
Small selections of general goods - no auto-dispensers - low levels of stock.. You all get the impression that citizens out here would probably hold their own stock of goods at home, ordering ahead when supplies dwindle.
the owners could not be making a living on selling trinkets and overpriced 'baccy, or could they..? no rent to speak of, free power, food is cheap enough...

Lucille carries a cardboard box off the bus and over to one of the timber houses - the door is answered by a slight female orc, there is a brief discussion and the box is handed over.
Lucille returns to stalk into the drivers seat, face like thunder, 'pissed off bunny' written across the big black cloud currently spitting lightning bolts around her temples.

John walks up to the counter of the gun shop and asks what kind of revolvers he has with real wooden handles [ooc: a revolver is a hand gun that is of the '6 shooter' with a cylinder where you load the rounds into if ya know what i meen]

(OOC: [dice=6]..heh Zing!)
Four-Eyes let out a small laugh at John's comment "Yeah, guess out here, they do things diffrent...Guess if must be more regulated than back home hahaha."
Guns and knives, all in reach with his 5-finger discount card, almost too good to be true..but he knew what it means..the cheaper the security, the bigger the gun under the counter.
Checking around the big, yet empty sotre, he grabbed a map of the region, a survey map, a nice little orc-made bear statuettte , a little military-style compass, and a small hand axe...."Better get two, in case I loose the first one..and they got nice handles and all."
Four-Eyes paied for his stuff, and took a pad of post-card, and a nice me dium leght folding knife, with a nicely finsiehd artisantly made wood handle. He was about to leave when he heard John ask about a revolver.
"Oh, 'almost forgot about the gun oil and some ammo too."[rand=92359011639054760441961354827521484494446540546387229724047736223]

Theres a good few light and medium pistols under the plas counter top 'Barrells are in Hunter - and if your compatriot wants to try em out in the back.. I just got in a Matched pair of Ruger Supers - silk black no-reflec finish - Chestnut grips - Tooled real leather holsters - you can have your choice of belt, waist up-an-over, underarm braces - 'cept the roses up there - thats 600 on its own .... try em out if you like, if you have around a grand to spare..' The orc knows his guns and accessories - but is it tempting John ?
The 'roses' is a fine quality tooled belt with a weaving pattern of red rose blooms wrapping its way along it's length ..
another thing you all note is most of the more expensive items have no pricing tags
