In the private booth #2 Freddy prepares for the mage - the rest of the club is off limits to active magics - or at least will be once the casino gets going.. One of the reasons he stopped gambing was the bad dreck that majick gets where odds are concerned.. if your opponent thinks you can see through the cards, or could forsee the future, he is at a disadvantage.. it is trickery, something abnormal, unfair - so magic is generally barred in any casino, active, passive, or even just being a user is enough to get you thrown out! There is just too much money sloshing around, who cares who wins as long as the house gets a cut! But keeping the punters happy does count, no magik allowed, full stop.
The Beaver had elementals on patrol, who did not like other people in their territory. Soon as the Siren gets up and running there should be more, bigger, nastier. Big spirits take a lot to control and order, one order is about the norm for a big defensive spirit - so youve got to be careful with that initial information you give it.. cant be too complicated either!
Freddy's combat spells are deactivated - he could reactivate them in this private booth - unlikley the spirits need to patrol in here, but it is an interview, not an interrogation. Shades on to cover the eyes from the give-away clouding over. The guy is billed as a hermetic - difficult to pretend to be a user when theres someone to call your bluff.. so astral sight to give the guy a once-over.
Widow had his dossier information on a notepad from JJ - enough to get employers interested, enough not on file to stay cozily descreet. Freddy still found it hard to get to grips with this transparant information on file sharing thing, it rubbed the wrong way, left you kinda naked. But it was the wave of the future, his future anyway - most runners would shy away at becoming so exposed..
the knock prompted him into astral sight and magic cover for all three of them.. not that they would really need protecting with Quick and Widow both very capable.. just a precaution..
Scanning over the well dressed Mage, Freddy touched Widow's arm, confirming to her..
This is the hermetic mage Henri

(ooc. Pelch, good idea. i think if he gets pissed, ill blame it all on pelch. that works just kidding, but i am goign to let henrfi psot his reaction since i dont kjnow his character. ) (IC) Widow beings to lean back when she notices a drawer under the table. Pulling it open, she smiles as there are some Cuban Cigars in there. Thanks JJ, she thinks to herself as she pulls two out and clips the end of one, lighting it with a wooden match that was near by. "Enter" she calls out as she leans back again, cigar in mouth.

OOC: Pelch, "but we left it up to Mao! Now where the heck did he GO?"
"Hey Boombaby, do you have the Rigger 3 book? Wolflet59 is interested in creating some very low cost drones. I get the impression that creating drones is not easily done by the rules of that book and sometimes they are way too expensive. So I am looking for a 'sanity check' here. The way I read things, anything could be turned into a drone, so to speak. Even a Westwind 2000. So say we take a jet model of an F14, add a camera and rigger control, no armor. Upgrade it slightly to SR standards change the normal flight time from 5 minutes to five hours and use it. Cost about 500 NuYen. Do you think that is workable? The plane is highly maneuverable and easily handled, give it a speed of about 120 mph or 200 kph. Think it over and let me know. " "I didn't get a chance to post tonight. I'll try again maybe tomorrow. "

OOC well, there is a remote control adaption for vehicles available, and yah seems like most vehicles can be adapted to run as a drone...So, let me get this straight...he wants to take a model plane, as in a remote control plane and turn it into a camera drone by giving it rigger adaption and remote controllable (though technically it would be remote controlable already) pay for the camera and he thinks it'll come in around 500?
Nah, I'd say the sensor suite by itself, seems to come in around 5000 and thats for rating 1 sensors...the 'drone' he wants to make, in my opinion wouldnt be that effective, as it would require a rigger to be paying constant attention to it, since he is not paying for the rigger interface (which gives it a pilot skill of 1 to start). Not to mention that the camera (assuming he is buying a basic portable microcamera here) would throw off the aerodynamics of the 'model', and would not have the ability to transmit images, nor would the rigger be able to control the camera, telling it when to start and stop, since he hasnt, again, paid for the sensor suite...
I think, basically, to be realistic, you have to kind of compare it to existing drones...If all you want is a remote control plane that can take a picture okay fine, 500 nuyen and an electronics roll with an appropriate TN would be fine. But if you want to make something that is going to work like and actual Drone, with the F-14 description you provided, would cost somewhere more in the range of 6-8000 nuyen, with a minimum of 5000 for the sensor suite...500 for a drone is WAY low...

"Enter" Henri hears from in the room. As he cautiously enters the room, he isn't too surprised to see the human and the male elf that the female had entered the Beaver with. Despite his male ego having different hopes, it was Henri's experience that women didn't just walk up to a random man and invite them into a private room on the first floor of a strip bar. The only exceptions to this being sim-porn flicks, James Bond trid movies and the tall tales of CATCo grunts after a weekend's leave. Once he feels the hairs stand up on the back of his neck as he passes through the room's wards, Henri allows his senses to extend to the astral and assenses the room's occupants. Assensing: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Aura Reading: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] Henri sees that the two elves are chromed. Though the female more heavily than the male, who surprisingly shows some shamanic talent as well. The third occupant of the room appears to be on a par with Henri in terms of magical power. Although he really couldn't blame them for taking the precaution, Henri is not thrilled with the fact that the magical playing field had been levelled and he was outgunned. From the way the female elf is sat and the large cigar she is smoking he guesses he isn't about to have every CATCo grunt's weekend fantasy fulfilled, so instead he looks at her and says politely "Since you're the only female elf here, I'll take a guess that you're the Black Widow that JJ mentioned downstairs." Turning his head slightly to Quick, he continues "She only mentioned one shaman though, but since you're chromed I'd say you were one of the group's samurai she mentioned." Nodding at Freddy, he finishes "Which, if I'm right and JJ didn't forget to mention any members of the group, would make you the Snake shaman." More from common courtesy than any real need to, Henri adds "I'm Henri". Gesturing to a fourth chair opposite the trio, he asks "May I?" OOC: Who says she'll slam the door in my face, Influence is a great spell dontcha know [rand=99382277762519267875587728625209337690114960654265852979539210825]

As Henri enters Quick answers "Please do." gesturing towards the chair. Then turns closes the door behind Henri and locks it. Smiling towards Widow he stands in front of the door as if barring the way out. "He is all yours now."

OOC: Pelch, "Time to answer a few questions and look at the overview. All of you are showing a much improved posting in the story. Now is the time to add to what you have accomplished. We are not standing still here.
Let's start with the Widow, Quick, Freddy and Henri thread. I think that thread is going very well. I especially enjoyed the interplay between Henri and Widow. I would like to see more interplay between all the characters especially when they discuss or say something to each other. Acknowledge what was said and RESPOND. (That means of course, that you should read everyones thread who is in your AREA. You see Mao does not have to follow anyones thread except his own right now because he is all alone and will play more convincingly if he doesn't have a clue to what your doing!) Freddy did some excellent background work bringing Henri up to date on the Siren, but neither he or Henri should be shy in making IMPROVEMENTS. What I mean by that is be prepared to write new magical protections into the club. Freddy especially should look into this because he has more background history with it and could increase the protections based on what he has seen before. This does not eliminate anyone else from doing this, either. Widow and Quick would have seen more of the physical changes in the club.
For instance: We know that physical pop up barriers were installed to stop vehicles from ramming through the walls. Load bearing members were improved and blast channels installed. Now the mages would be seeing a powerful ward and spirits on patrol, they might even see the walls enhanced with physical barriers by now. The building is now physically twice it's size and many stories higher. A heliport would be on the roof but what of protections there? Pop up turrets? Likely. None of you should be afraid to describe improvements each time you come in. Failing that why not re-describe the changed surroundings? New lighting, gambling machines, walls, floor, decorations? The addition of a larger kitchen, dining facilities, etc. It would be also possible that there will be new staff members and in the SERVICE jobs they are not going to be trolls. Lots to write about folks so use your imagination. Think about what you would have in your place if you had YOTS OF YEN! get creative and descriptive. You see we are building the world and we ALL contribute a little at a time and it becomes part of the HISTORY that will go forward.
Now as for Mao, I was joking, mostly. Pelch thought your meeting would be arranged at the Lantern. I was just setting a stage for my post. The thing I want you to remember, is that OUR job is to find out as MUCH about Tony as possible. You have gotten closer to Tony than any of us. You have warped the storyline enough with your recent posts that you can actually talk to him one on one and face to face. This is a big gain! Don't blow the opportunity this presents. You have interrogation skill, but you don't have to intimidate to USE it. Find out all you can! You may wrap up this whole caper single handed and get us paid. You don't have to capture or kill Tony, all you have to do is find out as much as you can about him. Good Luck!
Wheels/Boombaby, Thanks for the input. The F14 I looked at was a model but jet propelled. I assumed over 60 years would have shown a lot of improvement in models since they make Jet propelled ones now. I had a thought. Why not design several (4 or 5) very basic models of drones using models, for specialized purposes, one using tasers for protection of sites, one surveillance, etc. Freddy can pay you for them through Ace Tomato and his paycheck there. This way he gets drones and you get NuYen. Heck you might even set up a small place where people produce them for you? This could have the affect of increasing your lifestyle too. Try to stay UNDER 1,000 NuYen each and place them in a special thread in the Room 6 area. I see no reason why you can't be creative as well and establish some things that will bring you some fame. The interesting thing is with some low cost drones we could have a market for them. They don't have to be armored up the kazoo at all, just fulfill a basic need. One shot drones, could be very useful for not only us but other runners. Another thought, remember Machete in the Movie Spy Kids? If we are going to be an intelligence team, we are going to need our Q. or Machete. We need some SR spy gadgets, not firepower! Think about it. Now what are you going to do with that guard? (Just to give you a clue; anything that is written or that you write yourself into, you can write yourself OUT off. All you have to do is pick up where the story left off and keep it in a logical progression.)
For Instance; The story left off here: "The guard slowly crouched down and started to slowly place his gun on the ground. "You don't really want to shoot me now do you?""
Wheels smiled. He knew that there was NO helicopter behind him. The sirens was an fragging ambulance off in the distance and the guard was desperately trying to get him to look away. The guard acted like he was going to put his gun on the ground but he was really moving slowly to see if Wheels would be taken in. (You could make a roll if you want to prove you weren't but if you are sure and act it you don't HAVE to. Wheels pulled the trigger blowing the guards head clean off. eject ed the round and turned and climbed back on his vehicle and took off. There was nothing in sight as he rose into the air, no camera, no Citymasters with FRT's and no fragging Northrup. He hated liars!"
Catch my drift? Not saying you should do it EXACTLY this way, mind you, but we are creating characters, attitudes, and history. Unless you want to be in that pickle, you can easily write yourself out of it almost at any time. Just don't be Superman. Remember the only constraint I have told people in this particular piece is that TONY is controlled and under constraints by Mr. Johnson. Mao has to wait to deal with him and CAN'T write himself out, harm capture or kill Tony without specific go ahead. However, extraneous problems like Spiked Wheels, Lone Star, etc that is not an original part of the story give you complete latitude. I hope that helps everyone. You see you all have a BIG BOX to play in."
As for Pelch, time to post for him tonight."

OOC: Pelch, "....Clueless in Seattle."
Pelch looked around outside and saw no signs of Wheels in the air. He smiled inside his beard as he followed Jack the Ripper down to the Jackals Lantern. His smile turned to confusion though when he walked in and saw no sign of his partner. Now where was that IDIOT? Ripper caught the hesitation and shook his head sadly. "Don't tell me that the guy who was going to pay for the drinks is not here and that your going to go find him, but that I should go ahead and order for all three of us."
Pelch shrugged helplessly, "It's not my fault." He whined as he frantically looked around the bar. "Hey Pia," as he spotted the waitress, "have you seen the idiot with the hat? He was in here a while ago with a troll and I noticed his van is still out front?"
Pia nodded with a smile, "Your friend with the hat picked a fight with everyone in the bar."
"That stupid, muscle-headed, moron!" Exclaimed Pelch as he danced around in fury. "I'll kill his stupid hoop as soon as he pays off the bet. Where did you guys put the body?"
Pia 's smile got bigger as she watched the furious dwarf, "Oh, he's not dead. Not yet anyway. Talon Ice, the bartender, almost blew him away and he calmed down real well. Then he shipped them off to see Slash and the gang with his troll buddy. He was still walking last time I saw him."
Pelch stopped and stared, "You mean he is in a meeting with Slash right NOW?"
Pia nodded, "I know, you want to go there but you CAN'T. Slash is talking to your friend and you will have wait to see if he comes back in one piece. So you might just as well take a seat with the Ripper, get some food and drink and wait."
Pelch grumbled as he sat down with Jack. They ordered some food and drink and Pelch grumbling paid for it. "Well there goes that plan."
Ripper smiled showing pearly white canines much like a vampire. "I take it you had some Grand Master Plan going and it turned to drek as usual?"
Pelch nodded, "We were suppose to have a meeting here with Slash here and I was going to follow Red to some slag named Tony."
Ripper looked amused, "Antonio Rhontlesat?"
Pelch looked startled, "You KNOW him?"
Ripper looked at the dwarf, "Of course. When someone new comes in and he seems like a player in the gang, I always check them out. There wasn't much on him though. He works for Nestle's as a trouble shooter, usually doing the Blackest of the Black Ops work. The guy is a mutant. His Father was into gene research and cloning. His mutation is that he is magically powerful and is able to change shapes. How well he does that is only hinted at, but he is the real thing."
Pelch looked confused, "So why is he here and messing around with the wieners?"
"Easy enough," Ripper stated as he drank some apricot brandy, "Word on the streets says Haseltorn is doing some sub contracting for KD&A against Nestle's so it's obvious he was sent here for that reason. What is NOT so well known is that Tony has some kind of gripe against Dom. I've discovered no reason for this antagonistic attitude."
Pelch considered as he wondered how much Ripper would tell him before he got out a credstick and had to pay and the price would not be cheap!

It would be nice to know a little background Henri - recent work, what value you would place on your expertise, specialities...
As you have heard Widow, the guy knows his stuff - demonstrating his talents at the interview, confident.
cuts to the chase, may need reining in as we are recon rather than assault, ....overconfident perhaps? Thats my immediate assessment, hope it helps...

Wheels watches as the guard leans forward and places the pistol on the roof. Just as the guard releases the handle and begins to straighten up, Bobby takes two quick steps forward and reverses the gun. SMACK!!
The poor guard had hardly looked down, so as not to accidently set off the gun as he placed it down...but now all he was going to see was stars and darkness. "Actually Chummer, I was startin to warm up to it." Bobby leans down and checks the guard for a pulse, before removing the man's restraints and cuffing him right hand to left foot, behind his back. Patting him down, he also removes the radio and keys to the self same restraints, tossing both towards the other side of the roof, a good 25 feet away behind another piece of HVAC equipment. Looking wistfully at the gun, Bobby thinks better of it and dumps it into the rain drain nearby.
Moving to the maglocked door, Bobby collects his tools and packages them back up into his kit bag. Looking around, Bobby did confirm that there was no camera's on this roof. It had been part of the reason he'd selected it. That and it had an excellent view of Denny Park.
DREK!! The Park!!! Bobby hustled back to his own Wasp and climbed in, flipping switches to both start the machine and to review the past several minutes worth of tape. Seeing Mao escorted out by several Halloweener's and disappearing further into Denny Park, makes Bobby start to swear in earnest. As he is going thru his preflight, he sees Pelch reappear from his hole with a strangely dressed companion and the pair make their way to the Jack-o-Lantern. He notices Pelch glancing at the sky, and Bobby snarls to himself. Fraggin idiot. You're supposed to be doing a FRAGGIN job here. DREKHEAD!! Just like a stupid slitch fresh on the streets. FRAG!!!
Bobby slams his palm on the top of the console in anger, then climbs out of his cockpit once more to disengage the drone from the cargo space. Moving the roto-drone out of the radius of the swirling blades, Bobby activates it and queues it to his subscriber list before glancing around once more. He double checks that the guard is well out of harms way, then climbs back into the Wasp, launching both vehicles into the air...I need to find the kid. Not going to be much use to him as backup, otherwise....
