Secondly...where is the link to the shop? Nevermind...Braddoc helped me fixed it.
I can start re-equipping my guy now. Who can refit a truck if I buy a new one so that this time around it doesn't get blown sky high?

OOC: Odd..what internet browser do you use?.
As for the link ot the shop, just click on your name in the mini-porfile (NOT your char's name, your member's name) and there should be a"Shop" link right next to the bookmark link atop your information page.

OOC: Pelch, "I see that Mao is busy and Braddoc is right on top of things as usual. I gave out the Karma awards tonight but let's give Braddoc some time. I am in no hurry and you guys working strategy and resupply should be in no rush either. We are going at a pace all of us can handle. It's summer, enjoy it a bit."
"Mao if you want Mods for a vehicle or wish to purchase a new vehicle it will be part of this thread. (If you can keep the vehicle intact you will have it added at the end of the thread when we post gains and losses.) You can acquire and mod vehicles in several ways. Buy the vehicle in game and deal with either a contact, NPC, or even another player and get them to mod it in advance or BUY it with the mods on it. You can even STEAL a vehicle and then pay to get it mod'ed or even hire a guy to steal one." How much imagination do you have? Let's do some work on that tonight since we are footloose and fancy free."Mao walked up the street with Pelch enjoying the fact that they were no longer in cells. "I'm going to need a new vehicle, and one that won't get blown up." Mao said to the dwarf. Pelch smiled, "How much you willing to pay? Do I get a commission?" Mao stopped and looked at the dwarf suspiciously. "You have something in mind?""Let's say I have this 'friend'." Pelch said with a sly grin. Mao looked disgusted. "Not Corndork. I get a headache every time I even remember the sound of her voice.""I thought you two were going to become an item." Pelch said looking serious, "I guess it's for the best though. You should never get mixed up with a woman crazier than you are. We can get a stolen vehicle from Corndork. It will be from a chop shop and will be clean enough for use in the sprawl, but if you want mods we need to take it to Fungidiot. He usually needs the Nuyen but he's a dwarf and good at mods and fixes. He's also a scrounger and good at getting parts. If you don't want to deal direct with Corndork, we can pay Fungidiot to buy a vehicle from her and then take it and mod it. What are you interested in?" "I was thinking of a truck of some kind, but if the price is right, I'll look at anything." Mao said with a serious expression. Pelch nodded, "What about papers with it. You going to want some good forgeries? Registration, insurance, and bill of sale or you just want the vehicle itself? If you get stopped those things are useful but it's going to raise the cost. You want rigger control or heads up display? You want a sec package as well. I know Fungidiot can give you a level four sec. package that goes from stun to lethal but it will cost. How much NuYen you got to spend here?"Mao looked wary, "If you're pulling a 'rope-a-dope' for the rube then you better be ready to run. I'm not about to get ripped by you and your buddies."Pelch tried to look hurt, "Hey! You're my partner! How can you think like that. Look, I know you git your pay and mine. Thats 34,000 NuYen. If you get expenses for your van that's what?""About 45,000." Mao stated, "If I get expenses and the whole amount back.""Fine, then not counting what you already have, that's 79,000 NuYen." Pelch said rubbing his hands. "Now if you go legal on everything to someone else that cred is not going to go far. You go to my friends though and it could go a long way. I remember Corndork saying she had a Mazda/La Rioja 'Ventura' Pickup Truck. The cost would be about 30,000 NuYen base for the truck. It has a heavy chassis, hvy suspension, a Thundercat Power Plant and six puncture resistant tires! Top speed loaded down is 90 mph and unloaded 175 mph and can hold 735 lbs of cargo. It's armored, on the right, left, front, back, top and under carriage. It has room for a smokescreen in back and a Vulcan minigun in a hidden popup turret with ammo. We would have to buy the gun, ammo, and Smoke screen separate and get them installed. That will cost extra. Then if you want papers and Security it will cost more. You interested?""A stolen vehicle?" Mao asked doubtfully. "That's all I need to get caught with a stolen vehicle that was used in some heist or something."Pelch nodded, "There is that risk, but where else are you going to get a sweet vehicle? The kind YOU WANT, on limited credit? With some dickering, Corndork will sell that vehicle for 30,000 and that's less than your last paycheck! That gives you a lot left for the mods. You don't have to put in a minigun or ammo or smokescreen. You can, the hookups and space is there which is a real cost saver, but you can put other things in those areas or just leave it out. It's already armored. That's a big plus. IT's heavy and built to take a lot of punishment. It has a first class engine. No matter what you get, any vehicle is going to have drawbacks. Now maybe you can get a better deal somewhere else. Then fine. Go ahead. No one is forcing you here."

Mao moved his hat back alittle and scratched his chin. He hadn't shaved for awhile considering all the trouble they have been in. More than likely they had to get things moving again quickly since this "Tony" character sure wouldn't be waiting around for them to be ready...
"It sounds like a plan. You're the survival expert thus know how to make do with the resources one has etc. I'll get JJ to forward the amount it'll take so you can get the truck ready. 50 thou should be enough from the sounds of it?"
For the rest of the way they continued to talk about what exactly the ride would need. Mao needed to get a shotgun after his last one blew up with the rest of the truck...
"I'm going to need to make a stop to pickup up a modded shotgun as well. You know of any place for that? You need to probably get refit...and since I have your share of the money...least I can do to help you out to get re-equiped..."

OOC: Pelch, "Boombaby, You have an additional 110,000 Nuyen as part of your expenses due to 'cost of replacement' for your losses. This amount was NOT included in the amount's on your character sheet. You may use this amount IC to help you offset the amounts to replace your lost items. JJ has given you that extra amount in UniOil corporate script as you are leaving.""Mao, two considerations, how do you intend to contact JJ to get the Nuyen to you or Pelch? Forward it, where? You need to show me HOW you are doing this. You also say you are talking about the ride you want, that's very nice but I do NEED to know what the 'details' are. Otherwise, I am going to give you potluck. Details my friend. When you are doing something for the first time I have to know how you do it. Then if you do it again later at least I have a history on how you go about it. Now I know how Pelch would go about it, but I assume you want to retain some control. Same for mods and purchases. Be more detailed on what you want. Now I spelled out a basic truck. It really is a good deal. Say you get the truck for 30,000, Do you want a mini-gun, ammo and the smokescreen installed? Do you want rigger or heads up controls? Do you want the sec package at level four? Do you want papers that will pass most cursory inspections or do you want better papers that allow you to drive out of sprawl? Maybe you want a new paint job, (just to be cautious). Maybe you want a front grill or towing rig with winch? Maybe you want a cab over the truck rear? Think about this; the hardware will cost, the work will cost, the people involved are going to make a profit. It will take time to get everything in operation. The clock is ticking. Depending how much you want done, I am going to tack a 10% profit on each item. I already did with the basic truck package. Now if Pelch does all this for you what profit of this whole mess will he take? He will look at your total cost and will tack 7% on it, after all you are a chummer but biz is biz! He won't NEED charity. " Pelch looked at Mao in disgust and growled, "I made a bet. I'm a grown man, not a bum that needs charity. Now I'm willing to help you out and I'll take my cut for steering you around and helping you out. That's just normal biz in the sprawl. Don't insult me again, junior or I'll make you EAT that fragging hat."Mao was surprised, "I didn't mean to be insulting. Maybe I just feel a little guilty taking your 'hard earned' is all. I appreciate you helping me out. You have some good contacts and they can make things easier for me. You know I like the sound of that truck. What do you think I should do?"Pelch scratched his beard, {Watching someone else scratching is contagious.} "First we go report to Widow and collect our money. There's only one problem with that."Mao looked at Pelch with curiosity, "And that is?"" Where in the frag are they? They MIGHT be at the lair. They might be a Dom's. They might have gone to see Slash? The Star might be holding them at a different precinct? I still have no way to contact them and so I have to run their hoops down on the shoe leather express." Pelch groused. Mao nodded, "I been spoiled I guess. I left my shotgun and my phone in the van before I went in to start that fight in Lantern. They got blown up with the van. I'm in the same boat your in. So where are we going?"Pelch, "The Lair. It's the closest thing to us. At least we can get cleaned up and get a decent meal while we are waiting for them to find us! I figure that Wheels is smart enough that sooner or later he'll start looking for us and maybe he planted a bug on you when he was over watching you for the weenies. Why should we trudge around town, wearing out shoe leather when it will be much easier for them to locate us?"Mao nodded, "I could do with a bath and some rest. Makes sense to me. Besides we have a lot to discuss, like our next bet for your paycheck." They continued to walk towards the lair. OOC: Pelch, "Now how is that for throwing a typical Pelch monkey wrench into the works?"

OOC: Pelch, "It gives me a warm feeling that everyone is taking a little holiday from posting. I'm not being sarcastic here. Everyone needs a little break and time away so that you can come back refreshed and ready to continue. Summer is a good time for this. So have a bit of the tipple and I will keep things going on a bit. Enjoy life, it's too precious to just waste it."
Widow had waited patiently as the others collected their money and left to perform their various errands. It was obvious they would not have many questions until they received the next briefing. She waited for another hour but neither Mao or Pelch had arrived to collect their share. She contacted JJ. "Have Mao and Pelch been released yet?" She asked the contact.
JJ seemed surprised by the request, "They were released two hours ago and left the station on foot. They were last seen heading for Westlake Mall. Is there a problem?"
Widow smiled, "Probably not, but considering someone went to the trouble to try to eliminate several of our group I'm concerned that it IS taking them two hours to collect their money. Now I might believe Mao would be unconcerned about immediately getting his share, but I can't see Pelch being that patient, can you?"
JJ nodded thoughtfully, "I see your point. I haven't heard of any more incidents but I'll check around." She signed off.
Widow got up and started to walk out the door. As she made her way past a row of new electronic slot machines she felt a tap on her shoulder. It was a polite tap so she didn't react by giving the invader of her space a tonfa dental adjustment. She turned politely and looked at a young girl. The girl was short but human, about 5' 3" long sandy colored hair and blue eyes. She was thin but well rounded. Her skin was tanned. She appeared about 17 or 18 years old. "Yes?" Widow asked politely. She knew that in Dom's place if this person was hostile she would be well covered. There was no need for impoliteness here.
The girl spoke in quiet, shy voice, "My name is Bunny. Beatrice Bunny. Most people call me BB. Mr Smythe sent me because he said you were hiring a decker? He told me not to mention his name to you, but I thought it would be better if I did. Before you say 'No' or anything like that I want you to know that I am kind of new at Shadow Running but I do have some qualifications. Are you interested?"
Widow was about to say, 'No'. She didn't want Smythe to have any more holds on her. She reconsidered for a moment. What difference did it make right now anyway? Smythe had the team pretty much under his thumb as far as she could see and until she could do something about it, she might as well play along. The girl had told her about Smythe, that should count for something. "I'm interested but you seem a little young and inexperienced. Can you give me some background?"
BB nodded looking serious, "I've always been shy. I used to work for KD&A but that Krass was always making passes at me. I was real uncomfortable there. So I quit. My job while there was to design ice code and ice breakers. My deck is a KD&A, 'Pirate' C-5 cyber head array with inbuilt communications and I've modified it so that it has a Level 4 response increase. I can deck in from anywhere. I have a background in decking, matrix programming, interface programming, computer and electronic skills, as well as implant programming. I also have some skills with Biotech such as Transimplant Surgery, headware, bodyware and Oraganic replacements. I can do organ cultures, first aid and replacement construction of Cyber limbs with extended Care if required."
Widow was impressed, there had to be a draw back. "How is your shooting?"
"Shooting?" BB stated looking horrified, "I don't have a gun. I don't want to shoot anyone. Do I have to shoot anyone?"
"Hopefully not," stated Widow with a slight smile. "We are not big on shooting people in this group. We tend to perform mostly intelligence or research work, but there are times we do have to defend ourselves." {More so recently than we really want!} thought Widow to herself. She didn't want to scare the girl off though. She needed someone with good medical skills and she really needed a decker. Her team was flailing around half blind because they couldn't plug into the Matrix. "I'll tell you what," stated Widow with a friendly smile. "Why don't we hire you for the next run we have. If it doesn't work out you can leave at the end of it. That will give you time to meet the team and we can see how you will fit in."
"Really?" Stated the girl smiling brightly. "That would be great! I really needed the job."
"Be here in the conference room I just left at 09:00 tomorrow when we get briefed. I'll introduce you to the rest of the team and we can get you situated. Welcome to the Team BB." Stated Widow wondering if she had ever been THAT young and naive.
BB nodded and with a skipping motion she went into an elevator and waved as the door closed. Widow used the headset Freddy had supplied them with, "Quick?"
"Yeah?"
"See if you can locate Wheels. We have a Decker. A young girl called BB, used to work for KD&A designing icebreakers for Krass. She'll need access to the lair with special access to our data access points and medical equipment. I want her and Wheels to partner for a while so he can see how she does. She's totally street naive and I would rather not have her out there by herself and we have enough to do in the lair. That means I want you to pair with Henri on this next run. After you get Wheels alerted I have another job for you. Pelch and Mao are gone missing, again. Find them."
"OK." Quick signed off. Quick thought to himself, {She sure don't want much.} Luckily he had Wheels private phone number. He dialed it. "Wheels."
"I'm looking for bargains. I'm trying to replace my losses on this last run. What the frag do you WANT now?" Wheels stated with some heat.
"Boss spider found us a decker used to work for Krass. She wants you to partner with her on the next run and get her access to the lair." Quick stated grimly.
"I'm not even sure I want to BE with you on the next run, you fragger!" Wheels angrily, stated quickly. "I spent more time getting my bell rung and picking up pieces from bombs than I needed."
"Don't be like that. Not every run turns out clean and pretty. Besides this run is a piece of cake. The new decker isn't street smart so you're going to have a nice cushy job in HQ with a slit for company. Probably one that puts out like crazy if she worked for Krass and you know he don't mess around with bow wows." Quick stated, dangling the bait.
"YOU LYING SLOT! You told me the LAST run was a simple tail job! Install a tracker you said and sit back and watch where it goes. I lost my car to the Spiked Wheels and my chopper WITH Drone and TOOLS and SHOTGUN to some guy with a serious mean on for bombs! I should believe you now? I'd have to be out of my fragging mind, what the bombs left of it!"
"That was a fluke and you know it. Trust me on this one, this next run could earn us a cool mil in bonus pay from the Mayor himself and that's not counting what we draw going in. Think of the tech toys you can buy with that? You can't be that unlucky twice in a row can you? Stop grousing. While you're thinking about it, get your hoop down to the lair and get the access ready for new slit. Since you'll be there anyway, check the tracker on Pelch and find out where he's gotten to now. Widow says Mao and he are missing. Let me know when you find them. Quick out." Quick hung up and smiled. Sometimes it was just a matter of passing the drek down hill.
"Why is it when someone says Trust ME, it means SLOT YOU!" Wheels yelled into the dead phone. He shook it angrily.

OOC: Pelch, "I am unsure at this point what goal the mages have. Until they can give me enough clues, I'll wait for them. If the story starts to get too far past them I may have to take a hand. Until Mao and Pelch are discovered by Wheels I can wait with them. They are on hold until they get some money and Mao comes back with some answers. BB won't be too heavily involved until we go through the briefing and get her situated. Widow like the mages has signaled very little of her intent, so outside of performing the necessary duties she is on hold. As is Quick. That means most actions are pending on Wheels as the lynch-pin. So let's deal with Wheels tonight since he has some outstanding issues and it will allow me to move forward."
Wheels was grumbling as he walked into the Ace Tomato Company and went through the secret elevator and down to the lair. Inside he was not surprised to find that Pelch and Mao were both sound asleep. Their clothes had been freshly cleaned and it was obvious that both had had a snack and taken a bath. He decided not to disturb them. Actually he felt like he could use a little rest himself. Wheels had gotten no time for any rest in the past 48 hours and the booze he had drank earlier was not helping. He got the pass cards ready for the new decker and then sent off an email to Quick telling him where Pelch and Mao were. Then getting a shower and a quick meal he thankfully climbed into bed leaving his clothes in the washer/dryer. He slept for 4 hours and was awoken when his phone went off again!
Pelch and Mao fully dressed, shaved and relaxed were eating some kind of meatloaf. Wheels answered the phone in his friendliest and most courteous voice, "Frag Off and Die!"
"Excuse me?" JJ asked confused. "Wheels?"
"OOPS, Sorry, I thought you were Quick." Wheels stated with some embarrassment. "Yeah, this is Wheels. What's up?"
He could almost hear the amusement as JJ responded, "I understand. I think I have a Company Car for you and wanted to check with you before I get it."
Wheels was interested, "Sure, what kind of vehicle are we talking about?"
"A KD&A "Storm-hawk" Van, it has a 300 "Hurricane" supercharged engine and a dueling fuel tank armored. It has six run flat tires. It has a composite heat resistant sloped front plate armor and standard armor on back sides, top and bottom. The armor includes wheel guards for the tires. It has a level two security system, one stun 2 lethal. It has a top mounted pop up turret holding four radar guided missiles. It's got a rigger interface. Top speed is 137.5 mph but it's acceleration is very good. If the supercharger is on it goes from zero to top speed in six minutes. Word is it handles like a 'pig' according to my contacts but it is pretty solid and has plenty of cargo space. The chassis and suspension are standard."
Wheels thought about it, "The armor and speed are good but the chassis and suspension are a dog. Typical KD&A drek. If I try to take a corner at the speeds it can put out I'm toast. Sure it's great for straightaway driving or even ramming with that sloped composite armor but how much of that will I do on city streets? Reloads will be the pits too. You don't find RADAR guided missiles on any street corner. Rigger controls are OK. Is there anything else available?"
"Not yet, I'm still looking."
"If you can't find anything better the 'Storm-hawk' will have to do. Give it another 24 hours and if you don't find anything else that I like better go ahead and get it. We don't have a lot of time here and we need something. What's the price tag on that monster?"
"Off the rack? After I negotiated it down they want 73,000 NuYen firm, for it. Don't worry, you won't have to pay for it." JJ said with a smile.
"Pay? No, modify that dog, Yes. That could get pricey and will take some time. I'd rather we can get a ride I don't have to put in a shop and remake."
"Wait a second, how about a camper?"
"You mean one of those house trailers on wheels that old folks like to use after they retire?"
"Yes, the ones that are all one piece like a tour bus. Those things are expensive but there are always bargains and they could be modified. I have here a KD&A 'Survivor'"
"What's with the KD&A stuff lately?"
"I get good discounts when we stay in the corporate house." JJ confessed.
"Well as long as your not bedding Krass I guess that's all right."
There was a long pause and then JJ's voice returned all business.
"The 'Survivor' could be what you want as a team vehicle. It has an extra heavy chassis and suspension, a 'Waterloo' Super power plant, six puncture resistant tires, Top speed is 90 MPH. With a supercharger add on you could get more speed and better acceleration, from zero to 115 in 7 minutes. It has heavy standard armor all around. It also has a pop up Vulcan mini-gun turret with 1,000 rounds of ammo installed. I have to go now, you think about it and I'll keep looking." JJ hung up abruptly.
Wheels wondered momentarily about the sudden departure but went back to business quickly. If he had to make a choice which vehicle would he take?

Mao overheard a bit of the conversation and started to follow up on the earlier conversation with Pelch.
"I like the specs you told me about earlier but the additions might cause some unless we just buy the parts and have wheels here put it in. I'm thinking of a van which is armoured and carry us in it and not get blown up. I'm thinking of decent speed with some sensory apparatus and able to defend itself somewhat."
Pelch didnt' even look up nor stop eating. "We pretty much went over all that already. What kind of quality are you looking at?"
Mao leaned back in his chair and tipped his hat back. "I know used parts are cheaper than new...as long as they are reliable...it is fine by me. Key thing is when can we get it to wheels with the parts?"

OOC: Sorry for the delay Pelch, been rummaging through the source books trying to find some stuff. Here's hopin' I don't make an ass of it After leaving the Siren/Beaver, Henri heads for the nearest public data-terminal and spends some time poring over a street map of the city. By the time he finished, Henri has committed to memory a surveillance detection route which would, eventually, take him to one of downtown’s bus stations. The route takes him through a park, shopping mall and then a grave yard, as well as down several streets which, according to the data-terminal, should be fairly quiet this time of day. The theory behind this being, that anyone attempting to follow Henri would have to close the distance between themselves and their target to avoid losing him to one of the many exits that the park and mall have to offer. The final layer to this precaution was that anyone attempting to stay un-noticed would have a hard time doing so in the relative quiet of the grave yard. As he makes his way to the bus station, Henri couples this route with several peeks into astral space and the occasional rapid change of pace. Perception: [dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6][dice=6] (OOC: Bah, guess he should have spent more time looking at the map ) Once he arrives at the bus station, Henri hops a bus as far south as possible. At the Tacoma/Puyallup border he finishes the rest of his journey on foot, finally ending up at Crime Mall. He enters the mall knowing fine well that his presence has already been noted and reported by the sentries, who hadn’t even bothered to conceal themselves. On the first floor of the mall, Henri finds Loxosceles’ ‘shop’ and hopes the talismonger inside lives up to their reputation. The front window was long gone, so Henri assumes that the current occupier has either installed their own security measures, or got the original ones working. He enters the shop and feels the familiar tingle on the back of his neck as he passes through the shop’s wards. Behind the counter is sat a male ork and Henri can’t help wondering if his teeth had been altered to deliver venom, much like the totem he supposedly followed. The ork looks up at Henri with barely focused eyes, “Help you?” he asks as his eyes come into focus. “No, just looking” Henri replies, more to see how the ork would react than anything else. The ork doesn’t react kindly; he scurries down the length of the shop and intercepts Henri as he’s pulling various items from the shelf. “And who the frag is jus’ lookin’?” the ork asks. “You’ve never been here before, how do I know you aint Dips?” he adds while prodding Henri in the chest. “Because”, Henri refrains from adding ‘you paranoid fragger’ “If I was Dips, I wouldn’t come in here pretendin’ to wanna to buy stuff”. Gesturing around the shop irritably, he continues “I’ll bet everythin’ in here is either stolen or smuggled. If I was Dips, me and my chummers would kick the door in while our elementals take on your spirits, cuff & mask you, then bag an’ tag every damn thing in here”.Henri then tries to appeal to Loxosceles’ sense of greed in order to prevent the situation degenerating. “This how you treat all your new customers? If so good luck keepin’ up the payments on this place. Now can I spend my NuYen here? Or do I find somewhere else?”[rand=14015571453934045655985208326322452077226147660558672255367206729]

OOC: Pelch, "Well Krondax, BB is under my control. I think I can tolerate a good bit of humor, sarcasm or satire. By the way Pelch is in the Lair and you are three blocks away at the Siren's Song, so if you hit Pelch in the underground there from the first floor of the club, it would truly be a remarkable occurrence." "Sometimes I despair that you guys will ever completely read the moves. Right Mao and Krondax? I'll deal with Mao later. Right now I want to get to Henri." Herman Loxosceles the orc looked at Henri steadily for a moment. "If you are DIPS you WOULD be coming in here and trying to buy something hideously illegal. You would also protest and act all insulted about my simple question. Not that I'm worried about DIPS just walking in. They'd get a lot more than they bargained for. You don't think I don't operate here without some protection do you? If you thought that, you thought wrong. Dead Wrong."
"Now answer me this. Am I supposed to be so blinded by your big spending NuYen and you flashing a wad of cash that I ignore the fact that you might be a narc, plant or squeal? Why is it every guy walks in here the first time, with NO bonafides, NO warning, NO credentials, demands all kinds of the first class service? You guys don't do your biz that way. You demand all kinds of explanations and assurances and want the other guy to expose his arse but you squeal like piglets when you have to do the same. Now I like new business the same as anyone else. Especially paying business but I am not going to jeopardize my life and business by trusting some slotter straight off the street that ain't got sense enough, or the street smarts to protect himself. If you protect yourself then you protect your client! That client might be you, so if you have to do a little extra to put my mind at rest, then I have to do a little extra to put your mind at rest too.""You have two choices here, chummer. You can put my mind at ease, by telling me who put you on to me and they better not be connected with someone I know is trying to shaft me, OR you can walk you and your NuYen out the door and find some other pigeon. I don't need the fragging aggravation."Henri considered for a minute. "Let's name a couple of names then. Not that I am saying they are involved but they are chummers of mine and can vouch for me. Dom Haseltorn, Ferdilance Frederick, Quicksilver, Pelch Gobwit. Are you familiar with any of them?" The orc looked thoughtful, "Haseltorn and Quicksilver I know about. Done some business with both of them. Don't know no Frederick or Gobwit. Stay here a minute while I make a couple of calls. The orc went to a hush phone spoke a few moments. When he returned he appeared to be satisfied. "The word I got is you ain't no DIPS or Star. Now just what is it you want?"

Wheels overheard Mao talking with Pelch and jumped into the conversation angrily, "You want all this, when? Listen Hatboy, I don't have time enough to replace my own equipment lost on the last run. Let alone modify what I lost and you want me to drop everything to work on modifying and fixing up your fragging van? Your paying me how much? I don't work for free! You want me to work on a van you ain't got yet, that no one has seen, and you have no idea if it is even what you want or know how much work it really needs?"
"Well I have a news flash for you. Your fragging emergency is NOT my priority. Think about it a moment. Now at 09:00 tomorrow we have to all be at the Siren's Song for our next BRIEF from Mr. J. That brief may well require us to take on assassins, magicians and a couple of fragging corps to save dear Krass's degenerate hoop! You ready for that? How much running around have you done to get ready? From what I see, the answer is zero. Don't be putting your work off on me. Get your own hoop out of that chair and go do what you got to do! You see Quick hired me and he is the one that tells me what to do. He gave me some orders and nowhere in there do I see anything that says drop everything and kiss Mao's hoop!" Wheels turned and stalked out of the lair with BB's new access cards.
Pelch started laughing. "You'll never learn. You can't keep assuming that because you're part of a team that people are going to do work 'gratis' for you. They may not even have the time even if you planned to pay them. It's up to each member of the team to take care of themselves so they aren't a burden on the other members. Get those strange notions you have out of your head and get with reality, partner. The universe fragging hates you and will kill you if it can. Start doing for yourself instead of waiting for someone to do for you."
Pelch sat back and smiled, "Right now Widow bosses two thirds of the team, which consist of you, Freddy, Gremlin and me. The other third is Quick and Wheels, who Dom assigned to us and controls directly. They don't have to do squat for us and you just tried to volunteer Wheels to work on your Van so you don't have to spend extra NuYen and you didn't even ask him first. I can't believe people say I have no manners. Now I am going to tell you one last time and then I leave you to sink or swim on your own."
"Do you want a TRUCK like you originally said or do you want a VAN?" Pelch looked at Mao seriously, "What is a must have in the vehicle and a LIKE to have. How much you willing to spend? If you want to take the easy way out just hand me your money and I'll go buy you something, but be prepared to be disappointed if it ain't what you want. Just be glad you got whatever without having to work for it."

Freddy sticks with Widow for the next few hours - nice to get a decker on board - through Smythe as well.. which reminded him of their earlier conversation... watching Henri leave on Biz - Freddy reminded him about the Tomato lair - Widow should be able to set up some ID passes for Henri as well as this BB....
Widow - theres still the problem of a big leak, I doubt if NAN are going to sell us out, it isnt worth it for them - they want us there to pass on juicy information!
Tony knew to hit Maos van and Wheels' copter an car - so they are known to Tony, one of the first things to get BB onto is to see who has had access to their electronic files, and passed them on to Tony..
A leak at this end through JJ? doubt it.. An intercept from Ace to here? or an insider at Ace? worth persuing, though these are all top notch security concious organisations... This guy who did a runner then - even if he isnt the leak, it is worth checking him out
Just taking fotos of people entering the Siren could do it - then matching up the id's - one of the reasons I will be moving Meg out of our current place to somewherse new - and weve got a big undertaking for the near future, thats me an Meg, well mostly Meg... well it is just Meg, and I'm kinda helping out for the next few months. I'm waiting on news of a delivery.
It could help us out as well - Ive got my eye on a warehouse that I'm going to secure, magically secure as well as light physical.. a fallback position.
another thing - do you need any more skills around? I'm wired so if you want me to chip up and attempt to defuse any more surprises, or fly a panzer, I can do it - with the skillwire chips. I have a contact who is in that line of business, that is why I can now drive efficiently..
Freddy slides a slither of chip from one of the two slots at the back of his head.. Datajack and Chipjack slots.. then pops it in again. The second contains a lead into his shirt..radio? body monitor?
when were done here I need to go see Meg .. and if Mao is allocated to link with the Star - or you get a meet with Slash, a look at the chromehead for a lead would not go amiss.
Any information on Tony that Dom is willing to release?
