"...pair of chopsticks."
OOC: Pelch, "Well it seems no one took the nuclear option. Sometimes things are never what they seem. Other times they are exactly what they seem. You should never take anything for granted. Let's see how hard a time I can give myself."

Headcrack was sitting in the meeting room when Pelch, and Mao were escorted in. Pelch spoke to Mao as he spotted Headcrack, "I knew we shouldn't have just walked in here. Didn't you see the Environmental Hazard signs outside?"
Mao looked blandly at Pelch. "Great comment from the only guy whoever got a refund back from the 'Odor Eaters' people." He nodded to Headcrack and took the refreshments. Mao feared no beer. He spoke around an egg roll, "If they wanted to kill us they would have already tried. They have no pressing reason to poison us or drug us. When they offer free food you might just as well take it. You can console yourself with the fact that Pelch didn't cook it with hot sauce and that your getting a free lunch. Maybe they'll throw in the dry cleaning too."
Headcrack shrugged, "Maybe after a diet of drek prison food this stuff looks good to you?"
Mao shook his head in a negative way. "Actually, compared to what I had in prison this stuff is the drek." He continued to eat.
Pelch looked disgusted. "That's the first guy I EVER heard that likes prison food better than food on the outside." He sat down and put his feet on the table as he leaned back in the large chair. "I'm surrounded by idiots." He glared for a whole minute and then stood back up and headed for the door.
Mao said nothing but arose to follow. Headcrack looked surprised. "Where the frag are YOU going now?"
Pelch spoke back. "Look this BIFF wanted to see us. She goes to all this big fraxxing deal to get us here. Then she dumps us into a brunch room and leaves us fraxxing waiting? Well SLOT HER and the HORSE she rode in on! I ain't got time to play fraxxing games. How long you been here orc boy? She's running a game and I'm out of here." He went over and yanked the door open. There were no guards on the door! Pelch stepped out and Mao followed. Headcrack shrugged and got up and then followed the dwarf out into the hall.
Thirty minutes later Pelch was even angrier. The hall's were just empty corridors. No doors, no elevators, no windows. Every turn was a left turn no matter which way they travelled. They kept coming back to the one room with the food inside exactly the way it was when they left it and nothing more. Pelch slammed walls. He kicked walls. He looked for a secret passage. He looked for weak spots. He took out a cutter and tried to cut the wall to make a door. The cutter didn't seem to cut the walls at all. The corridors had no plugs, no outlets no pictures, no carpet. Just seamless walls running in left's forever. They stomped back into the room. Mao shrugged, sat back down, and began to eat again.
Headcrack took his original seat. Pelch kicked the chair and cursed venomously. That's when the slotting CONTROL walked in with Freddy and Widow. She smiled brightly as she walked to the head of the table. Pelch exploded.
"Listen, You cheap little tart! What don't you understand about the words, 'I FRAGGING QUIT?"
The Control looked at Pelch like he was new species of insect. "You have to be Gobwit. You are here because you made several accusations about the leadership of this group. You also stole property and equipment which you then took and sold in the Black Market. Before you misunderstand your position or try to distract the reasons for the meeting I want to point out a few realities of the situation."
"You no longer have a job at Skagit. That means you no longer have any job. That means you no longer have a SIN. That means you no longer have a HOUSE. I notified all the authorities that you had stolen from this company. I was able to put a lein on your scruffy little hide so I also took all your possessions. If a method of resale presents itself in this depressed economy you might get some of it back after we take our share. Considering your attitude though I wouldn't count on it. I'll point out the obvious in case you missed the point. I own your hoop and everything you're wearing. If you don't want to head for prison naked as a baby or get booted back into the street with nothing but a frown on your ugly face then you'll sit down and speak only when I ask you a question." Pelch looked shocked but sat down. He was going to have to rethink his approach.
The Control looked at Mao and then at Headcrack. "Mr Headcrack. I have been most impressed with your abilities. You will by now understand that you are not going to be able to proceed on your job without powerful backing. Your friend Fat Freddy will be paid and released. He will have no further obligation against you. JJ has also been removed in this situation. She is now supporting my actions. I would like to have you come work for us. I want to see if you can take this whole team, formulate a plan to track down BB and Wheels and bring them back here safe and unharmed. I suggest you accept my offer. I'll give you a few moments to consider it."
She then looked at Mao. "I know more about you than you yourself know. Your lapses of memory are for your protection. Pelch will be working for me. You would do well for yourself by continuing to do so. I'll give you some time to consider my words."
Pelch glared as she looked at him. "Mr Gobwit. I assume you have considered your options and are ready to get back to work?"
Pelch smiled, "I don't think so Le-al. I'm street. I've always had NOTHING. You could take everything I got and toss my hoop in jail or back on the street, but you don't fraxxing own me. Only thing you CAN do is kill me. If you wanted me dead I'd already BE that way so you need me for something. It's got to be nasty for you to sweet talk Ol' Fang Face there and Mao the idiot. So NO I ain't going to play. I was Quits when I walked in and I'm Quits now. Get yourself another pigeon for your game, you slot."
The Control laughed lightly in amusement. "You overrate yourself. You seem to think you can be a show stopper and that you can put it all together again later. It's not going to be like that. One thing you are correct about. I can't just kill you or release you. Others without your 'protection' I can just kill, which makes everything so much less complicated. However, despite the actions I have had to take up to this point, it is not my preferred method to force any of you into this operation. I would like your cooperation. So I think I'll give each one of you a chance to tell me what your goal is here. Maybe we can make a deal."
OOC: Pelch, "Well it seems no one took the nuclear option. Sometimes things are never what they seem. Other times they are exactly what they seem. You should never take anything for granted. Let's see how hard a time I can give myself."
