Henri gives the soldier an expressionless look for a few seconds while the ork holds out the SMG for him. Eventually he asks "You givin' me a loaded weapon? What happened to 'show clear' before you hand a weapon over?" The ork mutters something about "fraggin' wise-hoop breeders" as he removes the clip from the weapon, checks the breech, makes the weapon safe and then hands it over. Henri takes the SMG, checks it again, then re-inserts the clip and pushes the weapon's selector to semi-automatic. He lifts the SMG to his shoulder and lines up the sights. Applying the same lessons from his previous military training, he squeezes the trigger once. From where he is stood Henri can see that he scored a shoulder hit. Not great, but it could have been worse.
What follows for the next hour or so is more of the same. Eventually, with help from the ork, Henri gains enough confidence to attempt the double tap. His first few attempts are less the impressive, with his second round barley being in the same target. However, with some helpful criticism and pointed insults from the ork he's able to hit the target's centre mass both times. Even if the first shot is around the heart & lungs, while the second is anywhere from the shoulder to the bladder.
After a food & kaf break, the ork decides that Henri is ready to try the SMG in burst mode. "This time."The ork says "You won't be loading more than three rounds in each clip at a time." With a look at Henri he adds "For safety reasons, you get the idea." Henri pushes three rounds into each of his clips, then loads the weapon. This time he pushes the selector to the second setting, takes aim and squeezes the trigger. Upon checking the target he sees that had the target been a living person, he would have hit the chest and shoulder then given them a nasty shock as his third round passed their ear. Perhaps it would have been fatal, but that wasn't the point here. Over the course of the next few hours, the ork instructor has Henri altering his stance and leaning into the weapon to absorb some of the recoil. By the time it is time to pack up and check the decoy watcher that F-E had him set up, Henri is at least able to fire a burst and have the rounds land in the same target. This of course is on a firing range, without any pressure, adrenaline, or return fire.
