Ok folks, it should only be a few more days before I get my new motherboard. So i don't yet have access to my books. When I do i'll setup my shopping list. Wolf I had a question for you. You know MITS has rules for ritual sorcery but i'm wondering if ritual summoning following the same rules with minor tweaks is possible. Would make summoning big nastys a lot easer.

we need better encrypt for our comms too. (I can take care of that) Our new rigger may need some drone updates in form of encrypt and a jammer. (a smart jammer if sr3 has them) the site could also use permanent watchers and a masked alarm ward. (I could handle that too) the site could also use a zeppelin sniper drone thats solar powered. MWUHAHA!!
Also as a question, could you describe the site a bit better wolf? IE is the whole thing paved over or is there grass spots here and there? Where are we sleeping and such?

I can get an encryption program that's better than that..but if you can get more cheaply Shade, go for it.
since we got R5 commlinks, maybe get some R5 encryption or something..or even better too; I mean we already got something damn good, wiht average encryption (R3)

Sleeping - there are a couple of spare converted offices downstairs with six in the upper tier on the south facing long side of the unit. the other lower rooms contain machineries toilets power and a secure room. these are along the long side of the unit. the open workspace of the rest of the place has shelving benches and big kilns - a computing area has been set aside too. there is an overhead industrial crane for heavy lifting. on the west side a set of big rolldown doors would have allowed access for waggons to get inside the unit for loading - but these are now blocked by the outside walls of plant racks. next to the rollerdoors on the SE corner is the main office - refit with security pannelling.
there are walls with plant racks on either side running in three loops around the main building yhe inner loop up against the walls - these provide channelling a little like medieval curtain walls - as the heavy netting above these rises up to the tarpaulin roofing which cover the plants giving the effect of a huge tent. the tarpaulin roofing is stretched from the building guttering to the security fence and steel hawsers used to secure them in place.
this creates a covered outer space filled with plant walls - access for water power and maintenance between the walls so the gardeners can tend the veg. lit by day-glo tubes and flying bug zappers
to get in you would have to climb the fence then cut through the tarpaulin to get down into the plant area - a tough plas and wiring mesh will provide resistance and the cut wiring will alert security. or climb across the tent roofing to get up to the solid roof of the building. did we mention the bot pod which has a great view of most of the outer surface.. Main gate will allow a few vehicles squeezed in - theres a prefab office next to the gate - used by the gardeners for storage and caf
around the outer fencing is more plas covering - keeping the whole interior environment reasonably enclosed - around the crete footings inside of the fence runs a footwide strip of rodent zapper
the tent provides cover from the acid rain and the heat from the kilns should promote growing along with the sunglow tubes. It could have been rigid slabs of reinforced plas instead of flexible materials - but somethig to do with planning prevented this.. the outer is sprayed to flush off the acid rain. the building roof has a new covering too - a current runs through it keeping the razor gulls away
cameras and metal grills for the windows - other things in the vegetation racks catch the corner of your eye- but you'd need a good long view to fathom out what they are.
everything has to be inside the fence- outside becomes public - though there is a 100metre exclusion above each unit - to prevent spy blimps from buzzing your facility.
the sort of activities in the rest of the units include electronics, arms manufacture, pharmacuticles, all small scale industrial stuff with high turnover. They move here for mutual protection
there is a high power consumption lots of lighting and the kilns - pumps for watering - but power is virtually free in Seattle.. even so there is a backup generator.
With nearlt twenty people working it does give the impression of an industrious albe cozy setup. once the kilns are going full blast it will get quite warm
it will be home to the students and a home from home for a few of you for the next few months..

Nice...plus no need to drive home every day too..
We should get some scanning equipment; like a hand held metal detector and a cyberware scanner; patting down pople can only help us to spot what's holstered and sharp, but who knows if that cyber hand got a hidden blade or something.
and hello Cyroa!..Playing a rigger I see..

Greetings
Braddoc: yeah, you guys needed one. I'm kind of new at running them so suggestions or ideas are welcome (or if something I say makes no sense, please let me know)! Wolf told me to start even as I'm currently trying to figure out gear
But to keep up with the rest of the thread for gear (still trying to catch up on reading): - I already have encryption 6 (most stuff I have is R 6 except for the RC deck which is an 8) - Main vehicle (which is really heavily invested in) has ECM and ECCM both at 5 (they looked useful; no idea how to use em, heh) - Signal Amplifier (R 10) (signal strength seemed to be critical) - Guardian (vtol attack drone w/ MMG) - Lynx (w/ MMG) - 2 Strato-9 rotodrones

Nice set up...are guardians flying drones? I think some flying drones to check up the sky above us (since it's easy to fly over 100 meters) Not to mention bring death from above.

Shade has mentioned ritual summoning - I cant see why not, the summoners would be generating more pool to control the elemental. a problem would be time as rituals are in hours. It stands to reason that corp security would have ritual teams generating their defences including guardian spirits each elemental would take a rough day to prepare for - the site the circle - choice items to attract the elemental's attention while you generate the influence. Bit like 'taming a tiger' or at least getting it to settle down. Interruption would free it and it would turn on you an hour per spirit point.?
seems excessive but it is all controlled and quietly generating your astral influence.. make for a good episode - especially when it all goes titsup - where are those AP rounds...
there is no mention of ritual summoning - plenty on ritual spellcasting and searching.

Hahahaha...damn right..good times I had...and c'mon it ended well too: Heck, even got E-Weasel as a contact!
Had a thought: maybe Max or shade's decker contact or mine can take that R6 encryption from Cyroa and just build some extra encryption matrix which then can be installed on all of our commlink...
and then work on tracer units; like hinddne in watches or biometric readers.

Well my things to do and buy list is the fallowing
The list
Talk to Illyia to find out how I can use my initaive level to my advantage to gain spells with less Karma cost if possible. So I can start saving fo an Ally.
Get my spell formula from Shaun "Hot Potatos" I was thinking of this spell when the camping area was invaded by all those guys is millitary body armor.
Learn spell.
Set up summoning circles and give access to all the mages in the group to my appartment.
Set up summoning elementals with the other Hermetic mages.
I think that is it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds like you do have the Rigger source book cyroa from the drones you have, If you have any more questions let me know, I usally run Mages but I did help my brother with his rigger, I'm doing summer school right now back to full time at collage in the fall so I should have the time to look things up right now, just let me know what you need.
One thing My bro was getting into trouble with the MMG's legal wise ask Wolf about them he is the Gm and know all the laws of the Shadows right now. Have fun in the group and if you make a Elf don't fell bad if Four Eyes is mean to you he hates all elves and looks side ways at mages too, it is just his character not the poster.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Question anyone farmilar with the 2nd editon, there was a technology in the "shadow tech" I belive it was optical camo that worked like the stuff in "get Smart, out of control." where it would take images from a camra and then display it on the other side of your clothes to make you invisible, I use to love the stuff with it and termal damping suit you would be invisible. I haven't see it in the 3rd or 4th edition anyone know if it is there or why they don't have it any more. Just a passing thought.

Chuck wants to find how much cred he can get his hands on for some cyberware.
Up his Heavy Weapons skill Maybe see if meg is going to get us all some light security armor. If he only has what he has now then he'll just get a smartlink and some recoil comp for the LMG, and external smartlink, fore grip, external smartlink for his Ruger.
Wants to trade in Uzi III, defiance T-250 and the H&K on the cost of the mods he wants on his other fire arms.

Once I get my computer going again I can help with the rigger too. I did play one in SR4. Since I can't do any research to get his drones specs i can only say this without knowing better. If you dont have spy drones, get some. Upgrade the camera's with thermo, low light and put a motion sensor on them as well.
Wolf, does the complex have a court yard or other open place with access to dirt?
Braddoc: I was thinking of rotating encryption. Would slow the next set of bad guys down even more but i dont remember if sr3 has rules for it or not.
