"Yeah I"m sure..since it's easy work and all..but don't make it a habit to frag around during work, lack some professionalism, y'know?"
He smoked his cigarette while Angel seems to be looking for some support from Quicksilver.
"Curfew?..Didn't you read the PAD? Trip's from 6 to 7:35...Just make you you don't get filled, don't wanna take care of some pregnant woman on top of my problems...and miss the breakfast, i get yours..some 'hope he can feed you hahahaha..."

"Curfew just be back before 7:15 so we can be ready to go as soon as possible and be alone when you return." Quick glares at the back of her new friend. "Don't wanna have to go find you." Before she leaves quick whispers to her "We will have our comms if you need us be careful, don't do anything I wouldn't ahh .. just don't do anything too bad."
After Angel heads off after the guy Quick summons a watcher spirit for the next two hours and commands it to follow Angel and report back if she gets into any trouble.

Quick, "Why is it beautiful women always seem to attract idiots?"
The Dark elf smiles back nicely, "Darned if I know but they seem to come in by the CARLOAD! If you ain't got the balls to stand up for yourself, you can continue to eat HUMAN drek too." He walked around to the front of the van and ducked under it. Meanwhile, Braddoc and Angel have been whispering as the elf hooks the lead in cable onto the van to drag it forward. As the group continues to talk the van is pulled onto the boat. The elf quickly sets the wheel locks and motions for them to shut the car off. He moves back to get the next car. A troll motions them out of the car and points towards a small elevator.
"Your parking number is C -2. Don't forget where you park and be here at least 15 minutes before unloading time. The elevator is that way, Galley is on the second deck if your hungry. Watch the doors when you get out." He moved on as the next car approached.
Angel gets out and moves towards the rear to find the elf. Quick quickly creates a watcher spirit to follow her. Even as he gets ready to give it orders it explodes in a violet burst of mana. A security guard rapidly approaches carrying a stun baton. He glares at Quick as he yells at him and approaches across the deck. "That has to be THE DUMBEST STUNT, since Krass ended up with chicken feathers in his HOOP! What ARE you thinking? With all the Eco-terrorists around do you think we are going to allow you to summon or just cast spells about to satisfy your prurient interests? Give it a thought. We have pirates and HiJackers in these waters. Haven't you seen the reports about that? Now get this lame brain, they don't let you summon on trains, planes, orbitals, or any other public conveyance so why the frag do idiots like you think you can do it here? DON'T even think about doing that again and I suggest if you're going to a protected enclave that you don't do it there either! Your ill-thought action is going to cost you! That will be a 5,000 NuYen Fine for public nuisance, reckless endangerment and just pure blatant stupidity! You can pay it now or you can go to the brig and when we get back you can be turned over to the Star Anti-Terrorist Team for them to deal with. I'll tell you now, they won't be as lenient or forgiving as I am. What's it going to be?" He hands Quick a ticket and waits for his payoff or comment.
Angel unaware that Quick had summoned a spirit to follow her and his difficulties with same had found the Dark Elf. As she approached he stopped what he was doing and smiled. "Hey good looking. Glad you dumped the bozo's. Ready for your tour? He led her towards the lower deck. Bet you get off on BIG engines that can deliver lots of power." He remarked leering.

Quick mumbles and pays the fine after the guy leaves looks at Four-eyes "Well at least can feel alittle better about there not bein magic surveillance used on us either. Wonder if I can write off that fine as a business expense?" (hehe) After getting out and seeing and smelling the sea air Quick seems to quickly become pale ( well paler) and looks towards Four-eyes "Think we could go get some food , and maybe more wine? I will follow you we can get a seat and talk more there."

((Wow..BIG engine..ain't that some predictable line from a predictable creature))
Four-Eyes shook his head, wondering what's going on with Quick "Hey, it's fraggin' 6 in the morning, what's the matter with you wanting to get drunk already? Hell, I don't even start to drink at that time during my OWN time. Let's just go eat a good breakfast while Angel get stuffed and appreciate the smog-less sea air...And since when you're a mage and drek? You always had that or is this something new you got when you woke up this morning? The classy thing was to inform us that we had another goddamned elven mage with us..Oh well, your fine, not mine hahaha..but like hell you'll be clearing out the sour taste in your mouth with booze while I"m here." They arrived on the second floor and Four-eyes had to almost drag Quicksilver into the Galley. "C'mon it's already paid for..'Bet they even have a free refill policy for the soycaf too."

Angel watches as the elf sets the wheel locks, but he isn't sure exactly how well they were set. She also notes the van's position on the boat, as to whether or not it would actually be in any sort of danger.
Not one to argue with a troll, Angel heads to the elevator, taking note of where the car was parked. She wasn't about to stick around on the ferry.
(Wait a minute, she's a Mage. She wouldn't notice a Mana explosion?)
She didn't so much dump the bozos as she was trying to distract him. She follows him to the lower deck, taking care to memorize the landmarks, just in case she needed to make a fast exit.
Angel tries to ignore the double entendre, but offers one of her own. "I don't know, I've heard bigger engines usually compensate for shortcomings elsewhere." She follows behind him at a good distance, playing the tourist.

....and do the things I'll tell everyone we did anyway.OOC: Angel, "(Wait a minute, she's a Mage. She wouldn't notice a Mana explosion?) "OOC: Pelch, "I assumed some competency on Quick's part. I suspected that he, knowing you were a mage, would want you to be out of sight BEFORE he did the summoning. Since you didn't say you were looking back and were heading to the elevator, that means you would have been inside and heading down when his little 'accident' took place. Now here is the kicker, If you make a roll on the way down you might 'sense or feel' it happen but there is a lot of metal in between and you didn't actually go astral. Since it is NOT YOUR watcher you won't be as 'attuned' to it as Quick would be. If you wish to try though I make it a target number 8. Tough but not impossible. One last thing though, is that I also ASSUMED competency on your behalf. You are following a strange elf into a strange area with NO BACKUP! I would think that you would be more watchful of him and your immediate surroundings. Something I note you wisely did do in your latest post! It is still your call if you want to try. Hope that answers your question. By the way when you say 'good distance' I assume you are close enough to follow but far enough back so you can't be grabbed by him easily."
"For others following this or involved in posting, that means I also assume you folks have a certain level of experience and care when you do things unless you do something BLATANTLY silly and say so specifically. So like most experienced runners you mostly will be able to do things in your chosen field without appearing to be an idiot. the only other reason might be unless you have a deliberate 'FLAW' for rash action. Now Quick does do summonings but is NOT primarily a mage! Thus the outcome. If Angel had started the summoning she would have been warned before their were consequences since her primary competency IS as a MAGE. Remember, Sometimes it PAYS to be vague and other times it pays to be detailed. I'll leave it up to you to decide when. "The elf seemed unconcerned as Angel followed him. One thing Angel immediately noticed though was that he was NOT headed towards the stern of the ship to show her his 'engine'. He actually appeared to be heading forward. They traveled up the corridor on Subdeck 2 when the elf opened a door and smiled and waved her inside. It was dark in the room. Angel shook her head 'No' and motioned for the elf to proceed her. He did with a nod and turned on a light and sat down at a small table. It looked like a standard crewman's room. Angel entered wary and shut the door, but moved back so that it could not open fully without warning her. The elf nodded. The elf spoke humorously, "Now that we got to my room why don't we do some math? We can Add a bed, subtract our clothes, divide your legs, and multiply."Angel made a disgusted face, "How many cheesy lines do you have?"The elf laughed, "It's part of my charm. Does this one sound better? The word of the day is 'legs'. Now that we are back at my place why don't you spread the word?""You don't really think I'm going to fall for that corn do you?"He smiled and clapped his hands and on the third clap a gun popped out of his sleeve. It was aimed right at her. He wasn't smiling and looked dead serious. "Don't try to utter a spell or go for a weapon. It isn't a rape or an attack. It's to keep you from doing something foolish while I talk. This is a special kind of gun. If I let up on the trigger it goes off. If I pull on the trigger it goes off. Either way even if you kill me it goes off and it's aimed right at you. I'm an expert pistol marksman, take my word for it."Angel was careful. Something in the elf's eyes said that if she made any obvious moves he would pull the trigger without hesitation. The weapon was NOT silenced but that would do her little good if she was dead. He could make up any story. She decided to play for time. "Is this part of your 'charm' or do you always carry a deadman's gun up your sleeve? She stated with a slight smile. He didn't rise to the banter. "Now that I have your undivided attention, let's cut to the chase. As charming and pretty as you are, you and I both know you didn't follow me down here to get your hair parted. The reason I extended this invite was so that I could give you a chance to bid! You see I recognized the dude in the back seat even though he was trying to hide a bit. Now elves may look all alike to humans but I've seen that cat at the Eager Beaver. I also keep up with the Street word and know that he does 'hits'. Now a SMART guy like me has to be wondering, why would you folks, with a hitman, be traveling incognito into a protected enclave? Seems pretty obvious don't it? You ain't no more a survey party than I am. I tested out you folks and when you avoided a fight I KNEW you were up to no good. Now you have a choice. You can pay me off to keep quiet or I can get onto a radio and place a personal call to the 'zonies' protecting the enclave and let them handle you. Maybe they'll give me a BIG REWARD. I figured if you're going in for a hit someone paid you big money and I want my share. Let's call it insurance on your part." He smiled at Angel.

Gettin to galley seemed like a miracle at this point Quick was really thinkin this trip was a bad idea and now it cost him money just to come a feel like this but at least here he didn't have to worry as much about the water.
Quick looks at Four-eyes and as quiet as he can but makin sure he was heard by him " I just don't like the water I never learned how to swim and it makes me a little uncomfortable ok now can we let that drop. By the way I am not a mage I just seem to be able to call a spirit to help me from time to time but I keep it quiet most mages like to call people with this kind of ability "grogs" or worse and I don't need that drek from anyone. Now on a different matter think Angel will be ok I know she can handle herself and all but at this point is it really smart to split up last minute before we even start the job?"
At this point Quick grabs a few sandwiches for later and a coffee since he figured he really didn't need to be drinking anymore especially if he may need to go and check on Angel. Then while he was thinking of her he grabs two more sandwiches for her in case she was hungry also. Then he waits to see where Four-eyes was and headed to a table away from any windows or any view of the water.

Four-Eyes listen to Quick's heartbreaking story with a grin, "Damn Quick, you just need a feet with only 4 toes and I smell a trid movie on KORO within 2 months, think of the ratings!..'course I won't watch it...'Half-human..half-mage..he can't swin..and his left foot only got 4 toes..a story about a freak of nature that overcome the odds to end up on a ferrey, surrounded by water..and it's 'Wear sandals to work" day..tonight only, 8 Eastern, 10 Pacific on KORO..yeah that'll be grand, you better give me a cut on that if.." he glanced over his shoulder, Quick was busy picking some sandwiches over at the cold-food stand. He shook this idea from his head and ordered a hot breakfast, eggs, bacon, sausages, coffee, all full of soy goodness. He got his meal a minute later and looked around to spot Quick.
The elf was sitting alone in a corner, his back turned to the large window facing the sea. He was staring right at the steel wall. Might as well I have an hour and a half to kill anyways.. Four-Eyes navigated his way to Quicksilver, sitting with his back to the wall. "Hey..listen, if you say Angel can take care of herself fine with me, but hauling dead-weights ain't my idea of fun, much less an elven chick..hell a mage on top of that..What are you so concerned about?..Scared you won't be the one to pop her bush-cherry or somethin'?" He laughed and started chopping down his meal.

At the sight of the gun, Angel sets her mouth in a grim line. Things just went serious in the space of a heartbeat. (Going to attempt an Aura Reading, which is not a spell..please roll 10 dice for me, since the dice seem to have disappeared from the browser)
>"Don't try to utter a spell or go for a weapon. It isn't a rape or an attack. It's to keep you from doing something foolish while I talk. This is a special kind of gun. Angel was careful.
As charming and pretty as you are, you and I both know you didn't follow me down here to get your hair parted."
He had that right. "No, I thought you were going to help me kill some time and give me a tour of the ship." Here she was, playing the dumb female. She really hated to do that, but she wasn't left with a lot of choice. Then again, he could be bluffing. Deadman guns weren't exactly legal, and how could he have been able to bring it on board, even as a crewmember loading cars?
The reason I extended this invite was so that I could give you a chance to bid! You see I recognized the dude in the back seat even though he was trying to hide a bit. Now elves may look all alike to humans but I've seen that cat at the Eager Beaver. I also keep up with the Street word and know that he does 'hits'. I figured if you're going in for a hit someone paid you big money and I want my share. Let's call it insurance on your part." He smiled at Angel.
Being careful not to make any sudden moves, Angel considers her reply. "Okay, look, you're right. We're not a survey crew." She looks over to the door. "However, you got the rest wrong. If I was the type to do wet work, do you really think I would have gone into your room?" She lowers her voice to that a very sexy drawl. "If I was an assassin, I could have killed you below deck and stashed your body somewhere. Probably wouldn't be found for a while." She offers him the cruel, twisted mockery of a smile.
But her expression changes again, back to something neutral. She didn't appear too afraid. In the end, he couldn't kill her. Killing her got him no nuyen. "Look, chummer, despite what you think, we ain't doing a big bucks job here. And if you think the zonies will give you a big reward for our sorry butts, you're sadly mistaken. It's more like thanks, chummer, we'll take it from here."
"And of course, there's the fact that I'm not the person you should be asking this. So why don't you just let me go?"

OOC: Pelch, "So Braddoc wants to find out if Angel can cut it in the big time? To be honest I would want to know that about my chummers too. Not good to depend on people who don't have the guts, smarts, or talent to handle the drek. Let's look at Angel here. She has the courage and plenty. Just following the elf shows that. She is showing some flair in biding her time looking for a handle. That shows intelligence! This is not McDonalds, you don't always want situations to move fast. She's fishing for info and has raised some private thoughts which maybe she should ask the guy outright? If you fish for info, why not use your opportunity? Especially where the guy your grilling feels like he is in control? Now let's play it out a bit more tonight. Even Quick in PM to me this morning is finding Angel's problem quite interesting."
The elf smiled, "You're tensing up Le-al. Let's not do anything we both might regret." He smiled at her glare at the term of elven intimacy. "You are definitely not stupid and you shouldn't treat me like I am. The gun is only to keep you from attacking me. I have no intention of shooting you unless you threaten me in some way. If you want to turn around and walk right out that door, you are free to do so."
He waited a moment but she didn't leave, at least not yet. He smiled, "You are with a guy who does wet work. Maybe you don't and maybe you do, but I am a cautious fellow. You say you're not here for anything big but of course you would lie right through that pretty little mouth while giving me the come on. Normally I might be willing to go for that but the thought of you killing me frankly puts me off. Maybe after all this is over we can get together for some fun. For now let's just keep it business."
"You say I shouldn't be dealing with you. You're wrong. You are exactly the one I should be dealing with. Your friends have proved they are not approachable and are inclined to rebuff anyone like me offering them this sweet deal. Frankly their attitude sucks oozing drek. Now let's say that every breath you're taking is not a lie. Then I might just as well turn you into the 'Zonies'. Why? Well a smart girl would know that a little reward is better than none. The Captain might give me a promotion, an award, or a pay raise for being observant and stopping obvious admitted criminals like you from harassing the good protected folk we service. It makes for great publicity and more earnings for the company. I might even get my 15 minutes of fame. You will recall that you did just admit that you are not a survey team? I'm sure that if I 'narc' on you, all that will come out. Now a smart girl, a real smart girl like you should be doing your very best to convince me that it is in my best interest to do a deal with you. A lucrative deal with no comebacks and no death at the end. A nice FRIENDLY, LUCRATIVE deal. Catch my drift?"

Four-Eyes ate his hot breakfast, stopping only to drink a slip of soycaf here and there. But his appetite was always getting cut shorter and shorter with each slip o'caf he took, he had to watch at Quick. The elven guy was whiter than ever, looking down, looking damn nervous with the wave hitting the boat and Angel gnone with that sub-sub-race sailor scum. "Hey listen elf, you so damn concerned about where your blue-blooded sister is doing whit her black cousin, just fraggin' put your ear bud and see if it's all right..You hear moaning, that means she's already halfway there.." He chewed down at a piece of soy-bac "Or I dunno, faking it like in the porn, why do I care, 'least I can have a second serving now...Say can I have yours too?"
Quick put his ear bud and listens to what he was hearing, Four-Eyes simply got down on his meal and eat some more.

And so her suspicions were confirmed. He wasn't going to shoot her without reason. But the communicator was still on, so maybe, just maybe, there was still an easier way out of this. Angel keeps her voice clear and her tone even. "I'm not going to attack you, so put the pea shooter away."
She does not, however, walk out, though she does look at the door, taking her full gaze off him for a moment, an unspoken signal that she trusts him...to a point.
"If you're so cautious, you wouldn't be dragging me into a room that isn't yours and using a deadman's gun on me." Angel folds her arms, still not impressed by the elf. "You know, I could just scream. Help would arrive and you'd be the one left explaining yourself. Especially if you shot an unarmed female in a room on Subdeck 2 that isn't even yours."

"You want to keep it business. Fine, let's keep it that way. Fact is, I haven't seen a paycheck for this yet, so I'm pretty light on cash. You want a cut, you'll have to wait for it, same as me."
Angel runs her hand along the edges of her coverall, stopping when she reaches the top button. "So the question is, are you the impatient type that wants a quick little tidbit of gain or are you willing to wait for the promise of a bigger payoff?"
Angel crosses her legs, but licks her lips. A contradiction in her body language. "Choice is yours, Le-al." She says, putting an undue amount of stress in the last word. "But I'm thinking you're not the sort to be satisfied with just a quickie."

The elf laughed, "A mage is never unarmed. I think I'll keep the gun. I feel safer that way. I can always say I caught you down here poking around. You won't scream because I bet you DO have some kind of weapon on you. You don't want anyone but your friends busting in because if I tell my story to the Captain you're going to look real bad. Let's keep it just between you and I and consider it a Mexican Standoff for now. neither of us really wants to push the other at this point."
He watched her hands, both of them.
"You claim my lines are cheesy." The elf said with a smile, "I can wait for the payoff on both your deals IF you can make some solid moves to protect my interest in this. Now let's stop dancing around. You got your hands moving around a bit and that makes me nervous. Let's try to keep them still just so I'm not prone to an accident, right? You say I'll have to wait for a cut but your boss must have gotten some up front right? No? That seems unusual to me, doesn't it to you? Very well then. How much of a cut do you offer me? What guarantee do I have that you and your friends will hold up to their bargain and how will I get my share? Let's just say I am interested in the mechanics of all this."
