*ducks for cover since is sure that Shadowrun doesn't have tactical dreadnaught armor (Yes, a warhamemr 40k fan))*
Errr, no killing the newbie please. and this is the first time trying this online, so please be gentle, or not. I will admit I have some crazy ideas, like trying to see what a spell from a comic called "Order of the Stick" would be like in Shadowrun.
I do have such a program, I think, although, not sure what version. I friend was able to give it to me.
As for characters, I like to like foxes, so might go fox shapeshifter, or maybe a fox shaman, so any advice for those would be nice.
Oh yeah, For a friend's own shadowrun rpg (not on here), have a dwarf mage, who'se current idea for a name is Blasty (bad with names, I am).
Pelch and mechwarrior5, I would gladly take up your offer for history help.

Terminator Armour? Bah, gimme the Imperial Guard, they don't rely on crazy ass armour to do the job, they have the Iron Will of the Emperor which help them get trough the bloodiest of campaings..
And well, a few well-placed Commissars too.. "If you will not serve in combat, you will serve on the firing line!"
And there's always some heavy combat armour too..closest thing to terminator armour out there..
And we won't go all crazy on you newbie don't worry

Thanks.
Ahh, an Imperial Guard player. Me, I prefer the Space Wolves. Although, you may know, why your Main Battle Tanks are named after our Primarch?
Well, the Space Marines are the spear heads of the Empire, but the Imperial Guard is the hammer.

I always though they were the sword, not the spear..
and yeah, the Imperial Guard's the hammer, and the armoured corps's the anvil. WE don't need no fancy genetic manipulation..thought we can suffer from fear, contrary to the Marines..good thing the Master-Vox caster is a damn good buy.
As for why the Leman Russ is named like that, I read about it, but don't remeber..I do know the space Wolves can have some Russ tanks too

Yeah. And I think the answer is that they both are big, mean, and run on Alochol.
And you have to admit that the Space Wolves are really the black Wolf of the Space Marines. They do their own thing, and get away with it. But then again, they do ahve the Fang, which, IIRC, is the second best procted protess besides earth.
Also, any advice for SR 3edition? thanks.

So, how woudl i go about posting a character here? And anyplace where I can place a potential character sheet, and get some feedback? I will admit I am weak when it comes ot physcial descriptions and history of a character.

theshadowrun.proboards7.com/index.cgi?board=submitJust click onto the image of your character type (Sammy, Mage, Rigger, Decker) and you'll get forwarded to a PM window to the appropriated character specialist..as for posting a character idea..hmmm..dunno really..maybe in the suggestion box. As for history, Mechwarrior5 and Pelch Godwit are there to help you.

Bah! The all-consuming swarms of the hive fleet will be an end to you all! Or, they would, if I hadn't given up the game rather than buy another edition.
Personally, if I'm running low on character/story ideas, I just hit up my DVD collection. Currently working on a rather long-term campaign based in part on the Young and Dangerous Hong Kong action film series. I have a D&D character based on the first Orc hero from Warcraft 3, and I based my SR3 character for these boards off him.
Pop culture is less of a wasteland, more of a rubbish dump. And you know people throw out perfectly good stuff at the dump...

Ohhh, tyrannid player. Nice to meet you Shasta.
Nice about that. And well, the problem is that I have ideas, but well, have trouble fully bringing them to life. I have trouble describing characters, but will take your advice. It sounds good.

Troll-modified Jym-Suit with strength enhancement, gyromount, one side vindicator minigu, other side Panther Cannon, both sides dual-dikote-spurs and a cyber/bio upped troll-rigger inside *g*

Neato. And scary, since seems that don;t have to be near dead to use it. I woudl hate to run into something like that though. Or that if a GM does use that, the characters are equipped to able such a monster.

oh, it can be done without rigging, but then it is one heck of a slow and cumbersome thing . . even for a troll quite heavy, as these suits weight 300kilo with base strength of 7 and strength+3 weights 75 kilos . . oh, usual anti vehicluar weapons will get rid of that thing pretty easy . . HMG, maybe, panther cannon and rocket launchers too . . yes, i know, it is pretty scary what i can do with bending the rules ^^# i managed to build an battle tech clan elemental armor out of one of those things once *g* ok, price would have been somewhere in the 2.000.000+ range . . and if one were to actually use the full vehicular building rtules it would be pretty much impossible . . if it isn't magical, matrix or rigger stuff, i probably did it allready with one or the other character ^^ . . when it comes to mundane combat-monsters i am pretty much as close to power-gaming due to min/maxing as it goes *g* what i do ain't pretty. but i am the best there is at what i do *snickers* the other players in my group and the GM's come to me for tips regarding character building . . heck, there's even players from other groups asking for my hep or using one of my "famous" designs ^^
