Jakey makes a fone call once you have all completed - Hi Ballastor hows it hangin.. I said HI HOW ARE YOU DOIN? bloody line! its too weak
He checks the circuits - coming to the conclusion that the power link must be out, and the tower is running on residual battery power that is weak because of shortouts. But the circuitry is now all fine and tested up here.. so the beamed power dish from the site jenny (generator) must be down as well.....
There is a weak line of sight signal, but no transmission from here, yet..
More things to fix tomorrow when they get back...
Any further ideas anyone?

At the Antenna site, Four-Eyes will check the damge on the wires.."It's too clean to be done with a chainsaw or somethin'..maybe a mono weapon of some kind..", hios thoughts shakes left and right in his head, all the while accepting to patch up the cables.
"Hey, looks like gettin' the hang of this guys! We'll be done real fast, strip, chop and attach, strip, chop and attach...."
::hours later::
"Strip ther fraggin' wire......chop the drek part.....attach the two SOBs together..drek I feel like a wageslave minus the pay..I'm done here, it's all connected..fraggin' finally too."
He gets up and stretch his legs around, lighintg a smoke, checking around, trying ot figure out who would do something like that...."Comms was out before the Wendigo..well, before we met it..but Hamples, Jack and the rest didn't have the equpment, or knowledge to modify a drone, and cutting comms wasn't really an advantage to snatch people..the frag's got high-tech stuff to patch up a drone like that?.." "Say Jakey, since when was the comms out again?..and know anybody who would actually gain something by cutting comms in the area?, a corp or somethin'?"
(OOC: Well have a good time I hope se you Sunday then..and I vote for staying on site..never know if who, or what, ever did that might return.)

ooc: iv been dealing with school and havent been reading all those lengthy posts as my wife is almost breathing down my neck some days, so a quick recap of what happined since we entered the mine and what our mission is? (OOC: We didn't enter the mines..we whent to fix the antenna becasue all of the Falls region is without communications..arriving there, we saw it was sabotaged..we fixed it, but the signal's weak, the mine's generator might be offline..so we'll head back to fix it tommorow..now we got to decive iof we camp at the antenna or drive back at night to the mine..I voted to camp at the antenna.....and ppor you with the wife..hello Imigon's wife!))

(the communication antenna that relays the mine and the surrounding parts to the Falls camp...it's been offline for a while and Lucille can't call her contact to bring goods to the miners...oh, and remeber the drone that attacked us? turns out it was the mine's property..but it got modified, and the foreman don't know who could have modified a drone like that, and why....I hope that helps..got any question, don't hesitale to ask, I'll make quick resumes and such for you)

Fryer thinks for a bit . " We should camp the night here . Post a watch . Maybe beefup the security here to make it harder for then to cut the lines next time ."
" Also it might not ne a bad Idea to have your rigger remotly watch this place closer then you guys have been ." Fryer takes out his deck jacks in and contacts his fixer to launder the program and the cash he took . Then sets up an account which the runners will be able to pick up next time they are able ti ..... ie ... an seperate account for each of them .

Nina pulls out her cable plugs one end in her head and the other into a jack point and reccords the new account number in her private stash of data, then checks her messages and surfs the matrix a bit to pass the time.

Ah! the twinkling stars smile down on you all - the city-boys dont see this often through the smog of the Big Smoke.. its kinda scary, so big, and just keeps going....
And so dark. You rig up a few lamps that attragt a great cloud of bugs , then the bug chomping small critters then a snake and an owl or two - it soon gets quite busy... realising a campfire attracts then sizzles the bugs is a little better and cheerier than halogen bulbs, you soon set one up, and life gets cozier again.
Fryer decks out using the antenna as, an antenna.. works well even though it is down on power there is no proble with the cash from Willies account - there is no withdrawl - it is as if you had reached in and collected banknotes - you are adding to the black economy. Untraceable. You would find it difficult to fence things anyway, you need someone who is in the business to lose goods, yen, programmes etc for you. Simpol is probably the closest you have to a fixer...
But you get hooked into the matrix easily - to just nose about and catch up on things is good enough!
Nina is close to an access node - the antenna - it would have to be set up with matrix access - so you can easily tap in - no need for a jack (I'm not up on otaku - but they use their skills like programmes, a lot faster though..I believe. Youll hav to keep me filled in on the mechanics)
Between you and Fryer you can easily spread the yen around - you could probably directly update a stick through a cred transfer machine easily enough..
You would both be interested in each other's persona in the matrix - an area you two could explore and bounce ideas off each other about anytime in the story.. more ideas will help you both get to grips with how you think about the matrix - and let me adapt how I present it to you! Maybe Fryer could fill you in on a recent data-snatch...how Renraku view the matrix?
(OOC - this is a pastime, people outside of it can resent being 'left out' - dont let it get to that point where this becomes too important and gets in the way of real life!)
Back to the storyline... Night passes without a raid on the antenna, after a synthi-caff and popwafers (good old city chow! - they call it field rations up here) it's back onto the bikes. Jakey checks out the signals - all good, but the power needs a boost from the site. The lightening conductor has been coupled up again - a few good strikes and the batteries will be powered up.
Back down hill - it is a little scarier than going up, the feeling of toppling downwards is always there, however after an hour you all feel fine. You pass the first set of felled trees - slowing down in case of ambush... then the second set of trees.
Here you take a breather, stretch those aching legs. You are halfway along the route back, as Jakey gets a fone message from Ballastor - feint and full of static - about the same time, a flare goes up from the mining camp.. bad news!
Wont take you long to return - theres obviously something going on - what cha going to do ? If anything -does it even concern you? How can you find out?

(ooc, sorry i havent posted for a while, some stuff came about........)
Huinter had been quite, He still couldnt believe that he missed that fragging Drone. Stepping out of the vehicle, he stretched his legs and then unslug his rifle, looking at a tree and taking aim. the static drew his attention, and he raised the gun into a safe position as he turned aroiund, noticing the flare. "Lets go!" he said, startling many people who had thought that he had gone mute. This really hadnt been a good trip for him yet.
