LVL 1 - Hung Lee (Human Fixer) – A former triad enforcer, Hung Lee is a rather over-weight middle aged man that has elevated himself to the position of fixer. He still has ties with the Triad, but he has also branched out into other avenues. He has his fingers in a lot of pies.
LVL 1 - Hopper (Ork Gun Runner) – Hopper is a gunrunner that operates several T-birds in an effort to arm just about every conflict in North America. It was one of his T-birds that Johnny got to Seattle on, and Johnny has used him to buy gear from before. He’s also proved a useful contact for information trickling out of Cal Free.

DESCRIPTION
Johnny isn’t very big. At 5’ 7”, he’s just slightly shorter than average for his ethnicity. But what he lacks in size, he makes up for in speed. Every movement he makes is quick, fluid, and sure, and he continuously keeps shifting his gaze around him, as if scared to look in one place for long lest he miss something in another direction. His face, clean shaven except for a thin mustache, shows a little intermixing between Asian and Anglo blood, but most would not notice it. He often wears a bandana atop his head, on from which his black hair spills onto his shoulders. He also wears what looks like a knock-off bomber jacket over a wife beater and a pair of urban camoflauge fatigues and army surplus combat boots.
HISTORY
Johnny Chung hates Japs. No, he doesn’t just hate them. He despises them, detests them, Loathes them. Use whatever synonym you want, but suffice to say that he thinks they’re the scum of the earth. And for good reason.
Johnny’s parents immigrated to the old United States from China back before World War II, which was about the time that the Japanese Empire was going ape shit on just about every single country around them. But Johnny’s ancestors got out, the Japanese got an old fashioned American ass whoopin’, and the world was safe once again. Right?
Well, for a time at least. Five generations of the Chung family lived in relative peace in San Francisco, California, where they managed to corner the market on cheap take-out Chinese food. Johnny was born in 2041 to a fairly modest living—definitely a lot better than most of the poor SOBs out there scrapping for a living on the streets. But, like any kid growing up in modern times, he had a bit of a rebellious streak in him. When he got into his early teens, he began to hang out with some of the seedier elements of the Chinatown scene. So, in other words, the Triads. He enjoyed the feeling of danger, of community, and of cultural heritage that his family seemed to have lost after so many years of Americanization. Johnny got into trouble here and there, but it was mostly minor stuff that he could weasel out of. During the course of his time with the Triads, he found that he had some magical aptitude and began to hone that ability with various skills, namely pistol shooting, which he excelled at.
Then, when Johnny was 17 years old, the fragging Japs invaded. It was like Manchuria all over again as General Santo’s tanks rolled through the streets of San Fran, declaring martial law and blasting anyone who so much as asked why. Now, anyone who knows anything about Asian culture/history knows that the Chinese really didn’t like the Japs to begin with. When a government categorically denies the myriad of atrocities they committed against your people, you can grow up kind of bitter about the whole debacle. So there’s Johnny and his buddies, already pissed the hell off about stuff that happened to their ancestors way back when, and then the Japs invade. Again. It was like fragging Manchuria all over again, and damn it, that got their blood boiling.
Now, there were a lot of resistance groups against the invasion, but the Triads comprised one of the most prominent. Johnny joined in with some of his compatriots in waging a guerilla war against the invaders. That’s where he got his first real taste for a gunfight, and where he learned his skills with explosives. For a while, they managed to bloody the Japanese a good bit, but once the Imperial army got wise to their tactics, it was all over. Johnny was captured in a raid on a Triad safehouse and taken prisoner as a spy by the Japanese.
The next two years of his life were something of a blur comprised of comprised of frequent beatings, solitary confinement in a dark, cold, narrow cell, and mock executions, all aimed at breaking the young man’s will. It took a while, but break he did. He told them the names of all his friends and relatives, even those that were never involved with the resistance. He told them everything he knew, and even some things he didn’t, all just so that the pain would stop. Once they got what they wanted, the Japs locked him in a hole with barely enough room to lie down, in near total darkness while they waited to assign an execution date. But as fate would have it, elements of a Yakuza cell broke into the prison and freed several Japanese prisoners, Johnny included.
Several people died, but somehow Johnny got out—safe, but a long way from unharmed. After two years of imprisonment, his mind was cracked. He could still be of use to the resistance in the future, but for the moment, he was useless to them. Plus, he was also a hunted man, and the Japanese were sure to have his tissue samples on file. They could use him to track down other elements of the cell. So, they paid Johnny’s way on a T-bird that had been running guns into the Free State, which took him to Seattle where he got set up with one of the local Triad bosses while he recovers.
Johnny has spent about two months in Seattle so far, and his money is running short. He is only loosely affiliated with the Triads now, but does odd jobs for a Chinese fixer and former Triad tough that set him up with his flop. He is currently occupied with moving past his torturous experience, and the best way for him to do that—in his opinion—is to get revenge on the rice-eating sons-a-bitches that did this to him (never mind the fact that he, too, is a rice-eating SOB. In such times, any ‘ole ethnic slur will do when directed at the Japs). As of yet, he has started to work a bit in the Seattle shadow community, but hasn’t gotten into anything real heavy, but he’s constantly on the look out for a job—especially if it involves sticking it to the Japanese somehow. In his mind, all of it gets him closer to revenge against his ancestral aggressors.
