NSRCG is a nifty little program you can download that does all the number crunching inherent in character creation for you. It's a bit quirky at times and you have to be logged in as the administrator on your computer in order to get it installed, but it works fairly well once you figure it all out.
This little puppy has information from SR3, the SR Companion, Cannon Companion, Man and Maching, Rigger 3, and Magic in the Shadows Sourcebooks, and possibly more from other sources (I don't know personally). It has stats for weapons and vehicles and skills, and myriad other intricacies of the system. It supports priority, point-based, and BeCKS character generation, and has many options that you can fiddle around with to make sure your character matches campaign requirements. It may take a while to figure out, but it is definitely worth it. It saves so much time when creating a character. You can download it here (just scroll down the page 'til you find a download link).

When using the different systems for charracter generation, how many points should be used on each? I know how the priority system works, and the basics of the BeCKS and point-based, but I also know that you can go and change how many points you get to do things with. What is the default number?
