Taking a long cab ride (the driver insisted about passing by Bellevue, not cutting by the Barerns) you arrived at Floppy's motel, 15 minutes late and 118 Nuyen lighter.
The motel is near the border of Touristville and Kingsgate, at the northern tip of Redmond proper. Placed between an old warehouse transformed into a club, a liquor store and facing a Stuffer Shack. It is 2 stories high, but the stairs are blocked, and all but one of the second story rooms are boarded up. The decaying main building is covered up but bit aof paints her and there, and prostitutes are hanging in front of it; 4 elves, 5 humans, a petite ork (petite for an ork of course) and 2 men. One of the humans is leaning on the building, a simsence deck in her hand. She seems to be barely hanging onto it. The street workers' ages range fom 'doesn't look legal' to 'senior citizen discount accepted'.
In the cracked parking lot, you can't see Blicks' white van.
It's 12:17, where the hell is that rigger?

I'll call blicks. If no answer I'll leave the following message: "I'm here, late but here. Call me asap." If he answers: "I'm here, now what?" [whisper=Xenomarch,Braddoc]I also put in a call to Yorgi: "How reliable is Blicks?"[/whisper]

Jorinda swears quietly when the cabbie refuses to cross the Barrens. The drekhead wouldn't even take hazard pay to do it! The ride wound up being more expensive, and she makes sure that the tip is smaller than it should be.
The van wasn't there, but Jorinda scans the lot for signs of other vehicles. Then again, Xeno hadn't called Blicks to tell him they were running late. Maybe the rigger had bailed on them; she knew she'd bail on someone if they were more than fifteen minutes late for a meet without a warning call.
She looks at the others and shrugs. "Maybe he bailed on us because we were late." She replies. "Can you call him and find out?"

Blicks picks up the phone "Hey Xeno..get inside, I"ll meet you there." You get inside the main building. some of the working girls and guys looks at the trio, some even goes as far as muttering insults to Jorinda, maybe thinking she was working in their spot.
The inside is as bad looking at the outside. A fat old bare-chested ork nods at you from behind the armoured glass of the counter as Blicks appears from the small hallway besides it "You're late..doesn't matter, follow me." He leads you to a utility closet, and push a section of the wall over, revealing a staircase "Last one up closes the door, all right?"
You get inside a darken room, the smell of hot, recycling air is heavy. It seems you are in the un-boarded room on the second floor, which you can see it a reinforced steel door. There's a small bed in a corner, the rest of the place seems to be a rigger's shop, with drone pieces and electronics everywhere. Blicks sits down on the only comfy looking chair who wasn't covered in junk. "Droning in the Barrens is also a sure way to get dumpstocked, So I want someone watching over me at all times..You can see what the drone sees from that screen" He motions to a 13 inch wide screen on the work table. " Now, where are those gangers located?"

Jorinda walks into the building, staying very close to the guys. The joygirls were hurling insults at her, thinking she was trolling, encroaching on their turf. As if, but they were lucky that she wasn't.
Jorinda regards the ancient Ork. At his words, she shakes her head. It wasn't their fault that they were late. She follows him to the utility closet and pauses for a moment. Then again, runners see a lot of strange drek. She hangs back, allowing the guys to go ahead of her, and closes the door behind them. She makes her way down the stairs, keeping one hand on the wall as if trying to keep her balance...or maybe just her grip on reality.
Finally, they reach their destination, and the place was cluttered with bits, parts and other junk. And in the middle of it all, Blicks. He was sitting in the only chair that was free of detrius, so Jorinda grabs a patch of wall, and waits for Xenomarch to talk first.

I'll head in right after Blicks letting Jorinda to pull rear guard. " Nice place you bring me to Blicks." <manical grin starting> " Jorinda can give you that. 1st though lets settle up what I owe you." I'll hand him my credstick and authorize the transfer of ¥15,000.

Jorinda looks at Blicks, and recalls in exquisite detail the memory of her interrogation of the ganger. "They're at a plane crash site, just south of the Skykomish River." She repies. She hopes there weren't a lot of plane crash sites in the Barrens, but it wouldn't surprise her if the place was a plane graveyard.

Blicks' eyes widen "Skykomish River! That's on the other side of Redmond, if I knew that before I would have stayed in Monroe, at least I would have saved some fuel." He sighs and started searching in the small piles of computer panels, tools and papers on the work table. He finally found what he was looking for; a road atlas, 2029 edition. "All right, from what I can remember, there was a low-orbit space plane that crashed there. Redmond was already a hellhole, so no one came to put out he flames or help the wounded, if people actually survived this...well I think the inmates of the old prison that's around here.." Blicks pointed to the Skykomish Penitentiary. "...used to live there when it crashed..I don't know if any survived." He flipped the pages, and showed you Skykomish River area. "See it crashed around here. south of it, it's the Rat's Nest. East is the Salish-Slidle Council lands right over the 203."He picked a cup of soycaf and drank some "It'll take about 45 minutes for one of my drones to get there. Since they got about 2 hours of fuel, I can only look around for about 20-25 minutes before it got to get back here. Of course I can go back to Monroe and launched from there, it's a bit more hairy to get there, but I can stay in the air damn much longer then from here, but hey, you're the boss, I don't care."He cracked his knuckles and looks at the trio "Another thing, why do you want me to recon a crashed site that long forgotten by most of the population? I don't think it's for a history class?.."((got a map here in case you want a visual: www.wizkidsgames.com/shadowrun/shadowland/article.asp?cid=37607)

He hadn't asked earlier. Or at least, he hadn't asked her or she would have told him. Besides, Xeno was probably paying the guy more than enough to cover fuel.

Blicks looked at Jorinda with an upped eyebrow and a questionable look on his face. "Filming a trid? Yesterday you were guarding some store in Snohomish and now you're filming a trid? How stupid to do you think I am? If you're lying, at least have some sort of lie that makes sense." He turned to Xnomarch "Listen Xeno, you pay good but I don't take any bulldrek. Be honest, or the deal's off."

Jorinda laughs, trying to defuse the situation with humor. "You just said you wanted a reason, now you want one that makes sense? Geez, you're sure picky."
"Look, chummer, sorry if I pissed you off. Are you sure you really want to know...a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing..."

"Listen Xeno, you pay good but I don't take any bulldrek. Be honest, or the deal's off." Honest, eh? What would this walking corpse know...Shut up Xeno. <sigh> " Blicks, it's like this. I'm paying you, I'll even guard your meat body while you Rig. What I won't do is give you info that might or might not get you or me or Jorinda killed. Oh and I guess that goes for him too." Pointing at Hardcastle. " Now will you Rig or do I need to let Yorgi know I need someone reliable?" ((OOC: Braddoc could you change from Blue or Navy or whatever the color you're using. It's killing my eyes. Thanx))

Blicks glances over at Jorinda for her comment and turned back to Xeno "Listen Xenomarch. I'll be the one taking the risks while you sit there comfortably. I'll be risking my drone. I even took a risk brining you here. I'm not asking to get every details. Yesterday it was doing recon in case someone attacked that store. It got hit" He grabbed a copy of the Snohomish Herald and hand it to Xenomarch. "It even had a 2 minutes coverage by that news channel, Channel 512. It got nothing to do with being reliable. If you're going for those gangers, fine with me, I just want to know in what I'm jumping in, because if you do go after them, I"m betting you'll want some air support huh? If you don't like me asking why I"m risking alot for you, take your money and leave and never contact me again. Tell that Japanese decker what you want, I am reliable, but I"m not a mercenary who do anything without question for money, ok?"
