"And you're not very attractive."
BB was continuing in her effort to get things sorted out. She took the evidence that Wheels had and passed it immediately to Lone Star Tac Ops that was working the case. Things were starting to pick up quickly. Krass's office had quickly cleared the way and the Star was now cooperating fully. She had reestablished contact with Mao and with Pops as well. He had been appointed liaison to the Mayor's Team for the duration of the incident. That would make things easier.
Quick was busy talking to JJ. He had laid on, through Krass Drassel and the Control, a Bulldog Van which was on the way with a driver. Quick was quickly getting supplies, armor, explosives, weapons, ammo and replacement communicators loaded. He would be going to Pier 67 to meet with Widow, Mao, Pops, and Freddy. He would also be taking Henri's body with him so that when Freddy's signal reached the mage he could rejoin his body there.
A Lone Star Pursuit Boat was also moving to pick up the group at the Pier when they arrived. It had been alerted to the chopper's transponder and had it clearly on radar. The Bulldog pulled up and while Quick and the driver loaded gear, BB moved Henri's body in the van. With a smile, Quick and the driver zoomed out of the parking area heading for the Pier.
BB raced to the roof where a small Ace, 'Wasp' awaited her to take her to Sea Tac. She was able, on the ride to the airport to ready Wheels flight plan and to get clearance for the take off for his craft with a Lone Star priority clearance. His chopper would be warmed up and waiting when he arrived.
Pops, and Mao, pulled up screeching at Pier 67 where Widow and Freddy were just getting ready to board a Lone Star 'Wave Ripper'. The armored ship was normally used for fast intercepts and was well armed with several rotating 40 MM cannon. A short while later Quick suddenly pulled up as well and with plenty of help had the gear off loaded. Henri rejoined his body at this time, thankful that he had not been forgotten. The ship quickly started in pursuit of the Dragon.
Wheels arrived at Sea Tac where a Lone Star Agent met him and proceeded to escort him at a run to his chopper. BB was already in the co-pilot's seat and obviously still using her wireless to coordinate and update the flight plans. Wheels quickly preflighted and with little ado he raced off in pursuit of the Dragon.
Pelch awoke on board the Dragon. He was handcuffed into a special chair and a razor guy was looking at him like a side of beef. Pelch had been in this situation before. He said nothing.
"Your friends seem to have decided that you are more important than you look. They got the Star burning up the airways and we have a Lone Star cutter chasing us. Also they just lifted a chopper from Sea Tac which is under a priority flight plan. Now why do you suppose they want to recover a cop killer like you so bad?"
"It's my sparkling personality." Pelch said with no smile, "Besides they think I owe them money. Especially Widow, she hates it when she thinks I might make some money she can't grab first. "
"So you're into them for what? A couple of mil?" The razor guy asked amiably, not believing a word of it.
"Who keeps track?" Pelch shrugged as he replied. "So if they are following us with all that firepower, why not just give it up now?"
The Razor Guy laughed, "Or better yet, why not lead them into a trap? Finish them all off in one hit and then we can get on with our business."
"What business is that?"
"I think, I'll ask the questions here. I suspect you are too stupid for them to tell you anything. They may be just following us because they think they will find out something, but now that your Buddy Wheels is dead and gone they won't find anything." He turned away and went to speak to the pilot.

We have to assume that they know we are following - that should mean we can stop them for kidnapping and anything else the Krass-Star cooperation can rustle up and make stick.. Can we get intercept VTOLs to force the chopper down like they do in the trids, ending up with a big explosion though...
Ah, the Star and Mao...
and Pops... I said we'd be working together! Nice one !
Once the ride gets here we can all bring eack other up to speed - Looks like Henri is tailing them ... Lets keep comms chatter limited in case they are listening in. I would expect to be chased - and a Wave Ripper isnt easy to hide. They have shown that they like nasty surprises.
as Henri is trailing the copter, an important lead has to be in there, so we got to follow - but if we get out of sight we still got sattelite tracking. I can triple the speed of the boat - maybe getting to their destination before they do - as long as we get out of their sight we may be able to ambush them for once...
Freddy steps up and shakes with Pops... turns to Widow..
Pops, Widow.. 1IC Henri is our mage up there, Youve met Mao... Quick should be with us soon with Henri I believe . Our Decker BB is joining the dots
Grief! how things change.. a month ago we would all be ducking out of the spotlight, and here we are waiting for the Star transport!
Squeak of the devil - Quick in a bulldog, and not in the back!
Do you want me to show that we have magical support, or keep out of sight?
Freddy stopped gabbing and helped get Henri's meat into a jacket once on the Wave Rider..

Once Quick gets to the docks and out of the van he hurries to unload the equipment and says very little but something definitely seems to be bothering him and he only seems to unload the things to the end of the dock letting the others load it on the Wave Ripper and he keeps his Briefcase with "Helen" in it by his side. After all is loaded on the ship everyone gets on and ready to pursue the Dragon, Quick gets on and seems to still be agitated for whatever reason but says nothing just goes and sits away from the side of the boat waitin to see what the plan is when they catch up the Dragon.

As they finally made their approach to the pier Mao saw that the team was beginning to assemble there.
"Nice bunch of folks you sure hang out with..."
Mao quickly responded followed with a grin..."Just like the present company."
They quickly both got out of the car with pops beginning to sort out the star resources as best he can and the current status. Mao first off equipped himself with gear and passed the comm device to Quick to look at. (Note to Mao, BB is in the chopper with Wheels.) Quick was ready and swapped out Mao's defective unit for a working one.
"What's the status BB?" Mao asked over the comm.
"Well...Wheels and I have made contact with everyone and we are making our way over on a chopper while rest of the team is here. Quick as you can see has the equipment brought over. I'm still continuining to monitor the dragon's flight path to not lose them. Meanwhile you are liason with the Star..." [/color] "Understood. Thanks for the update BB. Good work and keep it up." Mao gave her a (virtual) quick pat on the back of her shoulder and proceeded to make his way to Pops to see how things were unfolding on the Star end. He signalled Widow over since she was the team's leader. Mao quickly introduced Pops to Widow...
"Status Larry Poppins?"
"Well Cowboy liason...no clue how you do it but it seems we have the tools for a very big shakedown for when that chopper lands."
"Could be a trap...whoever they are..they've been itching to kill us..."
"Which you guys have failed to tell me why yet. I don't want to lose any more folks to this operation needlessly."
"I understand that Pops. What I can tell you both right now is that time and time again..it seems it all started back at the pub. I recall saying that Wheels was backing me up the whole time with eyes in the sky... thus something must have been shaking down at the site where I met with Tony and Slash. They believe that Wheels saw something that is very important or so dangerous that we need to get axed for."
"Geez...kidnapping, gang warfare..."
"So Wheels is our primary asset we have in dealing with these folks. Problem is...we don't know what it is..."
"So we have to protect Wheels..."
"Or..."
"We somehow play their game..lure them into our trap by offering Wheels in trade or something. Someone wants Wheels dead...why not turn the tables...and suggest we are tucking tails and wish to give up what they want in turn we get Pelch and walk away safely...which of course we won't do..."
"You want to use Wheels as bait?"
"I think we all know that the chopper is leading us to who knows where...we need to have an ace up our sleeve...and I believe all we do have is 'Wheels'. Maybe they were the plans about the mission we were about to recieve that we didn't accept...who knows..."
Mao left that decision up to Widow. They were willing to walk into a trap to save Pelch or find out exactly who has been behind all these hits etc. But they also needed a Plan B if all hell broke loose...and Mao believe Wheels was it. Thus the star and ex-star looked into Widow's direction to see what she thought now...

Just as the chopper heads out to sea, Henri looks back to see that the Lonestar mage who was accompanying him had stopped. "Probably too scared to lose sight of land." He thinks derisively as he takes one last look over his shoulder. Suddenly, he pulls up & stops, having seen the spider on the side of the warehouse. Looking at the chopper, then back over his shoulder he makes a quick decision. Nodding in appreciation of what must be Freddy's quick thinking, Henri flies toward the dock.
After he merges with his body again, he stretches and walks around for a few minutes to work the cramps out of his muscles. As he does so he reaches inside his jacket to check that his pistol is still there. Finding that it is, he pulls it out, checks that a round is chambered then re-holsters it. "I suppose you've got a permit for that." Pops says, aparrantly automatically. "I left it in my other jacket" replies Henri, figuring that Pops wasn't going to press the issue while Henri's heavily armed team members are nearby. Although the old guy did have a point, he was going to have to buy a permit for his fake I.D when this was all over.
Looking around, Henri notices another chopper and a Lonestar Waveripper waiting to to head after the shaman, as well as all the 'star vehicles being organised by Pops. "So much for them not knowin' we're following" he thinks.
As the Waveripper bounces across the water, Henri shouts over the noise of the motor. "They gotta know we're comin' with all this. We should assume they'll be prepared for guests, but at the same time we shouldn't give them time to get any more prepared." Looking at one of the 40mm cannons he can't help thinking that one of those might come in handy once they got to wherever they were headed.
After listening to Mao's idea to use Wheels as bait, Henri keeps quiet. He had recently suggested using Wheels as bait himself, but that was with backup, not on the enemy's own turf and there wasn't time to argue the point. There was a damn good chance all hell was going to break loose, besides this was about recovering Pelch before he got 'bugged'. They didn't know what it was that Wheels was meant to know so how the frag could they use it to bargain with?

What you got Henri..? we got a little time in the boat ...
we should keep any unsecured comms information to a minimum.. can BB sort that out for us?
As said I can triple the speed of this thing if you want... or keep our magic hidden?
Widow, how are we going in...?

He had always liked the sea, it reminded him of millions of scales, ripples and hisses, strange that Snake had little love for the sea.. though the Japanese Dragons were all supposed to be water creatures, big versions of Snake? So he stared out to sea while the group came up to speed...
With BB scrambling the sends, comms security was established, allowing them to link up with Wheels
Henri had been able to pinpoint the warehouse where the Dragon had taken off from, and confirming the bodies aboard the chopper.. The star mage could verify a dwarf on board as well.. Star to clean up the warehouse with its small army, leaving the rescue of Pelch to the team.
Wards and controls used to good effect to facilitate the snatch of Wheels - but they got Pelch instead, could be they just like dwarves.. Dwarf-mosquito flesh forms.. yik
We got anything on this Telestrian corp or the Platform BB? a sat-pic could be good to see what lies in wait for us..
What about legality here - could we be provoking a diplomatic incident ?
And is everyone armoured up - any shields on board?
Freddy got yappy when he got nervous - twitchy was more appropiate - like he was trying to control too much chem pumping round the small frame of his, the by-product of being magically wired.. body and mind not coordinating correctly.. twitchy.
Checking his chips - Athletics took him from being able to twitch in one place to being able to shin up a rope and roll for cover... along with the Pistol programme, without it he may as well use the tasar as a club. Close-in stuff though. he borrowed a short blue painter, a rope coil with a brass D-clamp nice flexible weapon..
how about buddying up to look out for each other.. twos or threes? How would the Star do it Pops?
A sea-spirit would help with speeding up their arrival - but would cutting their arrival time dramatically affect the patform preparations ?
Snake loved discovering answers, uncovering hidden information - Freddy verbalised that side of the totem in posing questions. Twitchy.

Once BB got a visual or a schematic of the platform, they would be able to direct their assault - if an assault was needed.. they might be able to pick out defensive positions and hardpoints if any.. If they had access to high-spec millitary equipment to go about their day-job of blowing people up, then there was bound to be some heavy hitters at base camp.
He and Quick could call up a couple of spirits to mask their approach.. The team were mage-heavy which is always a bonus....

(OOC - Guys, are we going to finish this off as Pelch suggests, or leave it as a cliffhanger.. there is enough good sense in our group to be able to run this - we need a concensus on:
Does the Shaman expect to escape Do we get a few answers Do we get paid - it would not be hard for players to write in what the Shaman is up to, as a background to what we can expect to fight, or negotiate with.. most players have been writing in other chas anyway... - It does not have to be a slugfest.. well... what do people think?)

OOC: Pelch smiling like the village idiot, "What dogs bollocks is this? I told you lot I would finish this scenario and I will! I hate to leave things hanging." Looks down a bit, "I wouldn't want you to think I was a bit of a tool now, and I might be a tad slow getting around to it but I have every intention of getting this done one way or another. Now since you all have been laggard in keeping this up, it's time for me to do SOMETHING so you can move your characters on later. Besides I'll be pickled before I leave my character hanging about like this. I might want to use him later when I have more time. "
On board the chopper the pilot was not enjoying the fact that suddenly his ride was being painted with an Ares Mk IV Radar targeting system! He called the Captain of the ship that was furiously churning the waves behind him. "Look I know why your after me. I'll make you a deal. You let us leave without following and you can have your dwarf back. We'll put a life vest on him and drop him off where you can pick him up. If you fire a missile at us, we'll let's just say your little friend don't swim so well. Don't give me no bull drek about how unimportant he is either, if you have this much action going on then you must consider him pretty fragging valuable. What do you say to that offer?"

we are out of Seattle juristiction, so whatever we do is unofficial...
Henri saw Pelch on board, so they got a hostage.. what is the Star's line on this sort of situation?
He lets Pelch drop, he gets a missile, and I think he would know that.. how about we up the stakes and get him to drop the shaman as well, now THAT would be a satisfactory outcome.. though how far the pilot wants to go to save his own neck....
Henri - who else was on board ? or did the shaman have any focii on him that we could attack through astral..? They are the target after all...
Freddy puts his points to the others as they crash through the choppy seas

Mao looked over to Pops to see what his response was from the enemy chopper that they were chasing. It was a look of concern since already the Star was dealing with this business that seemed was getting out of hand which had led to waters outside of seattle jurisdiction...all of that was upon Pop's responsibility and shoulders. But that was his problem nonetheless. He had to concentrate on the matter at hand first. Mao tilted his hat back alittle to get a better view of the enemy chopper...and depressed the radio button so that the rest of the team could hear his opinion.
"Getting Pelch back isn't enough in my opinion...they can always just decide to call even stevens and just go belly up at anytime and crash the sucker into the sea...but my guess is that if they are as good as they say...getting caught and saving their lives is better than dying. We need information...and we need it pronto. I say they give Pelch back and give us the info and the shaman we're after so that we know exactly who we are going to pay a visit to next. If not, I say lets just see how smart or good these guys think they are..."
Mao gave a few seconds to see if any of the other team members would respond. Mao tilted his hat back down alittle and double-checked his ammo. As he did so the sun began to settle down..and over the sea the sun's great orange display of lights shone slightly above the horizon...
"The day's work hasn't ended just yet..."

Unnoficial..hard word..anything happened I"m the one getting the flak while those SIN less bastards gets away clean..I figured I can always book'hem on charges of assault and illegal weapons..but one thing at a time.
"Yeah it is unofficial Freddy..But they are responsible for the deaths of 8 Peace Officers..SO we can always place our actions on being over-zealot about it." Well I can blame it on that.
"Look I know why your after me. I'll make you a deal. You let us leave without following and you can have your dwarf back. We'll put a life vest on him and drop him off where you can pick him up. Don't give me no bull drek about how unimportant he is either, if you have this much action going on then you must consider him pretty fragging valuable. What do you say to that offer?" They do have that Pelch guy with them..we'll have to play it safe. and that distance, we can't just start shooting at them..even Ol' reliable won't hit that far, even with slugs..guess it's the 40 mil canons, the missiles won't be that good..and I hate doing cleaning up.
"Getting Pelch back isn't enough in my opinion...they can always just decide to call even stevens and just go belly up at anytime and crash the sucker into the sea...but my guess is that if they are as good as they say...getting caught and saving their lives is better than dying. We need information? What the hell is that drop-out thinks? You're the only looking for info, I got my own ways of finding stuff out..and like hell I"ll share it with the likes of him...what the hell? did he ever saw a sunset before?
"The day's work hasn't ended just yet..."
Oh that's it.. "Oh that's it, no way I"m risking my hide and those of other real cops for the likes of you. You want them alive, we'll give'em a few warning shots with the canons, that might make them think twice before thinking they have a bargaining chip...If we do follow them to the platform, you're taking point and your buddies too; better risk your SIN less lives over those of honest citizens. And is it TOO much to ask to cut the obvious drek too? Of course the 'day's job hasn't ended yet' what are we fragging idiots?"
I left them to check on the gunner. Some pretty little thing named Potovoskosky, I can't say what she was doing, but with that datajack cable connecting her head to the boat's weapons, she wasn't just waiting for something to happen. "How long until the canons are in range?" She didn't bother turning around "In about a minute or two." "All right, when you'll be in range, inform me about it, all right Potovoskosky?" I think she liked hearing her own name, because she was facing me the second I finished up "Holy drek, you're the first person to say my name right." "Huh..well must be my lucky day..I"ll be with the tourists, get me on my head radio." "10-4 boss." I put my hand on my pistol, it was loaded and so was Ol'reliable. With only flashpacks, I hope that'll do the trick..

Mao couldn't help but smile at Pop's remarks. That was one of the few reasons that he left the Star. In the end all it ever came down to was to watch over oneself over serving justice and the like. He wasn't going to waste time making an argument either since Mao knew what had to be done. Real cops did what was necessary to uphold the law and not run away from trouble like sissy mamma's boys.
"Don't worry about taking point and the like. I've done more than enough of my fair sure of field duty than you'ld know. Go do what you need to do. My job is to get a team member back and get information that I was instructed to do. If you want to leave..fine. Call it on the radio to your little boy blues and tuck tails and turn back. I can guarantee you though that if you want to successfully solve the case you'ld get information from them pronto rather than make up some cockamamie excuse about finding it some other way yadda yadda ya. Your call, your hide, you can then just deal with Krass yourself."

Me an Henri can zip in and take a look inside the copter - we might be able to drop off a stun blast to take out the crew - the chopper should autopilot override if the pilot loses conciousness, maybe.. how about some military ecm to scramble the copter, and force it into autopilot? can that be done?
Depends if the mage is carrying any trinkets - I can ground a spell through something like that, or poke him in the eye if he tries to use astral sight !
If the shaman gets blasted, it may knock the stuffing out of the rest of his crew and we get some answers...
the Dragon is too big for a little spirit to do much to..
so theres a couple of options - I'm willing to get up there and see whats happening.. Henri?
