OOC: Pelch, "Sorry for the delay everyone. I had to deal with some complications elsewhere. This is one of those in between places before we get involved in the next scenario. If anyone wants to dive or new players want in, this is the best time for that."
"Right then, let's dig into questions and answers."
First, it's summer, several of you will be slower posting. Krondax, Wheels, Mao, Freddy and Quick. this is not a problem. We will just continue at a slower pace if we need to and we will continue posting as necessary. Sorry to hear about your Grandfather, Boombaby, our best wishes go out to you and him."
OOC: Mao, "I don't understand something though...Krass would know of the assassination attempt or have people investigating already. Why get us lowly few to do it and prevent it? Seems like this is out of our league entirely..."
OOC: Freddy, "Reply.. coz were the ones on the spot, with the info, met the guy etc.. I'm sure that there will be bells ringing - but this is the sort of thing that Krass has to deal with daily, and will already have counter-assassination teams in place... maybe we get to notch it up a bit, and get some toys to play with. see you soon Mao..)"
OOC Pelch, "Wolflet is spot on the NuYen, Mao. We are actually insurance but let me spell it out a bit. Most teams are hired for specialties. Ours happens to be intel. gathering at the present time. No defense is foolproof. Who knows what way they are going to come at Krass? They may even have multiple attempts planned by multiple teams. Now PERHAPS, we were targeted because we would be called in to snoop. Why not take us out before we start? by the way Mao, do you remember a while back Krass offered a cool million NuYen to anyone taking out assassins before they even get to him? I don't know about you but why not see if we can score that as well as getting paid? This job sound more like fun now?"
"Now onto the game."
Quick looked carefully at Widow. "You may want to know when I get conflicting orders Widow, but I work for Dom. If he orders me not to tell you, then I can't and won't. You will just have to iron that problem out with him I guess. You're talking to the middle man here. I was assigned to assist your team, but my orders do come from someone else. You might consider me as an independent liaison assigned to help you but not under your direct control."
Widow did not look happy. She decided that pursuing this at the moment would get her nowhere. She was going to have to deal with Dom on it. She looked at Freddy, "Buying the first round may not be a good option at this time. As you say we have a high powered assassin to deal with, an insect shaman involved and already the bombs have been going off. We need to replace Wheels, and Mao's equipment. We need a decker. You and Henri need to decide how you intend to deal with the Shaman if we catch up with him. " She looked at Wheels, "Freddy raises a good question. What do you intend to do about the bugs in the lair? I want to use it but don't want to be spied on all the time. The lair is to good a place, with a lot of benefits. I'd hate to have to dump it."
Wheels smiled, "Already being worked on. We use white noise and sound dampeners. They should have been in the place already. I can get them easy enough but it's going to cost and take time to install. Time, is the enemy. It's something I am not going to have since we are rushing from one job to another with no breaks! I can't even replace the equipment I've lost in the last campaign!"
Widow looked thoughtfully, "This is the way I see it going down. We get Pelch and Mao back. We get briefed and negotiate for a really BIG payment. We collect expenses and pay from the last mess. We stay out of the lair until we can get it fixed. JJ you have hotel rooms and Security here. You need to give us a floor and establish Security for us while the lair gets changed. You need to get us a decker, and some protected vehicles for us to use. Then once we get briefed we make some plans. That's a rough, I'll get back to you on the details later. Anyone have problems with that?"

I can set up a white noise generator, as I am a fully qualified professional spark - that will save time while Wheels concentrates on collecting his gear together - if we need to install a generator....
We will still need to give out information whilst at the Tomato, just how much depends on Dom, and what parts he is willing or wants to let NAN know. Keep them sweet and satisfied and we stay a step ahead. They can quickly get us thrown out of the Tomato-lair if we dont help them out...
The Star will have assensed the Lantern area and picked up what we have. That will eventually filter out to every organisation in Seattle. But what Tony said should be under wraps.. it is enough to know there is an active contract out on Krass, and by a powerful shaman backed by Nestle. We can confirm this and NAN think they have a headstart, they maybe even thinking of helping Tony! But if we keep them in the dark then we will not be able to leak future information to them, and that will be useful to KD&A..
it is like JJ said - we only get to know what someone else wants us to know, we can the filter that through for our own advantage..
Regarding a powerful shaman, heavy pistol slugs would be effective.. AP more so
There was a list of leads I had mentioned on the way here that I thought worth persuing.. but youre right Widow, we should leave the celebrations and get straight down to biz, and digging out some of those leads..

OOC: It depends on what is happening...hopefully I can keep up with posting. I just recently found out my contract isn't getting renewed... Should we perhaps update our character sheets somehow in some way with the latest money we get for completing the mission?

"You and Henri need to decide how you intend to deal with the Shaman if we catch up with him." "That'd depend on just how powerful they are and the situation on the ground. If he's out of our league, we might have to go defensive and cover the rest of you while someone tries to put real big holes in 'em. Frag, it might be all we can do is block their line of sight and run. We need to stay flexible and we need to bring in some spirits, you can bet your hoop they'll have some mosquito spirits there"
At the mention of a lair known to outside parties and known to be compromised, Henri looks incredulous. "You're not seriously considerin' goin' back to there, knowing it's bugged and it's whereabouts is known outside this room!?"
Henri looks toward JJ and asks "Don't think I'm gonna bail if the price isn't right, I'm just as eager to geek a bug shaman as the next person. But, what're the pay and conditions for this next assignment?"

You are right Henri -
but goin back to the place means we have good access to a secure and useful site - OK so it is compromised, but we can use that to our advantage... even if they know that we know... we just avoid a few very sensitive topics.
For example, I wondered aloud if there were enough components available in their toolroom to rustle up the parts for a big magbuster.. I'm not going to search for the parts until they have been given some juicy information. Pelch was amazed at how I had created fresh food in the larder...he he - now he believes in majik.
It is good practice to think before we speak - to concider what we say as well.
All the stuff we will be working with - will be known to different groups - each organisation will have their ears out for anything new.. there will be copies of the Lantern security taps being hurried off to contacts as we speak Mao could easily turn up here with a copy! the Star reports will be doctored - but the powers who want to know will soon have the information on the insect shaman.
It comes across as really lax security - but we are working with the same stuff as everyone else - it depends who can gather the best information to make a whole picture - before someone else does !
Thats the way I see it anyway !

OOC: Pelch, "Good Morning! Braddoc has kindly informed me that he has added your Nuyen and made the mods to your character sheets. Your new amounts should appear with your avatar's as well. "
Widow looked at the group, "Then I suggest that until Mao and Pelch rejoin us that we use this time wisely. She hands the cred sticks to each person. Might I suggest this is the best time for you to go shopping and try to replace some losses or make some purchases for the next run. We will meet back here tomorrow morning at 09:00 for then next briefing. At that point we will decide IF we want to take on this job as a group. I'll be available for the next hour if anyone has any thoughts they want to share or has questions."
Quick, stood up and went to his room. He checked his case carefully and then tore down his weapon. He cleaned it and replaced the shells that he had used. He also replaced the barrel and shell ejector. Now even if the weapon was checked forensically the shells would not match those used at the scene! Sure his weapon would appear to have been fired recently but the rifling patterns and ejection marks would NOT be the same.
Mao and Pelch walked out of Lone Star. It appeared that Harry Braxton was not a happy camper. Neither knew what the story was that had gotten them off but JoAnne from KD&A had obviously had no problem in getting them released. Luckily, the Star precinct they had been taken to was near the Metro and they were soon on a bus to Westlake Mall.

OOC: I only see that my vehicle was destroyed...but don't seem to see the newly changed nuyen amount...since we are suppose to get 17 thou each right? and my character should be getting 2x that amount since I'm gettnig pelch's share too i think. Am I looking at the wrong place? Where was the link to the store again?

When we need to buy any gear.. who would it be best for us to go through, our own contacts, or you JJ ? You obviously have more clout to arrange better deals, and much better supply lines than us individuals
I've just forked out 10000 creds on some standard comms units - do you have an electronics department that we can take advantage of? or is that something for us for the future?

Henri tucks the credstick into a pocket and thinks for a second. "Freddy might have to be our conjurer for now. I doubt this'll be enough NuYen for me to grab everythin' I need to whistle up an elemental that the bugs won't laugh at." With a shrug, he adds "But I might find something in a sale." With that, Henri stands and leaves the Siren. OOC: I know this doesn't apply to me, since I came in at the end of the last mission, but being a nosey sod I checked out everyone's character sheets & there's no karma been added to a couple of them. Have they been spent already? Also, does anyone have any ideas for a decent street name for a Spider shaman? I've got a few myself, but you guys might have something better.

Wheels takes the cred stick looks at it, grimaces and tucks it into his pocket. "Look, I gotta tell you, this ain't even gonna come close to covering my expenses so far on this job. That stick ain't even going to cover the car I lost on the I-5, let alone my copter or my drones. Heck, that stick will barely cover the tools I lost. We're going to have to come up with some other sort of arrangement for equipment. I can't afford that sort of attrition...You guys aren't paying me enough..." Wheels leans back glumly. I put together a list while I was being interned in the hospital. "Here it is..."
Bobby hands over a scrap of paper with a handwritten list on it. It reads as follows:
Enfield AS-7 (Dwarf Modified) 2200 Rating 3 Gas Vent 2100 Ares Antioch 5100 Vehicle Kit (Dwarf Modified) 2200 Chrysler Nissan 20000 Rigger Adaptation 5600 Remote Control Interface 15000 ATT Spinne 9350 Northrup Wasp PRC-42B 108000 Rigger Adaptation 5600 Remote Control Interface 15000 Ingram Valiant LMG SmartlinkI 6000 Rifle Customization Kit 1875 Smartlink Integration Kit 650 [100] Regular rounds 150 MCT-Roto Drone 9000
OOC these prices include the Street Index in the pricing
Widow gasps at the list, then silently passes it over to JJ. JJ's pretty face is distorted as her eyebrows rise nearly to her hairline. "I am going to have to review this list." she says as she tucks it into a folder on the desk.
"Fine, fine. Review the list. I am going to need a replacement gun first thing. Maybe you can hook me up JJ? Same specs as on the sheet there. In the mean time, I have a few errands to run as well..." With that Bobby gets up and limps over to the door. His hearing had been restored, but he was still sore in a number of places. He nods at the assembled team and then exits.
Once outside, Bobby hails a cab and heads off towards Puyallup, to meet with his chummer Buddy.

OOC: Pelch, " hey Wheels, looks like you posted while I was writing. The amounts of your equipment was supposed to be added to your NuYen total. Thanks for the price list. I alerted Braddoc on the NuYen and Karma and you guys should get it back. Keep me posted if you don't and I'll arrange replacement in the thread for you! I want to give the group a little more time to replace equipment, purchase things they need and get situated for the next run. I'm waiting till Braddoc has a chance to get back to me so if you guys are buying and or selling I suggest you keep him informed. When you are happy with the state of the sheets we will then continue. In the meantime I will be doing 'fillers' as time passes. As for a Spider Shaman, let's look at this a moment, Gremlin."
Loxosceles. Recluse spiders are found in many parts of the world and have been introduced into Australia. The venom of this spider can cause severe skin necrosis (eating away of the flesh) and can be fatal although not many deaths have been recorded. This is mostly due to their rarity! So why not call him Hermit (Herman) Loxosceles? You and Widow would make such a GRAND couple then.
JJ looked at Freddy and smiled, "I can arrange to buy or to sell items if you have a special need. However, I suggest you use that service only when absolutely required. Given the amount of interest in our organization of late, any items we are purchasing or selling are going to be scrutinized very closely. This could create complications if you use us as an only supplier. I strongly suggest you use your contacts and other suppliers randomly so that tampered items are harder to plant on your group."
Wheels nodded, "I'm going out and try to replace some of my equipment. I'll probably be buying some upgrades on it but I would like to know if you can supply me with a vehicle for the group?"
JJ smiled, "I take it you desire something a little more durable, that can carry all the group around and you won't have to worry as much about a bomb being planted on it or replacing it?"
Wheels looked disgusted, "Something like that."
JJ nodded, "I'll see what I can find that's immediately available. I'll let you know." Wheels nodded and left. JJ looked at Widow and Freddy, "You can wait here for Mao and Pelch if you wish. They should be here soon. It appears that someone out front requires my attention. When you people are all back together, meet here, and we will discuss your next assignment." JJ left.
OOC: Pelch, "On a final note. You have contacts on your player sheets. If you deal with other players in the game and they introduce you to their contacts you can use them too! If you wish to purchase items I will play the role of the contact and will set prices and negotiate. If you have good skills, you can get bargains. "

(OOC:The money you have appear in the mini-profile (that's the section at the left of a post, where there's their member's name, avatar picture and weapon. The amount they have is right under their post count, and right over the "Send Donation" link
Here's Mao's information

Since the shop went online, the money is added to the mini-profile, so when you add a weapon from the shop the money is automatically taken from your Nuyen count. (The only thing that's supposed to be on your sheet concerning weapons and the modifications (such as smartlink, grenade launcher, laser sight and so on and so forth..)
If you do want the Nuyen to be on your char sheet, I'll add it.
As for Karma, I"ve checked the "looking for a job" thread and while Pelch did say he was awarding karma, he didn't say the amount of, so that's why I didn't add any. I"m sure it'll be fixed in the next few days)
