OOC: Pelch, "After a long discussion, expogue and I appear to have reached an accommodation. We will indeed be picking up thread with Widow leaving the hideout but we are going to be adding a bit more to her description. We are going to describe for the first time how she is doing it and what she sees. That will be my job.
Mao unless you are dealing with the hideout you are free and clear to maneuver. We discussed earlier some of what you can and need to do, so this will not hinder your posting.
Emyaj, I would like to see you actually going to pick up the gear and dealing with getting it on the trucks and finding drivers in your posts. If you need advice or help setting it up we will work it out in mail.
In the meantime expogue will be working with me to elaborate on some of his previous history to justify what we are doing. He will post that when we have it ready.
Mr Johnson, just to let you know, we may need the extended history and the descriptions of the hideout placed on expogues character sheet. We are using the baseline 30,000 NYen that he had used on his old one. This way he will not lose what he already invested. If this is a problem let me know and we will try to find an accommodation we can all live with.
My Thanks to all who have made comments as we worked through this complication. Your insights were helpful and informative. Please feel free to offer suggestions or critique if you feel the need. "

Mao had seen enough. As he was dining at the hotel lobby he saw the news of supposedly how a someone had knocked off a couple of lonestar folks and for some reason believed it to be a dwarf. Mao didn't like where the newscast was heading. He took note of the location in which the news was currently being broadcast and looked at his watch. He went to a payphone and made a call to his contact "hele". It looked like that he was going to need his ride finally...[dice=6]
OOC: Hope that dice roll thing worked...how do i know if it is a success or not? I wait till someone tells me right?[rand=741313578167318549606666976182410760070629013111850039537066476]

OOC: Krondax, " (do you mena what she sees inside, or outside? because i merely wanted to get the post doen before i went to work yesterday is all. i dont know what i see inside, but outside, well, i can embellish that a lot)"
OOC Pelch, "Hey Krondax. Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I have to sleep sometime and my mail on this board has been absolutely berserk as I work out details with all the runners. Let me see if I can make it clearer. So far in Davik's BASE we have pretty much been confined to two areas. His living space, and the tunnel area where we go out. We have not mentioned too much about about anything else. Most of the time we pick up at the point where we walk down the tunnel. I plan to put a parking area at the beginning of the tunnel for our vehicles. The door Davik described will be changed and improved somewhat. WE are going to redescribe what is on the other side of that door, the parking area and some of the Security in the parking area when I get done working with expogue. Mao is eventually going to want to bring his vehicle in here as well. So we have to make this area large enough for expansion. We also have to show how Mao is going to be allowed to bring it past Security. You remember my post when I dealt with Dom's security? We will have to set up the same situation for Davik's security. So go ahead and do your shopping, but don't add to the description in the immediate area of Davik's base, I'll do that later. I hope that helps to answer the question and will allow you to move your caharacter along. Just confine yourself to what was already said about Davik's place and you should be fine. I'll probably add to this thread if the email permist sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning. I do have Real Life issues as well."

OOC: Pelch, "Mao I looked at what you're doing. Now first it would be nice to know what you are rolling to determine? I assume you are calling a contact but you haven't mentioned who it is so it can be played. If you rolled to see if you could reach him, it is not a bad idea given that he might be busy and disenclined to receive your call. You are new so don't take this as a bad thing. I am just walking you along the method. If you roll a six it means you can roll again. You got a five. Now normally I have a pile of charts that tells me difficulty levels in what you are doing. To this I assign a Target Number (TN). If you exceed the TN you are successful if you don't you failed. Now I do have some leeway as moderatior to move TN numbers around if I have to based on the situation. TN' charts are guidelines. Now with all the devices in SR for communication it is usually never difficult to contact a contact unless they are very active. If they like you... they will make special arrangements with you to make contact no matter where they are. Your roll of FIVE more than exceeds what you needed. You will be able to talk to your contact, if that is waht you are doing. By the way, just for information purposes, you can also add extra dice to your roll by using combat pool dice or karma dice, and even some of your skills based upn there level. You can determine how much power and hence how many dice you want to put behind an attempt based on what your doing. Expogue had a very nice explanation sheet about how to determine dice rolls from skills before it got wiped out. If he can put it back up in the learning center it might be of great help to you. This explanation is just a very basic and simplistic view and leaves a lot out but it will help you to learn. "

Quicksilver looks at Davik
"I am gonna go get the equipment and get things rolling on the trucks, however I need to know where I will need to go get them and who will be meeting me there, Would also be nice if he or she knew I was coming don't things to get messy may not look to good for either of us. Also any habits or pet peeves this person may have could help me out also?"
With that Quicksilver grins at Davik and waits for a response

OOC: Pelch, "Let's take this a step at a time."
[OOC: Expogue, "Pelch seance the contacts are NPCs were are we meeting Mr. Black? The truck is drone run so what driver or are you talking about a rigger?]"
Pelch, "Expogue, you are making an assumption here. Quicksilver (IC) the CHARACTER knows absolutely NOTHING about YOUR CONTACT, Mr Black. You made the initial call, determined the price and the gear but you never posted details. This is why I have been trying to get people to put detail in their work! Quicksilver played this absolutely correctly. He requires contact details, the money to pay the contact, and an intro to your contact with a location and protocol for the meet. Your contact has to also know Quicksilver is coming and have some type of description so that he can identify him. Now I can do those things for you, but it would be better if you LEARN to do them yourself. (You seem to dislike me moving or speaking for your character. There are times that I must take over your character to add these details.) Since the earlier posts are lost though I will have Davik;s character restablish new details in this post. By the way, the trucks are NOT drone run. It was ESTABLISHED that Dom is using real drivers! He told you that in the initial briefings that several drivers had been killed. That is one of the reasons we are here. "
OOC: Krondax, "(i didnt think that we were goign after the trucks any more. i thought that it was solvced....)"
OOC: Pelch, "Krondax, As far as I know this option was never eliminated by your leader. While further information in the story threads has been given, the option of using this approach has not been eliminated."
OOC: Mao, "In my post...i did say contact "hele"... So what I wanted to do was try to call her and see if she can bring me my vehicle... I'm assuming her class allows her to drive it remotely to where i am..."
OOC: "Pelch, Sorry Mao, you're correct. You did mention the name, I just didn't make the connection quick enough. While she is a DECKER, it says nothing about being a rigger or capable of driving. She does repairs, and research. I don't have enough knowledge on her skill sets at this time. So I am going to rule that she does not drive, but she can get someone (TRUSTWORTHY), who can deliver the car to you, but you will have to pay them a small fee when they arrive. One Ares Roadmaster on the way."

OOC: Pelch, "Overview in case anyone forgot. None of the player characters are aware of the meeting between Dom and the Retro's yet! The info is out in the storyline but until our "Control" or Dom informs us, we have to treat that info as something we do not have. Location of players; Widow is currently at Westlake Mall shopping and can move from there. Pelch is in hiding, Davik's tracking devices will eventually show he is in Tacoma. Davik and Quicksilver are in the hideout. Mao is at the Jackal's Lantern making a call. That established, let's make it official."
Davik looked at Quicksilver, "The contacts name is Mr. Rasmus A. Black. His nickname is 'Creeps'. He likes to dress and act like a mortician so don't let that throw you. I have already described you to him so when you get there he will know it is you. Here's 8,300 NuYen on this cred stick. In return he will give you one Level 2 UCAS mil spec. tracking device and portable receiver. If Lone Star catches you with that, your hoop is grass. You will meet Mr. Black at the Sea-Tac Airport at the Alaskan Lodge and he will be in a booth at the rear. It's a dining facility you can go into just before going through the Sea Tac security areas so it's pretty fragging safe for you. Black will have his stuff in a plain brief case under the table near his left foot and the wall. You pay him, he slides the case to you with his foot and walks away. You have a drink, wait half an hour, pick up the case and walk out. No fuss, no muss."
Quicksilver nodded, It would be a easy trip and sounded like an easy deal. A quick jump by taxi, east to I-5 down to the Sea Tac. Drek, he could be there in 10 minutes. It appeared the guy he was to meet would stand out pretty well and he had an exact location to find him. He could use the same taxi to take him up to where the two trucks were being guarded by the Yaks at Pier 62, along the Alaskan Way. The trucks were fully loaded and had the Logo of the trucking company name on them under the name Dewey, Cheatham & Howe. That would make them easy to find. Quicksilver had run into a problem though. None of the standard drivers wanted to risk getting killed by driving those trucks into Holloweener Territory. He could understand that. In order to make this work they would need at least a couple of the standard faces. He was sure that whoever, was doing the hijacking would know the regular drivers. He could take that up with JJ after he rigged the truck. He wouldn't want the drivers knowing it was going to be tracked. Quicksilver went out the door.
Mao watched as a slate gray Ares Road master Heavy Van arrived at the Jackal's lantern. He quietly paid the driver, 100 NuYen for the delivery and went to the vehicle. First he drove to the scene of the crime, but it had already been checked, witnesses questioned, pictures taken and suspects rousted. It was opened again to the public. He didn't learn much there just looking around. He would probably have to see a Lone Star report to get anything useful. Mao had two ways to do that, he could try to use a contact in the Star itself or he could get his decker to make a run. It would take some serious thought. Mao chose to drive southeast on Denny Way checking out the grid map being displayed that showed a map of Seattle. He had to admit, Pelch's directions were pretty accurate. By following his grid map and staying on the main roads he had no problems relocating Davik's Place on the map and marking it. As he cruised south down I-5 towards Davik's Hideout he wondered where the heck his partner had gotten to. Mao took the 5th Avenue 165 west exit off of I5 and moved Northbound up 5th Avenue one block past Columbia St, took a quick right down Marion ST and half a block later was moving northward on Z street. Located in the Northeast corner of the Block was labeled a modest 30 story building with the words 'ACE TOMATO COMPANY' in bold and well worn gold letters on a black background. Mao had no idea what the heck it was that this company did, he just suspected that it was more than it seemed. He had good reason for the suspicion. He pulled into the entryway to the underground parking garage that most buildings in this area seemed to have. What was unusual was that it was not an automated entry. It appeared to be a very simplistic and effective manual entry!
A heavily armored sec guard with a M-4 assualt rifle stood outside the closed and shuttered door of heavy trans plastic at least 7 inches thick. When Mao pulled his vehicle in another door just like it closed down behind him. The car was sprayed with a foam solution. Mao had no idea what it did. His car was automatically and THROUGHLY SCRUBBED. The front door didn't open, yet. Both doors were obviously strong enough to stop any normal round with no scratch. Mao rolled down his window and handed the guard the pass that Davik had given each of them. The guard placed it into a handheld sec device and looked closely at Mao's face. Mao just knew his picture was being taken and compared and he suspected his truck was being scanned for explosives and other harmful devices as well. He felt magic being used but dared not investigate it. No telling what might happen if he did and the guard looked like the type that had no sense of humor at all. After several moments, the guard nodded and stepped back. The INNER door was then opened by a second guard inside that door. Even as the last of the foam was evaporating, Mao pulled inside and that inner door went down again behind him and then the outer door was reopened. He drove carefully and slowly to the back parking lot where two more heavily armed and armored guards waited in front of a heavily and obviously, locked like a vault, 3 inch thick metal door. The yellow and black banner above it in large black letters on white background proclaimed; President and Vice President parking ONLY! Intruders will be eliminated! Corporate Defense License number 729518 filed with Lone Star Security, Seattle. One humorless guard examined Mao's pass while the other watched carefully his hand on a dead man switch. After examining the pass with two separate devices the Guard nodded and saluted while his partner with obvious relief opened the door. Mao drove into this area and the door closed behind him. The sound of heavy locks was audible clicking shut. Mao parked in a spot that said; 'Vice President (Visitor) Welcome to Ace Tomato Co.' He noticed that Widow's bike was gone from her spot but Davik's was still there. He carefully parked and locked his car and moved into a small elevator like room in the back. It was unmarked with no buttons or controls. He put his pass in the unmarked and only slot on the wall and the floor gently angled downward from the back wall with small steps appearing in the floor, allowing him to walk down the ramp and into the tunnel. After a short walk he was back in Davik's lair.

OOC: Mao, "So I can continue to post then or should I wait until you tell me how much I need to pay and when i get the car etc..."
OOC: Pelch, "Sorry Mao I was writing the latest when you posted this. I saw it after I posted. By now you know you have your car and you can claim the 100 back in expenses. You are ready to continue on with your plans."
"As most of you will note I have started the descriptive part of Davik's hideout. I will be adding more in the next post. Two things everyone should be aware of by now. The guards are ex Sioux and UCAS Mil. Quicksilver would have picked that up right away. He may allude to it if he wishes. Next point that should be glaringly obvious by now. Eon and the Retro's could NOT have had a bug in Davik's place. Why? Think or READ back. Quicksilver made a threat against Krass in the lair. Dom pointed out that the Retro's do not take kindly to threats and will retaliate! The THREAT was never mentioned by Eon or even acknowledged by any Retro despite having plenty of time to get the info! If she had known about it she would have certainly mentioned it, to Dom! Eon was obviously bluffing just to see who would get rattled! A good lesson for us all 'in don't believe everything said in IC!' NPC's and player characters CAN and WILL lie. The why in this case is less obvious. Can anyone think WHY Eon would have done this? A good exercise in strategic thinking!"
"Krondax, I didn't know what you went to do, so I sent you to the mall first. If you are going after something in particular, as in something specialized, I'll need to know. If it's cosmetics and dress clothes, you have some leeway."
"Quicksilver, you are ready to do your meet. You can pick up with whatever precautions you want to take prior to the meet up to the point where you meet the contact. Give me any questions you have for him in OOC: and I'll answer them. When your done there your next stop is the pier and Yak guards."

Wheels is wrapping up his meeting with his new partners when his phone rings. Waving goodbye to his new chummers after having exchanged numbers with Peaches, Bobby wanders back to his Americar where he looks at the incoming LTG. Hmm, Quicksilver. Haseltorn's man...This oughta be interesting... he thinks to himself opening the phone and activating the vid-link.
"Oi, chummer, its Quick..."
"Yah, I see ya. What's up?" Bobby replies, piling himself into the drivers seat, closing the door softly so as not to interupt the call with loud noise.
"Dom talked to you about a little steady nuyen on the side right? A driving job? Well, its time to earn your keep..." Quick was kinda like that some days. Wheels knew him just well enough to keep outta his way. As Dom's right hand man, Bobby had seen the elf handling business around the Beaver a couple times, and he was no slouch. And the elf had made it thru that Halloweener business down on the docks all by his lonesome after the van had gotten blown up. Heck, Bobby wasn't sure, but Quick might have even been the one that recovered the package that Wheels and his crew were supposed to pick up on that botched run...Quicksilver was a little quick on the jib sometimes, and flaunted that he was Dom's man a little too much for Bobby, but, the dwarf had to give the elf a grudging respect. He'd been in the bizness for a while now and was still alive...
"Alright, where and when?" Bobby replied, thinking that he wasn't going to get to review those vids he'd taken last night of the Federated Boeing launch, until much much later....
"Well, I am on my way to Sea-Tac for a meeting, why don't we hook up there, and I can give you the details. I'm on my way there now. Call me when you arrive. You can drive me to my next destination after that..."
"Arctic. I am on my way. Be there in about 45 minutes...Talk to you then..." Hanging up, Bobby glances at the cronometer and hopes traffic is light. Quicksilver hadn't told him how long he was going to be, but Bobby didn't mind waiting. It was Dom's show, and Quick was Dom's man, so that meant that Quick was probably going to have the nuyen...I always wait for the money-man...
With a wolfish grin, Bobby pulled out into traffic and started the long tortuous route that would take him from north of the Downtown core, to Sea-Tac. The I-5 wasn't usually that busy this time of night but you never knew. There were a couple of wanna be go-gang groups that tried to run the I-5 but Lonestar didn't usually put up with that too long...
